Natus Vincere (from Latin - Born to Win) is a Ukrainian multi-gaming esports organization founded in 2009. They made themselves known in 2010, when the Counter-Strike 1.6 roster triumphantly won three major tournaments in one year - Intel Extreme Masters, Electronic Sports World Cup and World Cyber Games 2010. In the summer of 2011, the Born to Win Dota roster became the best at The International, winning $1,000,000 for first place. In addition to CS and Dota2 rosters, Na`Vi plays in many other disciplines (FIFA, SC2, LoL, WoT), where it regularly wins prizes, confirming its status as one of the most successful esports organizations in the world.

Natus Vincere starts its esports path in the Counter-Strike 1.6 discipline. In 2009, Vlad "MAVR" Khavrak created the Arbalet.UA team, consisting of Ukrainian players who previously played for the KerchNET and Pro100 teams. The team included Daniil Teslenko (Zeus) and Ioan Sukharev (Edward) from Kharkiv, Sergey Ishchuk (starix) from Kiev, Arseniy Trynozhenko (ceh9) from Lviv and Yegor Markelov (markeloff) from Dnepropetrovsk. The team was supported by well-known philanthropist and organizer of eSports tournaments Murat "Arbalet" Zhumashevich. Alexander "ZeroGravity" Kokhanovsky became the team manager. After winning the Arbalet Cup Asia 2010 tournament, where the Arbalet team played under the name "Na`Vi", a competition for the best team name is held, as a result of which the team is renamed into the final name "Natus Vincere", which is translated from Latin as "born to win" .

Starting from December 2013, the team remained unchanged for almost a year and a half, until in March 2015 it was announced that Sergei Ishchuk was transferred to the position of manager and coach of the team. NaVi, or Natus Vincere, is one of the most recognizable and promoted Ukrainian teams in eSports. Every gamer can say with accuracy that at least once in his life he heard about the team or watched it at international championships. We can safely call Natus Vincere a famous brand of the 21st century, because their rosters are known from such games as Dota 2 and In this article, we will look at the current NaVi (CS:GO) roster.

History of the famous team

A newcomer to esports who has heard of a team at least once may mistakenly believe that the same roster is involved in all games. If Natus Vincere in the game Dota 2 were created in 2010, immediately after the release of a separate map from the sensational WarCraft strategy, then for a multiplayer shooter Counter strike the team was founded a year earlier.

Where does this name come from?

Initially, the name was Arbalet.UA, but later, when the team had prospects and fans, they decided to seriously think about changing the logo and nickname. Thanks to the online competition, where more than 2,000 people took part, the name was changed to Natus Vincere, which means "born to win" in English. Oddly enough, less than a year later, the team won the world championship in the famous shooter, breaking the jackpot of $ 50,000. From that moment on, the name did not change, but the team began to perform annually at all championships, win large cash prizes and consult with its new manager Alexander Kokhanovsky. Although new composition NaVi in CS:GO is different from the original one, the team does not think of changing the nickname or logo, because they are really born to win.

Initial team line-up

The NaVi (CS:GO) team for 2009 included: S. Ishchuk (Starix), D. Teslenko (Zeus), A. Trizhenko (ceh9), I. Sukharev (Edward) and E. Markelov (makreloff). It should be noted that initially Sergey Ischuk was the captain of a successful team, and in 2017 Mikhailo Blagin (Kane) became the captain.

Why did Zeus (Daniil Teslenko) leave Natus Vincere?

The composition of NaVi in CS:GO has partially changed in 2016. After 7 years of existence, the fans are so accustomed to a strong and indestructible line-up that Teslenko's departure was unexpected and disappointing for everyone. A new challenger has taken the place of an experienced player, who was previously an active member of the no less famous Team Liquid team (its banners also adorn the Dota 2 pedestal). Alexander Kostylev (s1mple) joined NaVi (CS:GO). The official reason for the departure of a popular player is unknown, but fans consider this professional burnout, because Zeus is almost 30 years old today.

Team in 2017

The held Major (Kraków) tournament showed unfavorable results for NaVi's CS:GO roster. Managers made a decision that led to a mass expulsion of players. So, Ladislav Kovacs (GuardiaN) and (seized) will be replaced by new members. The final decision to change the composition will be made by the end of 2017, and now we can only hope and wait, which of the old participants will remain in their places, who will move to others no less famous teams, and who will go to the number of outsiders. However, Zeus himself admitted in an interview that he was returning to the team, even after his high-profile departure.

Despite the fact that the old command staff is on the verge of collapse, the participants still continue to delight their fans with experienced and thoughtful games, streams and guides on the famous shooter.

Natus Vincere are, without a doubt, the most popular CS team in the CIS, and if many newbies still support them in CS:GO, then many oldfags remember their wonderful games back in CS 1.6, where they won prizes and demonstrated amazing game at the biggest world championships.
