What is the MFA system at the cat show. International Felinological Association

EXHIBITION CLASSES, EVALUATIONS, TITLES

At the exhibition, all thoroughbred cats are divided into:

* breed groups
* breeds
* colors
* exhibition classes
* cats and cats.

Breed groups:

1. LH (longhair) - PER, EXO
2. SLH (semi-longhair) - SIB, MCO, NFO, RAG, NEV, SBI, TUA, SOM

4. CO (Siamese-Oriental) - SIA, BAL, ORI, JAV
5. 5th (mixed) - CRX, DRX, DSX, PTB, SPH, KBT, AMC

Thus, competition and comparison for marks and titles at the show is between animals of the SAME breed group, SAME breed, SAME color, SAME show class, same sex. A British blue cat kitten competes only with a British blue cat breed for the right to receive the highest mark in its class. The division into COLORS - CLASSES - SEX is in each breed. The difference is that some breeds may have many colors (PER, BRI, SFS), while others may have fewer or even one (RUS - blue, BOM - black).

Domestic cats compete with each other in the "Domestic Cats" class, receive the "Domestic Cat I", "Domestic Cat II" arrangement, etc., and are nominated for the "Best Domestic Cat of the Show" contest.

Neutered cats and males are called "newer" (with pedigrees) participate in the respective classes, for adult cats with the replacement of the term "Champion" (Champion) for "Premior" (Premior) - CAP - Candidate a Premior, etc. Nominated for the competition "Best Neuter of the Show".

In accordance with international norms and rules, cats (without documents) are examined in the following classes:
* breed definition - for cats older than 10 months without documents of origin (open only for SIB, NEV, EUR, TUA, KBT);
* beginners - confirmation of the intended breed (open only for SIB, NEV, EUR, TUA, KBT);
* class of domestic cats (for animals of unknown origin).

In the IFA, any cat without documents of origin is considered domestic, regardless of the presence of obvious signs of a particular breed. Also, for them, flaws are acceptable that are unacceptable for thoroughbred animals: knots and kinks of the tail, polydactyly, inversion of the eyelids, permanent strabismus, facial asymmetry, undershot bite, overshot bite of more than 2 mm. Because Domestic Cats may have been picked up on the street in the past, there is no penalty in the assessment for the consequences of the injuries that have occurred - missing ears, docked tail, etc. Animals under the age of 10 months may participate in exhibitions without being castrated, but for adults, castration is prerequisite. In the catalog of the exhibition, the domestic cat is designated as PET. All exhibitors undergo a written examination with a description and receive marks according to the approved standard.

Judging order
All cats undergo a written examination with a description and placement within their show class. 1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 9 points, etc. These points count towards TITLES.

Exhibition classes at home:

Best domestic junior 6-10 months Open - from 10 months (only spayed and casted animals)
Companion = CN
Silver Companion = SCN
Golden Companion = GCN

Title system
Open Class - All PETs over 10 months old are eligible.

To obtain SCN, GCN and PCN certificates, points are accumulated from 0 (zero points) after the previous class is closed. It is impossible, being a Companion and having received one victory, to become Gold, bypassing Silver and being Silver, having received 3 victories, to become Platinum without passing Gold.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURE

The exhibition begins with a veterinary examination - cats disqualified at a veterinary examination are not allowed to the exhibition, the money for the examination is not returned. On registration, the participant receives: number, catalog, other information. Those who are late for registration for judging are not allowed and can be judged at the end of all judging. Before the start of the examination, the owner must check the information on his cat with the catalog data (breed, color, most importantly - the exhibition class) and, if there are inaccuracies, fill out a special form, entering the correct information into it, and submit it to the secretariat. The Secretariat allocates special time before the start of judging to make corrections.

Examination at the exhibition is carried out in accordance with international rules - i.e. anonymously. The judge has no right to know other information about the cat, except for that which is in the evaluation sheet (breed, color, sex, date of birth, show class). In exceptional cases (clarification of color, age) a pedigree can be presented. The expert judges the cat in accordance with the breed indicated in the evaluation sheet (application), the expert cannot transfer the cat from one breed to another. An expert can transfer a cat from one color to another, arguing his decision in writing. The judge judges the cat in accordance with the specified show class (checking the correct entry in the show class is determined by the secretariat), except for the incorrectly indicated age (kittens, young). An expert is not obliged to judge an aggressive cat - an animal that cannot be examined and felt is considered aggressive. Judgment of cats without examination (in a cage, in the hands of a breeder) is prohibited. In case of disqualification of a cat, its removal from judging, the money for the examination is not returned. The expert's assessment is not subject to appeal and re-judging (with the exception of secretariat errors).

The examination can take place both in writing and orally, without evaluation sheets, but always with a summary sheet.

Registration for the exhibition is made on the basis of the application form, filled in by the participant of the exhibition according to the pedigree. Enrollment in the title classes is made only upon presentation of the relevant certificates. "Frequently Asked Questions" from members of other clubs and systems

1.Can I take part in MFA shows with the pedigree of another club? Do I need to register with the MFA club?

The IFA recognizes pedigrees and other tribes. documents WCF-FIFE-TICA-CFA-ICU-OFA In order to take part in IFA shows, it is enough to have a document confirming the origin of the cat (metric - up to 10 months) or pedigree (from 10 months) Join the IFA club to participate not required for exhibitions.

2. I have a cat - Int. Ch. WCF. What title should I apply for at MFA?

The IFA recognizes system title certificates. having similar title systems (WCF, FIFe) If you have a title certificate of these systems, you can enroll in the appropriate class.

3. WCF does not take into account marks from IFA shows. Does this mean my titles are gone?
Each system has its own rules. You can apply for WCF titles in WCF certificates, and MFA titles - in MFA certificates - in parallel, pursue a career in two systems.

4. My cat has the title of World Champion - WCF. Can I enroll in the Honor class at IFA shows?
World Champion is a title that only WCF registers. Therefore, you can get an honorary class for this title at WCF shows. At MFA shows, we can enroll you in the class "Absolute Champion of the MFA"

5. How can I register scores from IFA shows and get a title certificate?
The title certificate for MFA CHAMPION is issued by the club. You can contact the club that held the exhibition and get a certificate there. As for the titles of Int. champ. and above - you can also apply for this title through any MFA club by providing copies of the evaluation and your application. All titles, starting with the International Champion, are issued at the ONE center of the IFA Tribal Commission.

6. I am a member of an independent club - can I enter the MFA at the Grand Intl. Champion?
Registration in the title classes - CACIB and above is made if the breeder has TITLE CERTIFICATES for this title, issued by the IFA - WCF - FIFE. This is a requirement for breeders of any system, as well as independent clubs.

On this moment the Levkoy breed in the IFA has the status of "unrecognized" You can exhibit in the class "unrecognized breeds" get grades - without titles and nominations

8. I have a peterbald cat. For some reason, they didn’t compare her with Siamese on Best.
In the IFA, there is another division of groups by breed: ALL Sphynxes are included in the FIFTH group. The CO group is ONLY Siamese-Oriental-Balinese-Javanese

9. M oy British cat became the best in the monobreed ring. But the judge did not nominate her for Best. How can this happen?
Monobreed ring is a choice of 10 best cats of this breed in the ring with this judge. Your cat has become the best representative of the breed by the judge. But at the BEST, the judge is NOT obliged to choose exactly your British breed and its best. He can choose - Abica, Russian Blue, Bengal, etc. But on the other hand, if he wants to nominate a BRITISH breed, he MUST choose only your cat.

10. There were two judges on the Best. One voted for my number, another judge for another number. Somehow won the number for which the other judge voted. Why didn't they draw lots??
Lots have not been drawn at IFA exhibitions since 2001. The license for the exhibition indicates the SENIOR judges for breed groups. In case of disagreement - like yours - decides Art. breed group judge

11. In the invitation to the exhibition, a monoprodka for the British was indicated. But for some reason, we were not invited to the stage.
IFA rules for holding monobreed rings:
- all cats of this breed participate at no extra charge
- for a monobreed ring, at least 7 cats of this breed are required
- nominated - kittens - young (with grades ETL 1) - adults (with titles)

- ONLY winners of the monobreed ring are invited to the award - 10 (or 7) cats

12. My kitten got "excellent" from the judge - why wasn't he nominated for Best in Show?
The nomination can only be given to kittens (or young ones) with a score of "personally 1", and adults - with a title. If your kitten has not received a STRATEGY (i.e. 1) it means. that he has some problems or shortcomings
13. The judge did not give me a title. How can I appeal his assessment?
The assessment of the expert is not subject to appeal - only re-judging is possible due to a technical error of the secretariat. The judge does not have to judge your cat. but must explain his assessment.

14. I took part in TIKA exhibitions. How can I get scores for an MFA title?
Unfortunately not. TIKA is an American system, with its own standards, which are different from European ones, with its show classes, which are different from European ones. In IFA title certificates, only assessments of systems that have similar standards and show mechanics - WCF and FIFE are taken into account

15. Moscow will host world exhibition WCF. Will the scores be counted for Muscovites as away ones?

No, according to the rules of the IFA, grades obtained in another region (CAGCIB, CACE) or in another city of the same region (CACIB) are considered to be field grades

16. My cat took part in the WCF monobreed ring, as well as in the Master ring. How will these wins be counted for the MFA rankings? WCF Monobreed Rings is a paid competition, in which only those cats that have paid for it take part. Therefore, not the best of the entire exhibition win, but the best of those who paid for the competition. Wins in paid competitions in the MFA are not counted as not reflecting real competition.

17.My cat took part in your exhibitions and scored quite a lot of points. Will these scores be taken into account for the annual ranking of the MFA?
The MFA Annual Ranking is a Choice
- best representatives breeds
- Best of Breed - regional - for Russia

- Best of Breed - International
among the Best of Breed - international is selected:
- 10 kittens

- 10 newters

cat owners from other systems are nominated for the competition "GUEST IFA"

“My cat has a pedigree, which means she is purebred – so why should I go to the show?”
A pedigree is just a STATEMENT of the origin of a cat, an officially certified list of its relatives. Of course, kittens are activated in the club - i.e. examine, determine sex, color, presence of defects, shortcomings, etc. But often with age, the type of kitten changes, defects or shortcomings that were not determined during activation may appear. There are frequent cases when the color was incorrectly determined at the first activation. Sometimes there are cases of abnormal development of the skeleton - jaws, teeth, deformation of the skull, tail, etc. Therefore, before mating, a cat, and even more so a cat, must be set out. The judge will make a description of the cat, point out the merits, and most importantly, the FAULTS of the cat (there are no ideal animals), so it is necessary to select a pair taking into account these shortcomings.

“My cat behaved badly at the exhibition - hissed, biting ... The judge removed her from the examination. Can we try exhibiting one more time?"
Aggressive behavior of cats at exhibitions has different reasons: the cat is afraid of noise, other animals, a large room. The cat does not feel well, something hurts, etc. In order for the animal to calmly perceive the exhibition atmosphere, it is necessary to accustom it to exhibitions in advance - to start an exhibition career from the young class, for example. Much depends on heredity, and on the upbringing of the cat, and on the organization of the exhibition - noise, loud music, stupidly rushing about stewards, a nervous owner ... Of course, you can try your luck again, but we must remember that according to the rules of almost all international systems the expert is not obliged to examine the aggressive cat.

“I need to leave the exhibition before it ends - can I pass the examination out of turn?”
At the exhibition, all animals are divided into breeds - within the breed - into colors - within the color - into show classes - within the show class - into cats and cats. Competition takes place within each class between cats - of the same breed - of the same color - of the same class - of the same sex (for example - British - blue - kitten class - cats, or: Siberian - black tabby - CACIB class - cats). Therefore, in order to receive its mark, the cat must be judged (and compared) along with other cats of the same class. The order of judging is drawn up in advance by the secretariat and placed in the catalog and on the stand. Therefore, the presence at the exhibition is mandatory from the very beginning to the end. Animal that did not appear for judging at the time of the call by the expert is considered absent. No appraisal, no refund.

“I signed up for the exhibition, paid for it, but circumstances have changed, and I cannot take part. How can I get an exhibition fee? The return of the exhibition fee can only be made before the agreed date. After that, the exhibition fee is non-refundable. At the request of the participant, part of his contribution can be credited to the next exhibition.

“How can judges at Best compare cats of different breeds? They choose which breed is best?”
All cats are divided into 5 breed groups:
o LH group - Persians, Exotics
o SLH group - angora, Siberians, Maine Coons, etc.
o KSh group - British, Russian Blues, Scottish Folds, Abyssinians, etc.
o Eastern - Siamese, Orientals, Balinese, Javanese
o 5th group - all Rex, all sphinxes, all bobtails, etc.
From the beginning, the judges choose the winners in groups - i.e. the best animal of each group - Best in Show in the LH group, Best in Show in the SLH group, Best in Show in the SH group, etc. The winners of these groups will compete for the title of Best of Best (i.e. the best of the best). To do this: each judge AB (all breed - i.e. “for all breeds”) places the winners of the groups - Best in show - in places. He puts his points for each winner of the group - for the compliance of this animal with the standard for this breed. For example:
o LH group - winner of BIS exotic - gets - 25 points
o SLH - Siberian cat - 5
o KSh - British cat - 10
o Oriental - oriental cat - 20
o 5th - Cornish Rex cat - 15

Other judges also put their points - according to the total amount, the Best of Best is selected

Why should kittens be exhibited at an exhibition? They don't get titles, do they?
Participation in the exhibition a large number kittens talking about high level breeding and literacy of breeders: catteries show the success of their work, visitors see how animals develop, how show class kittens should look at this age. Young animals get used to the exhibition atmosphere, which is very important for their further exhibition career. A kitten can win a BIS in its breed group, as well as become a BOB kitten at an exhibition.

“The judge found a defect in the tail of my kitten at the exhibition - a kink - and put a “disqualification” - but is he still small?”
Some shortcomings are allowed in the kitten class, which can improve with age: light eye color, insufficient coat color, not quite correct or even bite, undescended testicles, etc. But those defects that will not be corrected are noted in the evaluation sheet and the animal receives "very good." or "disqualification" For such vices as defined in early age, relate:
o Skeletal defects (tail fracture, skull deformity, keel, etc.)
o Color defects (white medallion in solid colors of cultivated breeds, etc.)

“At one show, my cat won the Best in Show in the breed group, and at another it didn’t even get a nomination – how can that be?”
One must keep in mind the following: a cat is never judged alone - by itself, but always IN COMPARISON with others. In other words: your cat's score depends on who she's being compared to. What is the level of competition at this show in general, both in the breed and in exhibition class in particular. If a lot of cats are exhibited in this class, then it will be more difficult to win. In a small exhibition and in a small competition of chances for win more, but such victories are not so significant and weighty.

« The expert examined my cat and asked me to show the pedigree. Does the expert have the right to know the origin of the exhibited animals?”
