Pump out the water from the intex pool. How to pump water from the pool to the bottom: submersible pump for frame and drainage pool

Due to the variety of proposals in various price categories, today, swimming pools have appeared on almost every site. Large stationary pools, broken by wealthy people, independent systems connected to water supply and sewerage, and their operation is automatic. But inflatable or frame models, by magic, are not poured or emptied, here you need to make an effort. This is where special equipment comes to the rescue - pumps for pumping water.

Which pumps are suitable for pumping water from the bottom of the pool

There are several varieties of water pumps, depending on the principle of operation and equipment, they are designed for different applications. For pumping water from pools and other containers in which the water is not clean, but not completely littered, there are self-priming drainage pumps.

The pump can be special, produced, as a rule, by pool manufacturers, or household, designed for widespread use. Depending on the cost of the reservoir, a pump for pumping out water may be included, but this is in expensive frame models. The bulk of the units has one manufacturer, but is supplied separately.

Types: submersible and surface (drainage)

There are two types of domestic drainage pumps that can be used to empty water.

  • Submersible- sink to the bottom of the pool or other empty container and pump out water through the grate in the housing. Do not require additional sleeves for work. You will learn about which pump to choose for the well.
  • Surface- remain outside, a special hose is lowered into the container, sucking out the liquid. By this, you can also check out.

For pools, they produce not only drainage pumps that can quickly drain water and at the same time clean the bottom, but also universal systems that operate in several modes:

  • Circulation- they drive water in the pool for uniform heating and pass it through the purification system, preventing "blooming".
  • Heating- work both for draining, water, and for its injection, while heating the cold water entering the pool.

The drainage pump can not only pump out water from the pool, with its help it is really possible to establish an irrigation system. Water can be pumped from a nearby body of water or rainwater barrels.

The technology for installing a drainage pump in a well is described.

Which is better

For inflatable

The most common for country use are inflatable pools, recently they have been successfully crowded out from the positions of leaders by frame varieties. Both of them are characterized by mobility, they can be installed wherever you want, and ease of operation. In the middle of the season, if proper water treatment measures have not been taken, it may be necessary to drain the pool, or this will happen at the end of the bathing season, when it needs to be prepared for wintering. In any case, it is unrealistic to spit out several cubes with buckets, and water will not flow by gravity due to safety valves.

It is possible that the material about will be useful to you.

Frame

To pump water from an inflatable or frame pool, you can use the filter pump included in the delivery. The sleeve through which purified water flows back into the tank is not connected to the pool, but to the outlet hose through a coupling or adapter. However, all the water cannot be drained in this way, since the installation of equipment on the fence is carried out at a considerable height from the bottom. For the final pumping, you will have to use a special or household drainage pump. Or connect it to the process initially.

From domestic drainers, special, pool ones, differ in lower power and dimensions. These are compact models that will collect almost all the water from an inflatable or frame structure. In addition, they are designed to clean the bottom of dirt and can serve as a water vacuum cleaner during the swimming season. The convenient handle allows you to move the device around the bottom of the pool.

When planning and installing a swimming pool, one of the most difficult moments is deciding where to drain the water from the pool. With a children's or a small frame pool, this is not such a big problem, i.e. water can be drained simply to the garden. But if you have several tons of water, then the garden can simply drown, provided that the home pool needs to be drained quickly.

1. The easiest way is to drain the pool down the drain, if there is one. This is possible even with small frame pools. If you think about how to quickly drain the water from the pool , then consider the diameter of the pipes, the correct slope and proximity to the sewer.

2. Drain to the garden

For small pools, this is easy to do with a hose. How to drain water from the pool through a hose? – Secure one end of the hose with something heavy in the pool and blow the other end lightly (by suction). Or pour water into the hose through a funnel to release air. Water will come. It is better to merge it in several steps so as not to flood the garden. If you want pressure for irrigation, connect the pump.

This method is suitable if you do not know how to drain the water from the inflatable pool if there is no drain valve.

It is even easier if there are drainage pits or ditches where water runs off after rain.

The problem is that pool water can contain a lot of chemicals, so watering the garden with such water is simply dangerous. But in small pools, they usually don’t add a lot of chemicals, because. there is an opportunity to change the water in them more often.

3. Draining water into a septic tank

In this way, it will not be possible to completely drain the water from the pool at one time, because. holes are limited. And it may well flood. Another thing is if you organize a special pit for draining water from the pool, in which it will settle, and then go into the ground. This requires a cost, but this approach is considered environmentally friendly.

4. Drainage into reservoirs

It is technically easy to organize, but according to environmental standards, it is forbidden to do so. Especially if the pool is filled with softeners, flavors, salts, etc. In addition, you can get large fines for polluting the reservoir. Therefore, a filter for the pool is also needed here.

There is an option how to drain the pool automatically. This not only increases the drain rate, but also the possibility of reusing water after cleaning, if there is not much chemistry.

If there is absolutely nowhere to dump water from the pool, you need:

Dig a trench on your site (let it be 30 m) 70 wide, 80 cm deep. Line it with brick, geotextile and crushed stone (2 cm). From above, cover with slate, geotextiles, pour earth and plant grass. You will get a container for 16 cubic meters of water.

It is necessary to drain the pool not only at the end of the season, but also after overflowing with rainwater. Often, pool owners remember about an unprepared drain only when it is already time to drain. If you have already come up with a place to drain the water, then technically it is not difficult to drain the frame pool.

How to drain the water from the intex frame pool

Intex frame pools usually have two drain holes. You can drain the water using the water drain adapter. Connect the garden hose to the adapter first, and then connect it to the drain on the outside of the pool. The adapter will open the safety valve and the water will flow immediately.

How to drain water from the bestway frame pool - the same as described in the previous paragraph. In some Bestway pools, the drain is too high, so that it is not possible to drain all the water completely. To do this, you will have to remove several racks from the frame.

Help with advice - bought inflatable pool big, I thought that I could drain the water either with an ordinary hose or a deep electric. well pump and miscalculated. Through a hose connected to the drain hole of the pool (the hose is long, 7 meters), the water does not want to leave at all (I don’t know what’s the matter, maybe there is not enough water pressure), and the deep pump turned out to be stationary and cannot be transferred to the pool. How to drain water from the pool with improvised means? Do not offer buckets, I don’t drag so much water to the ditch in a week :)) It’s difficult to buy a pump now, the purchase has ended, I haven’t seen such pumps without a pool in stores.
Can I buy a wider hose?:009:

Have you ever seen how they drain gasoline?
If not, here's a short guide for you :)
Take the hose, lower one end into the pool, throw the other on the ground, preferably below the pool, but before you throw it on the ground, draw water into the hose with your mouth (like from a glass of lemonade), and then throw :)

We drain the pool as Volodya Volodya suggested, during the night all the water leaves
what's the fun????

30.07.2009, 19:47

And if you drain the old driver's way, I recommend not to suck in air with your mouth (you need to suck in a lot), but fill the hose with water through a funnel.
Or just gradually lower the hose with one end into the pool, allowing air to escape from the other end. When the hose is all in water, plug one end of it with your finger (the second should be under water all the time), pull it out and drag it to the drain point. There, lower the hose to the ground and open the hole. The water will flow by itself.

Deal with the drain hole of the pool. Maybe it is closed from the inside with a cork? If you just open the drain hole, does water come out?

Thanks for the advice! :flower: They told me that there could really be problems in the pressure in the hose (there are holes and therefore the water is not "drawn in").
I can’t lower the hose into the pool, because. the pool is located 50 meters from the ditch and there will be no sense in letting go due to the large length of the hose. The drain hole works great, if you open it - the water gushes :)), but when you connect the hose (I made a mistake here with the indication of the footage, there are 15 meters and I attach another 30 m :))), the water does not flow. I bought a new large-diameter 15 m hose today, I'll try to insert it tightly and see what happens. If the water comes out, then I will attach it to another hose and try to drain it. At least, if it works in the new one, then I will know that the reason for the previous failures is in the micro-punctures of the old hose. Well, if not, I'll come back here for further reflection: 009:

When the hose is connected to the drain hole, tightness and micro-holes in the hose do not matter, because. in this case, the hose does not work for suction, but for injection. Through micro-punctures, water would simply ooze out of the hose, but the main part of the water would reach the end.
Perhaps the problem is elsewhere. At such a large distance - 50 m - the far end of the hose may be above the water level in the pool (or somewhere in the middle, on some bump, it rises above the water level). In this case, of course, the water will not flow by itself ...

The tightness of the hose would matter if it was thrown over the edge of the pool, or if the water was pumped out using an external pump.

And why not buy an ordinary inexpensive submersible pump - it costs about the same as the hose you bought? About 1000 rubles. We attached a hose to it, a pump to the pool, an extension cord to the outlet. I personally merge like this) Or are there problems with electricity?

No, there are no electrical problems. But I didn’t see submersible pumps in the store, I ran through several, I saw 3000-5000 each, I didn’t raise my hand for 1 time to buy :)).

Problem solved! I connected a new hose, sealed everything hermetically, fumbled for an hour, but the water still did not go. Then, out of anger, she pulled the hose hard and oh! joy! water flowed: 080: What and why - I don’t know, don’t ask, but in a state of rigid stretching of the hose, the water slowly merged into the ditch. True, the pleasantness was not without a fly in the ointment ... in parallel with the drain, she turned on the pump to draw water into the bucket, and then forgot about it. I remembered only at three in the morning: 001:. By the effect of forgetfulness - I could just open the lid of the pool and drain the water to the ground, I think there would be less water :))

So, these were the so-called "air jams". When the hose is not level on the ground, i.e. some sections of the hose are higher than others, there is not enough water pressure to force air bubbles through the hose.
By straightening the hose, you allowed the bubbles to come out of the hose and the water flowed out.

Private swimming pool - an artificially created pond for a great countryside holiday. In this case, the water should be clean and warm. Why not build a jacuzzi? In solving these and many other problems, a real worker is a pool pump. How it happens and what it is capable of, read in this article.

A pump is a device for pumping liquid. The number of pumping devices in the pool depends on the complexity of the entire reservoir system and on the volume of water. The number is also affected by the presence of special zones: spa, hydromassage, fountains, sports, amusement areas.

Several types of pumps are involved in maintaining and ensuring the normal operation of the pool:

  • Pump for pumping water. It is required to fill an artificial reservoir, to empty the tank in case of repair, sanitary care, conservation for the winter.
  • Circulation pump. Providing the movement of water to the cleaning and heating units and back.
  • . It is used in the case of an alternative system for obtaining thermal energy instead of the traditional heating option.
  • Backflow pump. It is used in the organization of hydromassages, water attractions, waterfalls and similar special effects.

All these pumps have their own specifics. The purpose of the further review is to show the diversity and principles for choosing pumping equipment for water world pools.

Pump technology for pumping and moving water

Pumps traditionally used for maintenance of swimming pools without specific functions can be divided according to the principle of operation into centrifugal and vortex pumps.

Centrifugal and vortex pump units

Vortex pumps have a special impeller design called an impeller. The casing of the vortex pump tightly wraps around the impeller in diameter, but has a gap on the sides. When the impeller moves, the water flow swirls on the blades in the form of vortices, hence the name.

Due to the small clearance, the vortex pump is able to operate on a mixture of air and water. Peripheral pumps are able to start suction with little or no water, therefore, they do not require mandatory filling of the nozzle before starting work.

Due to the specifics of the vortex pump, the efficiency cannot exceed 60%. Vortex pumps are reversible - the ability to pump water in different directions

For vortex pumps are characteristic: high pressure at the outlet, increased operating noise, small volume of pumped water. Both types of pumps, without additional devices, cannot create a vacuum of more than 1 atmosphere, therefore they are limited to a head of 10 m, which is quite enough for servicing swimming pools.

Self-priming pumps are the most common, as they allow you to install them above or below the water level. This is especially true for frame and inflatable pools, when it is not possible to place equipment under the pool.

The self-priming pump is capable of drawing water from a height of three meters. However, it should be borne in mind that lifting water requires significant energy, so the pump should be installed as low as possible.

When choosing a pump, consider:

  • throughput of the filter elements. It must match the performance of the pump.
  • The diameter of the suction and discharge pipe.
  • The volume of pumped water meets sanitary standards.
  • Possibility of continuous operation.
  • Noise level.
  • Manufacturing material.

When choosing a pump, it is necessary to pay attention to the ease of maintenance of the unit. The presence of a viewing window helps to determine the filling of the filter.

Cases of self-priming pumps are made of reinforced plastic, shaft and fasteners are made of stainless steel.

Self-priming pumps are characterized by the ability to independently draw water from a depth. Modifications for swimming pools are equipped with an IP54 degree of protection, which allows operation in rooms with high humidity

Pump with filter element

Pumps with a filter element are most often used for ready-made pools: frame or inflatable. Such devices are equipped with an appropriate filter by the manufacturer. The simplest water treatment systems can do with only one pump of this type.

Filter elements are of several types:

  • sand pumps;
  • paper cartridges.

Paper cartridge pumps are suitable for smaller pools. Paper filters effectively purify water, but cannot provide a large volume of water. In addition, they often have to be changed, which has a bad effect on the cost of maintenance.

Sand filter pumps, or sand pumps, are more efficient and designed to handle large volumes of water. Water is passed through the quartz sand and all the dirt, even the smallest particles, settle in the sand. For the cleaning sand filter water is passed in the opposite direction and drained into the sewer.

Instead of quartz sand, other adsorbents can be used: glass sand, gravel, anthracite, carbon. Carbon-based filters are the most efficient.

When choosing a filter adsorbent, pay attention to the duration of work. For example, quartz sand needs to be changed once every three years, and glass sand once every five years. Additionally, ozonizers are installed on the sand pumps. Ozonizers kill microorganisms and further oxidize small particles of dirt, causing them to disintegrate.

The disadvantage of pumps with a filter element is that two filter devices and a pump are mounted in one housing. When one of the devices stops standing, you will have to buy both.

For normal operation, the pool needs a complex of pumping equipment, in which each unit performs its work (+)

Circulation pumps and their tasks

The circulation pump is one of the main units necessary for the normal functioning of the pool. The simplest artificial reservoir can be managed with one pump of this type. Responsible for creating a constant flow of liquid through the filter elements.

According to the sanitary standard, the circulation pump must have such a capacity as to pump at least 4 times the entire volume of pool water per day. As for inflatable or frame pools with one pump, its performance should be about ¼ of the volume of the pool per hour.

The pre-filter of the pumps consists of a mesh basket. To control the filling level, a viewing window is made on top

The circulation device used in the arrangement of the pool differs from other types of pumps in two ways, these are:

  • The presence of a filter element and material for the manufacture of the housing. It prevents large debris from jamming the pump impeller.
  • The resistance of the materials of the casing and the technical stuffing of the pump to corrosion and destructive oxidation occurring due to the use of disinfecting chemicals.

The circulation pump according to the pressure criteria should be selected depending on the degree of complexity of the equipped pool. A low-pressure machine is enough if only the movement of water is planned in the tank for distributing antiseptics and directing flows to the filters. Those wishing to organize their own water park should be interested in models with high pressure values.

Submersible pumps for pumping water

To pump water out of the pool, you can get by with a self-priming circulation pump. It must be borne in mind that self-priming pumps for inflatable and frame pools are not designed for continuous operation. Manufacturers do not recommend using more than once a week.

Specialized pumps for pumping water are submersible. They have wide intake windows and are able to pump out contaminated water with particles up to 5 cm. The pumps have a built-in automatic shutdown system in the absence of water. Able to pump out water up to 1 cm or less.

Household drainage pumps for universal use, as a rule, have a float that turns off the pump when the water level is 5-10 cm below the pump height. They cannot completely pump out water.

The submersible drainage pump for pumping water from the pool is equipped with a vertical outlet

Pump modifications without prefilters

Pumps without prefilters are used for large and stationary pools. Characterized by high power and performance. These pumps are used for:

  • circulation;
  • hydromassage;
  • waterfall;
  • fountain;

Pumps without a prefilter are used as an addition to an existing system. As an additional circulation pump or for organizing special areas in the pool.

Heat pumps for swimming pools

In most of our country, summer is coming to an end very quickly. During the night or in cloudy weather, the water in the pool cools down. It is expensive to heat a pool with traditional heaters.

How a heat pump works

The principle of operation of a heat pump can be clearly seen on the example of a household refrigerator. The composition of the heat pump includes: heat exchanger, compressor, evaporator.

Freon circulates in the heat pump system - a gas that can turn into a liquid state at room temperature. During the transition of the freon phase state, heat is taken from the environment and then the circulating water is heated in the heat exchanger. In short, the refrigerator is the opposite: the environment is cooled, the water is heated.

According to the interaction with the environment, there are three types of heat pumps: ground-water, water-water, air-water.

Pool heat pumps not only heat the water, but also maintain its stable temperature.

Heat pump selection criteria

Each type of pump has its own circuit installation rules. For ground-water pumps, horizontal or vertical pipes are required. In any case, pipe laying must be carried out at a depth of at least 2-3 meters - to the freezing depth. From above it is impossible to plant trees with a powerful root system.

Image Gallery

Water-to-water pumps use the energy of reservoirs. Such pumps are a profitable option, as they do not require earthworks previous type of pumps. In these systems, laying to a freezing depth of 2-3 meters is also required. The distance from the reservoir to the pool should not be more than 100 meters.

Air-to-water systems do not require complex piping and are easy to install. However, air-to-water pumps are less efficient, as they extract the thermal energy of the air and depend on its temperature at a particular time period.

When choosing an air-to-water heat pump, consider:

  • pump installation location (sun or shade);
  • average air temperature;
  • pool volume;
  • pool type (outdoor or indoor).

Regardless of the chosen heat pump system, on average, approximately 5-8 kW of thermal energy is generated per 1 kW of electricity consumed. Modern systems heat pumps are able to heat even open pool all year round.

Overview of heat pump models

The review includes air-to-water heat pumps, as the most simple to use and do not require special and complex calculations. There is no fundamental difference between heat pumps for home heating and swimming pool heating.

Backflow pumps

With a special backflow pump, you can also swim in a small, domestic pool. There are two types of counterflow pumps:

  • Mounted. Suitable for small seasonal pools. These are units that have everything in one: a pump, nozzles, lighting, handrails, automation and control. The advantage of this design is the ease of installation.
  • Embedded. Equipped with a suction mechanism capable of extracting water from above and below its level. They are more expensive and complex in design. They are mainly used in the arrangement of stationary pools.

When installing counterflows, you should pay attention to the water level: the level of the counterflow platform should be 120-140mm higher than the water level.

There are several varieties of water pumps, depending on the principle of operation and equipment, they are designed for different applications. For pumping water from pools and other containers in which the water is not clean, but not completely littered, there are self-priming drainage pumps. They have a special filter system that allows pumping out water with fine-grained debris, as well as a powerful motor that provides a high emptying speed.

The pump can be special, produced, as a rule, by pool manufacturers, or household, designed for widespread use. Depending on the cost of the reservoir, a water pump may be included, but this is in expensive frame models. The bulk of the units has one manufacturer, but is supplied separately.

There are two types of domestic drainage pumps that can be used to empty water.

For pools, they produce not only drainage pumps that can quickly drain water and at the same time clean the bottom, but also universal systems that operate in several modes:

Which is better for inflatable and other types of pool

The most common for country use are inflatable pools, recently they have been successfully crowded out from the positions of leaders by frame varieties. Both of them are characterized by mobility, they can be installed wherever you want, and ease of operation. In the middle of the season, if proper water treatment measures have not been taken, it may be necessary to drain the pool, or this will happen at the end of the bathing season, when it needs to be prepared for wintering. In any case, it is unrealistic to spit out several cubes with buckets, and water will not flow by gravity due to safety valves.

In addition, pool pumps are designed to operate at a minimum water level, while a submersible domestic drain will turn off automatically.

If you use a surface model purchased to care for the site, then it will pump out all the water. But as a vacuum cleaner it is inconvenient, because of the high power, it will empty half of the pool until it collects a handful of dirt from the bottom.

Buying optional equipment for the pool, be sure to pay attention to the power if the manufacturers are different. Within their line, companies produce units taking into account the performance of all models. When it comes to the drainage pump, it should be of high quality, with a plastic case. The manufacturer can be any, because the pump will not be included in the system.

Manufacturers

Pool pumps are produced by several companies, as a rule, these are manufacturers of pools and components.

When choosing a drainage pump, attention is paid not only to its power and performance, but also to the intended use. To drain the pool a couple of times a season, the cheapest, low-power model is enough. And if it is supposed to be used for household needs, it is worth buying a model with good throughput and a large working resource.

A pool pump for pumping out water is a useful device that significantly reduces the time and effort required to maintain the pool. Although it will cost several thousand rubles, this is not the kind of money for which it is worth equipping the whole family with buckets and spending a day on a manual drain. You might be wondering how to do it. Prices for vacuum cleaners for swimming pool intex you can see. Just like heating water in a swimming pool without electricity. Can be used.

If you have already installed the pool and use it with might and main, then you probably thought about how to properly store it after the summer season. Someone stops swimming after a short vacation, others rest in the country all summer, and someone is not afraid of the cold and agrees to take a dip in early autumn. You may even have heard stories about not taking anything apart at all and leaving it on the lot until next year. Is it so? Let's figure it out together.

First, let's clarify the question: Is it possible to leave water in the Intex pool for the winter? The answer is no, unless you want to repair the bowl next year. Our customers have done a similar experiment more than once, literally freezing a full font until next summer, and sometimes this experience was really successful, but in most cases people encountered various kinds of problems. The most insignificant inconvenience is the long thawing in the spring. Imagine a block of ice weighing several tons (and Intex has models with a larger volume) - even with a warm spring, it will melt for more than a day or two, and the resulting water will still have to be poured out and replaced - its quality will be unsuitable for bathing. But the main danger in cold weather is the risk of damage to the bowl made of PVC material, not intended for low temperatures. In the cold, it hardens and can easily break or crack, especially in the folds near the bottom. Remember - the liquid expands when it freezes, so the ice formed in the folds can easily damage the bottom and walls; We highly recommend not to additionally verify this on your own experience. Restrictions do not apply to frame racks - they can be kept in almost any conditions (the metal is resistant to corrosion and low temperatures).

We clean the pool for storage - step by step instructions.

1. Drain the water from the pool.

So, at the end of summer, it is better to remove the font. The first question on the agenda: you need to pour the contents. Depending on the size, it can splash from several hundred liters to tens of tons inside, and this is a fairly decent volume. There are two main ways to drain using different devices:

2. Wash and dry the bowl.

Having poured out the water, we proceed to the second stage. If you are the owner of a frame, then there will be no difficulties - by default it is in a straightened state on the racks. It can be easily washed and will air dry on its own. And if you have an Easy Set with an upper inflatable ring installed, then you probably noticed that without water inside, its bowl does not hold its shape and simply falls down. It is better to wash such models before draining in a filled state in order to clean off plaque from the walls and bottom. The Intex range includes straight and curved brushes with retractable holders, as well as ready-made convenient cleaning kits - ideal not only for maintaining cleanliness during the summer season, but also for preparing for seasonal storage. After draining, Easy Set should be dried by spreading it in the sun. You can use improvised means and build improvised spacers and hang material on them - it will dry faster. If you plan on drying on spacers, be careful not to puncture or tear the vinyl in the process.

3. Storage conditions.

And the last stage - we figure out how to store the pool in winter. The bowl should be handled carefully - carefully folded, sprinkled with talc (talc is used so that the rubberized material does not stick together), and be sure to store in a dry, warm room, preventing freezing. Temperature restrictions do not apply to the frame and components - sand pumps or chlorine generators can safely stand all winter in an unheated garage. It is the same with moisture protection - there will be no problems with storing the frame in a humid room in winter, but if you want to maximize the life of all parts - of course, it is better to find a dry place for all spare parts.

We hope the article helped you decide how to properly prepare all the components for seasonal storage. If you have any questions - call or write to us and the consultants of the store will answer them in detail.!

How to drain water from the pool? – read on Aquapolis.ru blog

Sooner or later, any type of artificial reservoir will require water to be drained.

Water drains:

At the end of the swimming season with severe turbidity and pollution, if its filtration is impossible when substances hazardous to people enter the water to eliminate breakages and repair coatings when the bowl is overflowing with rainwater

Small portable children's pools do not have a filtration system, so they need regular water changes. This is easy to do due to the small volume. Water can simply be drained onto the lawn, into a flower bed or other convenient place on the site.

Large structures require special fixtures and equipment, as well as the organization of water drainage.

Drainage is produced by:

Drainage pit into the garden Nearby reservoirs (reservoirs) Stormwater lines Central sewerage Special pit (septic tank)

Depending on the type and volume of the reservoir, the issue of drainage can be organized in different ways.

How to drain water from a frame pool

A non-stationary frame pool or a prefabricated pool is usually equipped with one or two drain holes, which allow drainage to be carried out quite easily.

To empty the bowl:

  • 1. We put a hose to the drain hole using a special adapter (if the adapter is not provided in the kit, you can buy it in a specialized store).
  • 2. We lower the second end of the hose into the water receiver (sewerage well, garden irrigation system, drain pit, etc.).
  • 3. Open the drain valve.
  • 4. After emptying the bowl, disconnect the adapter, hose.
  • 5. If there is no drain valve, a mains drain can be used.

How to drain water from an inflatable pool

PVC inflatable pool is very easy to free from water.

  • Very small ones can be emptied by hand by turning the bowl over the lawn.
  • In medium bowls, water is drained through a regular hose. One end is immersed in the pool, from the second the liquid is sucked into the hose and discharged by gravity from the tank according to the principle of communicating vessels.
  • If there is a drain valve, then a hose is connected to it and the water is sent to the selected place (garden, drain pit).
  • If the listed options are not available, pump out the water with a pump.

How to drain water from a stationary pool

A stationary outdoor pool (buried) according to the rules must have a circulation and drainage system, which is laid down at the initial stages of construction. It includes a skimmer, suction nozzles, drains or bottom nozzles. The water will drain on its own through the open drain hole. Also, there is usually a multi-mode valve on the filters that starts the discharge of water into the sewer. It is enough to select the valve mode (flushing / draining) and ensure that the hose (pipe) exits to the place where the liquid is drained (for example, a pit). After that, we start the filtration system with a pump and monitor the removal of liquid. When doing this, keep in mind that the water will be lowered to the level of the last suction nozzle in this way. The rest of the liquid is drained into the bottom hole or pumped out.

How to drain water from a Bestway pool

You can empty the bestway pool in the same way as with other similar models (see above):

  • there is a drain valve - open the plug and connect the hose;
  • partial descent of water - select the flush / drain mode on the tap of the filter tank and start the filtration;
  • drain is not provided, there is no filter with tap position “Drain” – pump out the water with an external pump.

The pool is a desirable accessory in summer season in any area. In order for the operation of the pool to always be comfortable, it is necessary to take care of it - change the water and clean it.

It is ideal to drain water into the sewer system, if any. You will not worry about the swampy area. However, on summer cottages there is rarely a centralized sewer, so draining large volumes of water can be a problem for users. Large volumes of water are usually treated with products based on chlorine, oxygen or bromine. The use of chemical water has a number of nuances and determines the method of disposal / processing of such a liquid.

Water is treated with chemicals:

  • In country houses, it is recommended to drain into a cesspool. But keep in mind that it may not be suitable for draining large pools, because. this may cause it to overflow.
  • In this case, equip a separate water intake for draining. The reservoir for water diversion is designed taking into account the volume of the pool (as a rule, the size of the water intake is calculated with a margin). This will allow you to drain the pool if necessary.

Chemistry is not used:

  • Organize a drain into natural reservoirs or arrange special ditches to distribute water throughout the site.
  • Pools can be an excellent source of water for watering plants and irrigation systems. This is especially true for arid zones and areas with a problematic water supply regime.
  • ! The volume of the pool bowl must be less than the volume of the drain pit or receiver into which the water is drained.
  • ! When connected to the sewer, the pipes must be sloped so that the water leaves and does not return. The drain pipe must be equipped with a valve.
  • ! Please note that the size of the pipe or hose (diameter) determines the rate of drainage.
  • ! If the water in the pool is treated with chemicals, then it cannot be used for irrigation, draining into ponds or other natural water bodies.
  • ! Drainage into water bodies is possible only if it does not contradict the environmental legislation adopted in the given region.

drain pump, sewerage features

A full-fledged capital pool is still a luxury that not everyone can afford. However, there are other types of home hydraulic structures that allow you to enjoy cool water on a hot summer day, or rinse after a bath.

Draining water from the pool is a mandatory stage in the operation of an artificial reservoir

However, when designing a pool on a site or in a house, one should not forget about such a moment as the ability to drain water. This is the most important stage in the operation of an artificial reservoir, without which long-term enjoyment of use is simply impossible. There are several ways to drain a pool. If desired, you can combine them, depending on the possibilities, situations and needs.

Why drain the water?

Some owners of houses with private pools are perplexed about the need to pump water from the reservoir. Basically they refer to the installed filtration system. They say the water enters the bowl clean. But this does not negate the fact that, according to the rules, the liquid in the pool must be cleaned / replaced once a season. However, there are circumstances that force owners to engage in such procedures more often.

Let's start with the fact that the discharge of water from the pool is partial and complete. And if you are the happy owner of such a structure, you need to know why this is being done at all.

Incomplete water intake from the pool bowl is required in only a few cases:

  1. During the operation of the pool, dust, leaves from trees, cones and other debris get into it. All this, as well as fat, hair and bacteria accumulate in the upper layers of the water. But if large particles can be regularly caught with a net, then the elusive eye remains and falls out in the form of calcium and greasy deposits on the waterline. If such an unpleasant rim has appeared in the pool, it must be removed. To do this, part of the water is drained, the walls and nozzles are thoroughly cleaned, deposits are removed, washed and fresh water is added again.
  2. Many pools are equipped with underwater lighting fixtures that have an unfortunate tendency to fail. To repair them, it is often necessary to make a partial water intake, and replenish the volumes after replacing the damaged part. In order not to engage in such procedures once again, choose illumination products that can be replaced directly in the water.
  3. The pool bowl itself can break and deteriorate. If this happens in its upper part, you can pump out water 5 cm lower from the point of failure. After completion of the restoration work, water is poured in again.
  4. If we are talking about skimmer pools without an organized bottom drain, then partial emptying must be done before conservation. This is necessary in order to prevent deformation of the structure in winter, when freezing groundwater begins to compress and act on the bowl buried in the ground.

Drainage of water from the pool is necessary when repairing (replacing) underwater lamps

A complete fence is made in the following cases:

  1. Competent preparation of the pool for wintering involves the complete pumping of the liquid. We must not forget about the remaining water in the filtration and heating systems. They also do a total cleaning of all nozzles, elements, walls and bottom from the formed plaque. It is also required to drain the water from the frame pool, the walls of which can simply burst from the pressure of ice in winter. The only exceptions are tanks made of frost-resistant materials.
  2. Restoration of the bottom and bottom parts of the bowl.
  3. There was a dead animal in the pool. In this case, it is necessary to empty the reservoir and arrange a total dry cleaning with mandatory disinfection.
  4. Major repairs or alteration of the pool.

How to drain water?

If you need to completely drain the liquid from the pool, hoses are usually connected to special outlet nozzles. However, this procedure is quite lengthy, especially if the swimming pool is supposed to be emptied.

How to drain water from an inflatable pool? Among all other types of bathing facilities, this is the easiest to do. You can simply open special valves. In this case, the liquid will spread over the area. If you connect garden hoses, you can direct the flow to the place you need. But how to quickly drain the water? There is an easy way:

  • put on high rubber boots used for fishing;
  • armed with an ordinary garden shovel;
  • the bayonet rests on the ground, and the stalk is placed on the side of the pool;
  • with a foot they press on the stalk, the side bends, the water pours out.

There is one nuance - the water will gush straight onto the ground or paving stones, where the building stood before all this action.

It is necessary to quickly drain the water from the frame pool if it is disassembled for transportation or when cold weather sets in and frost can hit at any moment. In this case, a hose system is also used. However, automation is used to speed up the process. Without a medium spread, the tank will empty in about 10 hours. And with it, the time is determined directly by the power of the device.

Excess water from the frame pool, if there is anything left, can be easily selected manually with a bucket, and then clean and disassemble the frame itself.

Capital swimming pools quickly, in the usual sense of the word, it will not be possible to merge for technical reasons. Usually their cubic capacity is quite impressionable, therefore even an equipped drain into the sewer will not allow water to leave, well, very quickly. Yes, and this is dangerous, given the sharp change in internal and external pressure on the walls and bottom of the tank. If all the liquid is taken too quickly, small cracks can go through the bowl, which over time will bring a lot of problems.

Where to drain water?

How to drain the water from the pool, everyone will be able to guess without special problems. Another, and more important question - where to put all this wealth if you have a 20 m² pool with a mirror in your country house? Yes, the question is not idle, but there is an answer to it.

You can pump water out of the pool:

You can pump water from the pool into a cesspool

  1. into the sewer;
  2. in a special receiver;
  3. in a natural reservoir;
  4. into a cesspool;
  5. in the storm system;
  6. to the site.

To determine the most suitable choice for your particular case, site, pool, you need to study each option in detail.

Drain into the sewer

The most correct and easiest way for constant use is an organized drain for the pool into the central sewer, this is like a water pipe. This option assumes that you will not worry about the fact that the water contains chlorine, softeners, salts and other additives that are dangerous to the environment. All this will safely retire to the city receiver, where it will undergo further cleaning.

What else is good to use the sewer? You do not flood a carefully cherished lawn, do not poison the flowers planted in the flower bed, do not moisten the garden to the state of a swamp, do not quarrel with neighbors about excess moisture from your territory. But the main thing is that you have no problems with the city SES and other authorities.

Sewer drain feature

How to make such a positive drain from all sides? It is necessary to make a drain hole in the pool bowl itself, as in a bathroom, and then it can be drained without a pump. Drainage pipes are connected to it, which are laid in the ground in the direction of the main highway.

Water drainage is well thought out if the diameter of the pipes corresponds to the volumes of liquid passing through them per unit of time. The most suitable section is 110–150 mm. Pipes are laid under a slope prescribed for the selected diameter. The emptying rate is also affected by the distance from the pool to the receiver, as well as the number of turns of the pipe itself. As with domestic sewers, try to avoid "wobbles" in the sewer system.

In this way, you can drain the pool of any type and size. It’s just that for home and capital it is necessary to make a stationary water drainage system, and from an inflatable or frame water can be led directly into the sewer manhole.

Important! When connecting automation, carefully monitor the amount of water poured into the system per unit of time.

The laws of the municipality may provide for the maximum permitted volume of liquid discharged into city receivers. You can find out about the restrictions in the relevant organization, and to fulfill the conditions, select a pumping pump of suitable power.

Withdrawal to the receiver

What to do if there is no central sewerage on the site or nearby? And it does happen, too. There is a great option for organizing a special receiver. However, it should be understood that in one fell swoop for a couple of hours of normal size, the pool cannot be drained into it.

The receiver should be made below the level of the bottom of the reservoir. It is even better if, according to the terrain, it is slightly lower than the place where the pool itself is located.

For the receiver, they dig a hole in the ground with an average volume of 1 cubic meter. The pit is lined with bricks in such a way that there are gaps between the blocks. Such a grid will allow water to seep into the ground unhindered. Broken bricks and crushed stone are poured at the bottom for drainage. The cover of the receiver must be strong. A tube is mounted in it to remove air from the pit. The hatch is laid on a pit, fixed, and covered with earth.

The pipe supply from the pool to the made receiver can be carried out both permanently underground and on the surface. Simply in this case, a tube is removed through the hatch, to which, if necessary, a drain hose will be connected.

For irrigation of the site

Water from the pool can be watered flower beds on the site

If your site has a relatively small inflatable or frame pool, you can use the water wisely, you just need to know where to drain it. To do this, hoses and a medium power pump are connected to the outlet nozzles so that the jet does not turn out to be too strong. With this water, you can water the beds, flower beds, lawn, shrubs, fruit trees, wash the paving stones in the yard, and so on. But calculate the volume of water so as not to flood your garden to the state of a swamp.

You can just scatter the hoses around the site and go about your business. This is true more for the autumn plum. But again, this is done only with small, children's pools.

Tip: so that the water from the hose does not wash away the soil, a piece of zinc sheet is placed under its end.

Important! For watering the garden or discharging water into the ground, only water that has not undergone chemical treatment with chlorine, has not been contaminated with all kinds of salts, acids and other disinfectants, cleaning or cosmetics is used!

Drain into a pond

If you have a river running nearby, there is a pond, or a ravine lurks behind the site, you can also pump water there. The procedure is no different from dumping into a receiver or into a garden. The only condition is that the distance to the drain point does not exceed 25 m, otherwise the water will leave very badly, or not at all.

But do not forget that only clean water from hazardous chemicals can be discharged into the environment!

Storm drainage

For owners of a site with an equipped storm drain, the problem of draining an outdoor pool practically ceases to exist. Why flood the site and neighbors, suffer with digging a hole, if the system for removing excess fluid is already ready? Just lower the sump pump into the pool, run the hoses from the tank to the drains, and check periodically to make sure the water isn't flowing too fast.

Water in a cesspool

Some decide to drain the water from the pool into their own septic tanks and cesspools. In principle, this is realistic if the volume of the reservoir does not exceed one cubic meter. Otherwise, the otkhodnik will simply fill up in an instant, and you will have to call the sewer truck to free the whole thing.

cleaning

There are many ways to take water from the pool, but you need to know how to clean it so that you can safely drain the liquid into a ditch or garden without pain for nature. To do this, organize a pre-cleaning system through overflow wells with a sump and a drainage pit. Or use special filters for waste water in the pool. The latter is even preferable, because it does not require digging and spoiling appearance well-groomed area.

How to drain water from a pool

When planning and installing a swimming pool, one of the most difficult moments is deciding where to drain the water from the pool. With a children's or a small frame pool, this is not such a big problem, i.e. water can be drained simply to the garden. But if you have several tons of water, then the garden can simply drown, provided that the home pool needs to be drained quickly.

Where to drain water from the pool in the country

1. The easiest way is to bring the pool drain into the sewer, if any. This is possible even with small frame pools. If you are thinking about how to quickly drain the water from the pool, then consider the diameter of the pipes, the correct slope and proximity to the sewer.

How to drain a frame pool

Organization of draining water from the pool.

The construction of swimming pools in private households is very popular today. They are erected both on the territory of the site for seasonal recreation, and indoors, so that you can swim all the time.

Modern systems and technologies of water treatment allow you to fill the tank once and for a long time. However, during the operation of an artificial water area, there may be cases when it is necessary to drain a certain amount of water or drain the entire bowl.

Partial or complete draining of water from the pool is carried out:

  • for mechanical and chemical cleaning of the waterline;
  • for repairing cracks in the bowl of stationary and temporary objects;
  • in preparation for the winter of temporary structures;
  • if the contamination of the liquid filling the tank is too high.

The issue of drainage for owners of home pools is always relevant. After all, even the most modest body of water displaces a decent amount of water that needs to be put somewhere, but in large pools there are just tons of it.

In the private sector, there are several ways to drain the pool without violating existing standards and spending a minimum of time and effort on it.

The choice of one or another option should be foreseen at the planning stage of the construction of such an object in order to ensure the best result in the future.

Consideration should be given to indicators such as the final discharge point, the volume of liquid drained at the same time, and the expected frequency of change.

Drainage

Pool bowls can hold different amounts of liquid. The larger the capacity, the more problematic it is to drain.

Depending on the size of the tank and the available technical capabilities, there are several options for where to drain the water from the pool so that this event does not turn into a strength test for the owner.

If the site is connected to the central sewerage system, then the issue of discharge is clearly resolved in favor of this option. It is possible to equip such a drain for any type of structure.

Most of all, it is suitable for stationary structures of a closed and open type, but seasonal frame and inflatable models it is also quite possible to empty in this way. It is only necessary to bring a pipeline of the appropriate diameter, and connect the pool to the main line.

The presence in the district of ravines, gullies, natural reservoirs allows the possibility of draining water from the pool directly there, if the distance from the house to the place of discharge is small.

This can be done without additional purification of the liquid. According to sanitary standards, it is considered clean and does not harm the environment.

Another option is to build a special drain pit of such a volume as to accommodate required amount drains. At the same time, to ensure good absorbency, the lower edge of the well pit should rest against a sandy or gravel layer of soil.

Drainage of used water can also be arranged in a septic tank, but it should be connected through a special pit or well in order to prevent accidental ingress of sewage into the pool tank.

It is preferable to use the last stage of the septic tank for discharge and not overload the system with a one-time descent of a large amount of liquid at once.

Water from small structures can be used to irrigate existing plants on the site, but only if it does not contain chemicals.

Impurities of chlorine and other cleaning agents are harmful to many crops. However, this method is good because it allows you to save money by using the same water twice.

Pool dehumidification

Many owners are also interested in the question of how to drain water from their pool. Here, too, everything is individual.

For small inflatable and frame structures, a garden hose will suffice, one end of which is connected to the drain hole at the bottom of the bowl, and the other is sent to the discharge point.

If the structure is installed above the receiving tank, the liquid must be drained by gravity.

To lower medium-sized temporary and stationary open-type water reservoirs, submersible pumps are used, which pump out the liquid forcibly and transport it to the collection point.

It will not work to completely drain the pool using this method, but it saves a lot of time. In addition, this is the only option if the artificial reservoir is below the sewer.

Drainage of water in the pool located indoors is carried out only with the help of stationary pumps. They are installed in the technical room during the construction of the facility and switched on as needed.

It is necessary to completely remove the water at the end of the bathing season only in temporary structures. Freezing water in such a container may cause damage to the housing and premature failure of the product.

Yes, and according to the instructions, they should not be stored on the street, but in the utility room when folded.

In stationary open-type pools, it is not recommended to completely drain the water for the winter. When preparing an object for winter, experts advise first draining the bowl, plugging all supply and drain pipes, and then filling the tank with 50% clean water.

This will compensate for the pressure of the frozen soil on the walls of the pool and prevent its deformation. For any type of pool, the water drain system must be thought out flawlessly. Only then will its operation be long and comfortable.

Where to drain water from the pool in the country

Where to drain water from the pool in the country? For small pools, this is easy to do with a hose directly into the garden. This is of course not a problem if the water has not been chemically treated. But if you diligently used bleach or other substances, then of course the plants in the garden will simply die.

A big plus of small reservoirs is that usually the water in them is not treated with anything. And in the absence of water in the country, this is an excellent supply of liquid for watering the garden or washing hands. As for large pools, then, as a rule, they practically do not change the water in them. Or once every three years. It undergoes daily mechanical and chemical cleaning. But if the need for this nevertheless arose, then where can the water from the pool be drained?

ADVICE! Don't drain your pond or pool daily or monthly. Since uncontrolled discharge of water into the ground can lead to waterlogging of the soil.

Where can you drain the water from the pool

  1. To begin with, consider the option that your pool is small and located in a convenient location on a site next to a ravine. Then the pool water in the country can be drained into a ravine. This can be done without special permissions. Since the water from the pool, according to sanitary standards, is considered clean. And does not harm the environment.
  2. The second option is the most correct. This is a drainage hole. It is designed at the stage of digging a pit. The drain pit can be located under the pool itself or next to it. Its depth should be greater than the bowl itself. In this case, you do not have to think about where to put dirty water, but it is convenient to drain it into the drain. The bottom of the drain pit should be earth or sandy. In order for the water to soak in, it is necessary to drain the water from the pool in parts.
  3. Another option is central sewerage. This is the most convenient way. But you have to run around to various authorities and get permission. To do this, you must initially have a project for the future pool. This method is used for large scale public pools. But if your site is already connected to the central drain of the liquid, then you can easily run into storm drains and drain pipes from the pool.

ADVICE! Water in large volumes can only be received by a centralized sewerage system. If your pool is located in the country, then, as a rule, an autonomous sewage system, and the septic tank is probably not designed for such a volume. It will simply choke, and it will be necessary to immediately pump out the liquid.

How to drain water from a pool.

  • The easiest way to drain water from the pool in the country. By gravity. One end of the hose is in the water, the other is in the place for draining. But this method is for small pools. Even a pool of several cubes will drain all day long.
  • The second way is with a pump. It will quickly pump out water and save your time. Pumping units are a must for larger pools. In addition, as a rule, the bowl is installed below the storm sewer, and it will not work to release the water by gravity. Submersible or stationary pumps empty the pool almost completely. And they can drain both clean and very polluted water.

automatic system, standard, garden, reservoir, septic tank

Draining the water from the pool is one of the most important processes for its use, so it must be thought out in advance. High-quality work of the drain will be ensured only if it fully complies with the type of structure, its location, as well as sanitary and technical standards.

It is possible to arrange several types of waste water drainage from the pool, each of which directly depends on many factors. Here, it is required to take into account the contamination of the liquid, its volume, the frequency of draining, the distance to the place of water intake.

Standard water drain

by the most in a simple way drain water from the pool is the drain supply to the sewer. It is possible to organize and equip everything not only with stationary structures inside the house or capital, detached buildings, but also with small inflatable and frame models.

To do this, you will only need to install a drain in the pool itself, make a connection to the sewer, run the pipes and lay them in the right direction and with a certain slope. The liquid will leave faster if the diameter of the labor is correctly selected and the distance to the sewer will be minimal.

Drainage to the garden and beds

When using small pools, such as frame or generally inflatable for children, the drain often occurs simply in the garden or in the garden of the land. The task is simplified if the structure is located on a slight slope or near drainage pits and ditches. Thus, you can simply open the discharge valve or take the hose from it to the required place, and soon the waste water will leave the tank by gravity, and you can replace it with clean water.

Also, for this process, you can also use a medium power pump, which will help convert the water from the pool into an excellent pressure for watering flower beds and beds.

Draining water into a septic tank

Experts do not recommend draining fluid from the pool into septic tanks and cesspools, since literally in one discharge you can completely fill the volume. Another thing is if the drain is organized into a special pit for draining wastewater, which will be dug to a depth below the level of the tank, and preferably to the sand and gravel soil layer. In this case, the contents of the structure will leave much faster, and if you use the pit strictly for its intended purpose, it will be able to help you with a quality drain.

Drainage from the pool to the reservoirs

From the side of organizing such a drain, everything is very simple and even inexpensive, but from the side of the legality and ethical standards of a civilized person, it is, of course, worth thinking about. Naturally, it is possible to equip the drainage of waste water into a river or lake, but only if the liquid does not contain a large amount of chemicals.

Cleansing activities

In this case, it would be nice to use special filters for pools, which will be responsible for the purity of waste water, or special settling wells. We also recommend that you communicate with the services of your region that oversee such issues in order not to run into large fines for environmental pollution.

Stock system automation

Automated drainage of water from the structure is possible in any of the above cases, and it is even recommended to increase the rate of emptying the structure and the ability to reuse the liquid (if it does not contain a lot of chemicals).

For this, you should consider special drainage pumps as well as filtration equipment. We recommend that you read the material about errors when installing pools.

Sooner or later, any type of artificial reservoir will require water to be drained.

Water drains:

at the end of the bathing season with severe turbidity and contamination, if its filtration is not possible when substances hazardous to humans enter the water for troubleshooting and repairing coatings when the bowl overflows with rainwater

How to drain water from a stationary pool

Stationary (buried) according to the rules must have a circulation and drainage system, which is laid at the initial stages of construction. It includes suction nozzles, drains or bottom nozzles. After that, we start with the pump and monitor the removal of liquid. When doing this, keep in mind that the water will be lowered to the level of the last suction nozzle in this way. The rest of the liquid is drained into the bottom hole or pumped out.

How to drain water from a Bestway pool

You can empty it in the same way with other models similar in design (see above):

  • there is a drain valve - open the plug and connect the hose;
  • partial descent of water - select the flush / drain mode on the tap of the filter tank and start the filtration;
  • drain is not provided, there is no filter with tap position “Drain” – pump out the water with an external pump.

Where to drain water from the pool in the country

A swimming pool is a desirable accessory in the summer season in any area. In order for the operation of the pool to always be comfortable, it is necessary to take care of it - change the water and clean it.

It is ideal to drain water into the sewer system, if any. You will not worry about the swampy area. However, suburban areas rarely have centralized sewerage, so draining large volumes of water can be a problem for users.

This will allow you to drain the pool if necessary.

not used:

Buying an inflatable pool is a convenient and inexpensive way to make summer more comfortable. But it must be periodically drained and washed. How to properly dispose of water in such a pool - later in the article.

When is the pool drained?

The water from the inflatable pool has to be drained at least once - when it is removed for storage. But in practice, this has to be done repeatedly. Drain the water if:
  1. It got colder and no one will use it until the summer.
  2. The water is cloudy and contaminated, and it cannot be filtered.
  3. Substances that pose a health hazard have entered the water, therefore it is necessary.
  4. It is necessary to repair damage or repair coatings.
  5. The bowl overflowed after heavy rains.
  6. The pool is leaking and needs to be repaired.

You can drain the water using a medium power pump, which will transfer water that has become unnecessary to flower beds or beds.

There are two options for draining water:
  • full - you have to resort to it if you need to change the water or remove the pool for storage;
  • partial - they can be dispensed with if necessary, for example, to wash the dirty bezel that appeared on the walls.

Drain methods

How to drain water? The choice depends on the design and dimensions of the inflatable pool. A small pool can be lifted and freed from water. With a large pool you have to tinker.

In the pool, depending on the volume, it can be from several hundred liters to tens of tons. Where to put such an abyss of water? A flower bed or a lawn is indispensable here. You can drain water from pools in the following ways:

  1. Open drain valve. You can find it at the bottom of the bowl. The valve allows you to drain the liquid by connecting a regular hose with which you water the garden. Hoses come in different diameters, but, as a rule, pools are equipped with special nozzles - with their help, you can connect a hose of any diameter. The condition for draining with hoses through the valve is that the drain point must be lower than the valve, since water flows due to the difference in levels. Drainage speed depends on the diameter of the hose.
  2. Use a submersible pump. If, by draining the water with a hose, you run the risk of flooding the neighbors or the street, you will have to use method number 2. Thanks to a small pump - for example, "Brook" or "Kid", you can pump water into the sewer system.
  3. Manual drain. Only suitable for small pools.

Where to drain water?

Water from small portable pools for domestic use must be drained manually or drained to a suitable place. Suitable for this purpose:
  • lawn or flower bed;
  • drain hole;
  • water bodies - if available nearby;
  • downpour;
  • central sewerage;
  • special hole.
The choice of a drain site depends on:
  • features of the site - its design, the presence of garden plantings, etc.;
  • location of the pool.

How to drain water from a small pool?

A small PVC pool is easy to empty. There are several methods - the choice depends on the availability of fixtures and the size of the bowl.

Manual drain

Try draining the water by hand - just turn the bowl over so that the water spills onto the grass. You must be sure that you will not harm your neighbors.

Through the hose

If the bowl is larger - and you can’t turn it over with your hands, use a hose. The liquid will flow by itself. Procedure:
  1. Lower one end of the hose to the bottom of the bowl.
  2. Secure the end of the hose in the water. You can press down with something, but so as not to block the flow of liquid.
  3. To start the liquid moving, use the suction method. The second option is to pour water into the other end through a funnel. Pushing through the air, in one way or another, they achieve that the water goes by gravity.
If the pool has a drain valve, then the hose is connected to it.
If the water contains "chemistry", it is hardly suitable for watering plants, it is better to pour it into the sewer.

How to drain water from a large pool?

If there is a lot of water, you will have to use a submersible drainage pump. It will take time to pump out the water, so start draining early - to get it done before dark. In addition to the pump, you will need long hoses, their length should be enough to drain. Step-by-step instruction:
  1. Install the pump and connect the hose.
  2. Decide where to drain the water. There is a lot of it, so you can’t just pour it into the yard or into the street. And if the water contains chlorine, salt, then it will harm those plants that do not tolerate these components - for example, citrus fruits. The best option for draining large volumes of disinfected water is a sewer hatch.
  3. The draining process must be monitored. Its duration is affected by the speed of the pump and the volume of the pool.
  4. Pour the sides of the pool with a hose to wash away the dirt. Wipe dirty areas with a brush.
  5. When the pump has pumped out everything it can, there will still be some water left in the pool. How much the pump can pump out depends on the depth of the pool. Scoop out the rest with buckets.
After the water is drained, it is necessary to clean the bottom. This is done with a hose - if the pool is not equipped with special equipment for cleaning the bottom.

The owner of the frame pool tells how to speed up the draining of water. You will see how much water is in the pool, and what troubles await you with a quick drain, even if your pool is inflatable:

Why is it necessary to drain the water for the winter?

Some owners of large pools are tempted not to drain the water for the winter. There are cases when the pools were not cleaned, leaving everything as it is. It is absolutely impossible to do this for the following reasons:
  1. The water will freeze and turn into an ice block, which will thaw for a long time in the spring.
  2. The thawed water will still have to be drained - it will be unsuitable for swimming.
  3. The main danger is damage to the PVC bowl. This material does not tolerate low temperatures - it cracks in frost. Usually cracks occur at the bend - at the bottom of the pool. When the liquid freezes, it expands and can damage both the bottom and the walls.
Frame racks are made of metal, so they can not be removed - the material from which they are made is not subject to corrosion processes and is resistant to cold.

What else needs to be considered when draining?

When draining water, it is important to consider whether it contains chemicals or not:
  1. Contains. In this case, the drain is made only into the sewer or cesspool. In the latter case, it is necessary to take into account the volume of the drained liquid - but will it fit in the pit? If it does not fit, you will have to equip a special water intake.
  2. Does not contain. You can safely merge into the garden, vegetable garden, natural reservoir. From the pool you can take water for watering plants - convenient!

How to wash and store the bowl?

After draining the water, you need to rinse the bowl inside. If the pool is framed, this is easy to do - it is straightened out on racks, so washing it is not difficult. After washing, the bowl will dry under the sun.

If the pool is not framed, and after emptying it turns into a “rag”, it is better to wash it while it is full. This is done with special brushes - they usually come with the kit.

If you decide to remove the inflatable pool, you need to properly store it:

  1. Fold the pool carefully - it should not be thrown "lump".
  2. Sprinkle its surface with talcum powder - this will not allow the rubberized material to stick together.
  3. Keep the pool warm and dry. But the frame - if there is one, pumps and chlorine generators can stand in unheated rooms.
Do not rush to drain the water, think about its quality and where it can be drained without creating problems for yourself and your neighbors. Having thought over your actions, you will protect your yard from troubles, and will not harm green spaces.
