What is better fifa 18 or dog. PES or FIFA? Comparison between MyClub and Ultimate Team

The confrontation between the two football simulators lasts almost 22 years. During this time, marketers have realized a simple thing: people do not need revolutions every year, they will buy your game anyway. So the development of each simulator is at a lazy pace, and judging by the new releases, this fall we will see only small steps forward.

However, FIFA only a year since I changed the engine to Frostbite. Now EA Sports has a big job to do to decorate the young Christmas tree with long garlands and lots of decorations. Konami, on the other hand, is releasing the fifth product on the Fox Engine, which automatically means - PES in his prime and must show strength here and now, without reservation.

FIFA 18

The Canadian studio is betting on The Journey story campaign. The mode that debuted last season has become a sip fresh air for established football games. However, some clumsiness and a small number of cut-scenes made the idea of entertainment only for a week. Audiences need more emotion, drama, and the glitz of a superstar's life, not just practice and matches. Judging by the first hours of passage, the developers paid attention, if not to all, then to many nuances of the life of a professional football player. In The Journey: Hunter Returns you will be able to go to the club outside English Premier League, customize the main character and play matches with a friend. In addition, we were promised at least two more playable characters. This is intriguing, because in a good way, the setting allows you to turn around and tell an interesting story.

The most popular game mode continues to conquer the world. FUT Legends has changed its name to FUT Icons and is no longer exclusive to the Xbox family of consoles. Now legendary players are available on all new generation consoles and PC. The approach to “idols” has also changed, such people as Ronaldo, Yashin and Pele (40 superstars of the past in total) exist in three versions: from different periods of their careers, with different characteristics and appearance. These changes will please long-time football fans, but hopefully donation-shy people will have the opportunity to play at least one "idol" on a permanent basis.

In addition, the developers have implemented a new Squad Battles mode in FUT. It is intended for players who prefer offline, but who are fed up with fights with real-life clubs. Squad Battles allows you to play offline against squads of other people by choosing the appropriate difficulty level. The more matches you win, the more generous the rewards. If you have a talent for skillfully beating artificial intelligence, then good packs with coins will not keep you waiting. What is important - now players with intermittent access to the Internet will not feel disadvantaged, with new rewards you can really progress.

Esports fans can now follow their favorite athletes right in the game. The Champions channel allows you to upload full matches or cuts of the best in a kind of tape. The Canadian studio also introduced a system of daily and weekly tasks to FUT and promised to make the Squad Building Challenges mode more diverse. Ultimate Team seems to have reached the point where it can be recommended to anyone and everyone. Entertainment for every taste, a game within a game.

For those who love to lead their favorite club to victory in the championship, there is also good news - finally, progress in the career mode. From now on, signing the right player is like turning on another EA game - even the negotiations are designed like in Mass Effect: with cut-scenes and a dialogue wheel. There is only one difference: instead of deciding the fate of all life in the Universe, you are bargaining with the football player's agent about the amount of salary and the amount of compensation. The mode also has enough smaller innovations: post-match interviews, a new presentation of the lineups at the beginning of the meeting (EPL and La Liga), complete statistics for each player, a nicely designed news feed - you can’t count everything.

Many people like to joke about the unchanging gameplay of football simulators. FIFA 18 does not seek to dissuade anyone. But after playing ten matches, changes in pace and balance became noticeable. The game has become noticeably slower and the role of fast players has decreased, it is now more difficult to defend. Passive defense is not so smart, and the ball itself does not seek to take away. If you make a mistake in the manual selection, the defender takes a long time to turn in the right direction. But the Real Player Motion technology - in fact, a full-fledged motion capture, slightly compensates for the little-changed gameplay. It allows you to control Ronaldo as if alive - the same inhuman height jumps, the same branded dash for the ball. An interesting fact: in addition to the "face from the cover", FIFA boasts only a few players. Apparently, the system is designed to grow, and every season there will be more such perfectly recreated athletes.

Pes 18

The main competitor of EA in the face of Konami, on the contrary, boasts of gameplay, not modes. Almost all the innovations of PES 2018 relate to gameplay technologies, the names of which seem to be created for promotional materials.

The physics of the ball justifies all our expectations. New technology Real Touch + is responsible for completely different reception of the projectile by the player, depending on the height and speed of flight. This is an unpredictable process that will certainly add liveliness to virtual fights. Now the players will handle a flying or bouncing ball based on their skill. After receiving it, the Strategic Dribbling system comes into play. Whether by making small body movements, covering the ball, or sharply darting under your opponent's pivoting leg, you are in complete control of keeping the ball and advancing the attack while minimizing the impact of the AI. The Japanese developer has also upgraded free kicks and corner kicks, increasing our chances of making unconventional plays come to life.

Real Capture is already responsible for visual perception. In PES 2018, enhanced lighting sits side by side with realistic stadiums and faithfully recreated under-tribune spaces at Camp Nou and Signal Iduna Park. Also, thanks to this technology, we will see how the lawn is transformed - on repetitions it is especially noticeable how grass flies out from under the feet under a powerful blow.

Along with this, the series is waiting for serious progress regarding animation. Konami captured the movements of the bodies of the players and the models began to behave more realistically. You can understand the magnitude of the change if even basic movements such as gait, turns and body positions are redesigned. Shirts will fit players differently depending on their weight and height. Speaking of licenses, several clubs have partnered with a Japanese studio, and in addition to the stadiums and interiors being superbly transferred to the game, PES fans have the privilege of seeing the tattoos of Suarez and Rakitic, one of the leaders of Barcelona.

Jokes aside, one of the important innovations you will enjoy is the ability to play with friends. Yes, co-op has appeared in PES: two on two and even three on three, with support for local play. To bring in the spirit of competition, the developers provided the players with a bunch of statistical information. If you, like me, spend a little time analyzing statistics after each match and like to spend time with friends at the same console, the new mode will become an outlet for your company.

Another person will like the little touches that have been brought to the Master League. Finally Career Mode has a pre-season. The developers also redesigned the transfer system, added cinematic scenes, including interviews (unlike FIFA - pre-match ones). Many fans loved the Random Selection Match and Konami has brought it back with an updated look.

Changes have not bypassed the user interface. Wherever you can implement real photo players, and the start screen of the match with the arrangement of the players tried to make it look like a TV broadcast. I was pleased that in the matches there were more elements that popped up on the screen, whether it was the number of shots or the accuracy of the passes. Such little things invisibly make what is happening look like a real match.

And the last, soul-warming news. Publisher last years not interested in the PC version of their product. Now something has changed and on Steam you can buy a full-fledged game that is in no way inferior to its console counterparts. It's nice that people can play on the platform that suits them best.

One thing remains unchanged over the years - licenses. PES holds tournaments under the patronage of UEFA, including the Champions League. FIFA is literally everything else - stadiums, countless championships, second and third leagues. Globally, this fall, the alignment of forces has not really changed. On the football field, PES is more creative, livelier and more realistic. FIFA has taken another big step towards the opponent, but its true strength is still in the modes and serve. We are lucky to have two such dissimilar, but high-quality simulators the best game in the world.

Comparison of fifa 17 and fifa 18

EA Sports and Konami are releasing new versions of their popular football games: FIFA 18 and PES 2018. Both games are of great quality. In this article, we have collected the most significant differences between the two simulators. Having understood in more detail, you can easily decide which game is right for you in 2017.

FIFA 18 vs PES 2018 - Graphics

When creating FIFA 17, the developers switched to the Frostbite engine, thanks to which the game went to new level in terms of graphics. However, FIFA 18 has gone one step further and a few new features have completely changed the game. Fans in the stadium are no longer a homogeneous mass, but a collection of people with different reactions to what is happening. This decision greatly influenced the atmosphere in the stadium.

Also now the game has a new lighting system and improved shadows, which brings more realism to the game. However, some players still look emotionless.

PES 2017 featured great detail on player faces and other elements, but the game lacked the atmosphere of a stadium. The user interface was also underdeveloped. It will be interesting to see if the developers will work out the atmosphere in more detail, or if they will again focus on some key players, stadiums and teams.

FIFA 18 vs PES 2018 - License Agreements and Rights

It is quite expected that Konami's football simulator lacks the main licensing agreements that are available in FIFA 18. However, again, the developers have entered into an exclusive agreement with football club Barcelona, which applies to both players and several stadiums.

All major leagues and teams are present in the game, including the Premier League and La Liga; the similarity of the players and their heroes in the game exceeds all expectations. As in previous versions of the simulator, FIFA paid a lot of attention to the appearance and behavior of Cristiano Ronaldo, it even went as far as copying and entering data about his movements in the game. During our testing of the game, we noticed that a lot of effort was put into portraying players with the highest fidelity, right down to their individual running style.

At the same time, PES has always had licensing issues, which can turn you off the game. Judging by the teaser trailer for PES 2018, we can say that the game will once again be focused on Barcelona. Thus, it is quite expected that the Camp Nou stadium itself, as well as players like Neymar, Messi and Suarez, are recreated almost photorealistically.

PES 2018 will also have exclusive rights to the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.

FIFA 18 vs PES 2018 - Modes

The biggest achievement we've seen in FIFA 2017 has been the addition of a single player campaign mode, something that has never been seen before in FIFA 2017. football games. The Story Mode, which takes the user on the path of rising English league star Alex Hunter, has been a huge hit with users, so it's no surprise that the mode is back in the game this year. The Story Mode: Return of the Hunter adds a number of customizable options, more detailed storytelling, more options for the user to make their own decisions, and the ability to leave England and play for a number of other teams.

We don't know much about the other game modes in FIFA 18, but what we do know is that the Ultimate Team mode will return, featuring some of the familiar career and tournament options.

As for the PES 2018 modes, the developers have worked on the myClub, Master League and Career modes in more detail. The only downside Konami should be ashamed of is that the developers didn't dare to borrow the idea and create their own single-player career mode like FIFA's Story.

FIFA 18 vs PES 2018 - Online

The only mode that EA Sports decided to detail was Ultimate Team. And that's all we know for this moment. We also know for sure that those football legends that were previously only available on Xbox are now also available on PS4 and PC.

PES 2018 now supports co-op (collaborative) online mode with 2v2 and 3v3 game options. This means that you and your friends can play together on the same team. You can play in a one-time tournament or form a team, develop and bring it to the top of the rating tournament.

FIFA 18 vs PES 2018 - Gameplay

Improved gameplay has become one of the key focus of FIFA 18. And even during our short pre-release testing of the game, significant improvements were noticeable.

Thanks to the new animation and body movement system, player skills and movements are smoother, dribbling looks more interesting, and intersections are not as buoyant.

In general, FIFA 18 can be called a complex and more enjoyable version of the game.
In all likelihood, PES 2018 will continue to focus on the gameplay, as Konami announced not so long ago. Thus, PES 2018 is still intended more for the real fans of football simulations.

First impression

Both FIFA 18 and PES 2018 are of excellent quality. Significant improvements are noticeable in graphics, gameplay and mode. Only time will tell which of the football simulators will win universal recognition this year. A lot of it will depend on the personal preferences of users in what features these games offer.

In any big sport there are confrontations between two teams. Spartak and CSKA, Barcelona and Real Madrid, Celtic and Glasgow Rangers - football, by definition, offers competition for the title of the strongest. If you transfer the competition to the world of video games, then there is no confrontation stronger and more ancient than FIFA vs. PES.

Every year, Electronic Arts releases a new game in a licensed series to the public, and every year the Japanese from Konami respond with their Pro Evolution Soccer series. Contestants are battling for the hearts of football sim fans around the world, and players are wondering "Which is better, FIFA 18 or PES 18?" We played both games, and in this article we will give a detailed answer to this question.

Comparison of FIFA 18 and PES 18. Graphics and presentation

No matter how you look at it, FIFA 18 has surpassed its rival in the graphics category this year. The lack of licensed clubs in PES 2018 remains a big problem, especially for console players who can't fix things with mods. FIFA 18, in turn, offers players full list most licensed teams different leagues and nationalities. Everything - from the appearance of the players to the pattern on the form - corresponds to their real prototypes. This year, Electronic Arts also updated the graphics engine with new effects such as lighting and dynamic weather.

More licensed clubs in PES 2018, but still fewer compared to FIFA 18

The interface in FIFA 18 also looks first-class - using the menu is convenient and simple. Unlike FIFA, PES 2018 doesn't have a unified aesthetic. Although the models of football players have been improved, in general, the game loses to the licked and polished appearance of the competitor. The look of the menu has not changed since last year, and instead of Manchester United you will play as Man Red.

Comparison of FIFA 18 and PES 18. Gameplay

But with regard to the gameplay, everything is not so obvious. Each player has his own opinion regarding the convenience of the game. We will briefly describe the features of the gameplay of both projects.

The gameplay of Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 is very organic. Passing is comfortable, dribbling is very responsive, and shots on goal feel just right. Goalkeepers and defense are smart - playing PES 18 is simply convenient and enjoyable.

Gameplay is still the strongest point of PES

The developers at EA have made pinpoint changes to FIFA 18 compared to last year. Shots on goal and dribbling are more responsive. The most significant changes have been made to the crosses - you can deliver the ball to the penalty area more quickly, and in addition, adjust the height and speed of the projectile. Thanks to the variety of delivery of the ball to the goal, the goals have become more diverse and beautiful.

Shooting on goal has never been so fun in FIFA 18

But, at the same time, FIFA 18 has its problems. Dribbling is still not as impressive as in PES 2018, and passes are not as accurate. Different players and teams don't feel that different.

Thus, playing PES 2018 is a little more convenient and interesting than playing FIFA 18.

Comparison of FIFA 18 and PES 18. Game modes

One of the main aspects of competition in football simulations is the richness and depth of game modes. Traditionally, FIFA has been superior to PES in this regard, and FIFA 18 is no exception. The Journey Story Mode continues the story of the budding Alex Hunter. The story is not for show - the mode contains fully voiced story cutscenes and the ability to choose (almost like in Mass Effect).

Story Mode in FIFA 18 will keep you hooked for hours with a captivating story

FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT for short) has been a huge hit with online players and is now essentially its own game within the game. Squad Battles, Daily Goals - this is not a complete list of game types for those who love FIFA 18.

What will PES 2018 offer? Master League has received minor improvements: a new menu interface allows for better navigation, transfer negotiations are now easier, and a new Challenge Mode brings a variety of unpredictable scenarios to the game. The MyClub game view is sort of an alternative to the FUT mode, but still doesn't offer the same depth of play as the competition.

The most successful new PES 2018 mode is Random Selection Match. This kind of game has returned from PES 6 along with a few changes. You, along with a friend, each get a team of randomly collected players (not entirely random, however - you are free to choose a country or club). Then each of you tries to take players from the other. It doesn't sound like much fun, but in action, this mode is a lot of fun.

Verdict. Which is better - FIFA 18 or Pro Evolution Soccer 2018?

In general, which game you prefer depends on your taste and priorities. PES 2018 offers a more comfortable and responsive gameplay, however FIFA 18 has better graphics and a nicer presentation. EA's creation immerses you headlong into the world of big football, thanks to many small graphical details, while PES 2018 does not even license all the teams.

If you take the game for online matches, then both projects will offer decent competition options. FIFA 18 beckons with the famous FUT, and PES 2018 includes a 3v3 co-op mode.

22.10.2017

It's good to be a fan of online shooters, having the richest choice. The life of fans of football simulators, compared to fans of other genres, is extremely sad, from year to year they have to choose between only two candidates: FIF or Pro Evolution Soccer. And today we will try to compare the latest and Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 to understand: so which is better? And which of the games is better to play for someone who is trying to play something new, football. We will compare traditionally, according to the most important points: graphics, sound, realism, multiplayer and gameplay. For each of the points, the games will receive marks on a 10-point scale, and in the final we will add them up and see what we got.

visual component.

So, graphics. We always meet by clothes. Here the situation is briefly such that there is no subject for dispute. If, for example, PES 16 players' faces were prettier than those of FIFA 16 players, now the situation has changed. And not just with faces. Visually, the game from EA Sports looks clearly richer. First, the menu. In FIFA 18 it is clearly prettier, while in PES 18 it looks like hello from the 90s. Especially when it comes to opening the command settings. Moreover, the menus in PES have been scolded for years, but Konami seems to be too lazy to change anything.
Those who want to immerse themselves in the football atmosphere and watch pre-match screensavers for this will succeed in FIF to a greater extent, because in PES everything is spoiled by the rubbery-clumsy faces of football players, even when it comes to superstars. When some non-advanced teams play, the muzzles of the players are typical, like the wooden soldiers of Oorfene Deuce. FIFA is also full of typical faces, but they look more interesting.

Or take the same lawn. In PES, the field looks, let's be frank, lousy. It's like you're constantly playing artificial turf. FIFA had such a lawn 10 years ago. In FIFA, especially if you zoom in, the lawn is beyond praise. You can see individual blades of grass. But then - oh, a miracle - in PES 18 they significantly pulled up appearance stands and spectators on them. Before that, there were identical silhouettes cut out of plywood with a jigsaw, but now everything behind the field looks like it’s real. Based on the results of comparing the stands and spectators, I’ll say something terrible: in PES 18 they look better than in FIFA 18, where bots dressed in the same uniform with the same hairstyles are guessed on the benches.

In general, we get the following: faces, lawn, menus and general form better in FIFA 18. In PES, only the stands are better, although in general the graphics of the Japanese competitor is not as bad as it might seem.
At the end of this round, for graphics, FIFA 18 receives 8 points, and PES 18 - 7 points.

sound component.

What is the first thing the person who launches FIF does? That's right, he turns off the music in the menu, and after a few matches he cuts off the commentators, no matter how good they are. In PES, music, for me personally, did not cause such rejection, but as for the commentators, they were also turned off.

I liked the sound in PES 18. Naturally, the main sound was in the stadium. The audience reacted very briskly, both to goals and to violations. If you play away and go into a dangerous tackle, then the whole stadium will gasp in unison. If the tackle was carried out in violation, then the stadium will roar almost instantly. If the sound at this point was turned on loudly, then you will literally physically become uncomfortable.

In FIFA 18, to be honest, the sound has not changed at all compared to the previous version. All the same beach-Papuan songs on the menu, and all the same ahi-sighs at the stadium. Not that it was bad, but I did not like this marking time. It looks like they didn't even try.
Therefore, for the sound, PES 18 gets 9 points, and FIFA 18 - 7 points, as stagnant.

Realism.

A very difficult round, which, of course, needs to be sorted out on the field during the game.

So, the first thing that catches your eye in PES 18 is the size of the field. It is really huge. It feels dynamic. The ball after a pass or hit flies or rolls for a long time, and it looks beautiful. The effect of the large field turned out great. Compared to him, FIFA 18 - such an impression - showed us futsal. If you look at the game, PES 18 is very similar to a real match due to the size of the field, while FIFA 18 is like, albeit a good one, but a computer simulator, whose task is to deliver thrills to the players.
But what I didn’t like about PES 18 was the effect of the ball sticking to the feet. It is visible even on the starting splash screen. It is expressed in the fact that when the player turns, the ball turns behind him, despite the fact that the player himself does not correct it with his feet. It looks bad, and to be honest, the guys at Konami can be scolded for not bothering to add proper animation.

Goalkeepers in PES 18, oddly enough, began to play more or less adequately. It was not easy to score them, especially from afar. In FIFA 18 (we are talking about a single player mode), goalkeepers do not play well. They were sharply weakened, because of which the computer often began to score in the near corner. Yes, what is there often: almost every second goal against me by artificial intelligence was in the near corner, which, as they say, in any goal.

The next thing I want to talk about is the deterioration of the parameters of the players in PES, depending on their position. If the right midfielder has an 80 rating, then don't expect him to stay in the center. Or, for example, if you want to put a striker in the position of an attacking midfielder, you will get -8 points. And so everywhere, and it is very good. Such borrowing from football managers great for realism. But in FIFA, they still won’t decide on this, and, it seems, they will never decide. Wherever you put it, the rating will remain, which looks unbearably implausible.

Further, in PES 18, I was surprised by the excellent execution of penalties and especially free kicks. Very realistic. Something between a real picture on TV, and how if I myself went on the field and shot. In FIFA, this is not even close.

But PES 18 has a huge minus - problems with licenses, which - alas - greatly spoil this seemingly excellent, realistic simulator. It is enough to take the Russian team. We take and look at the names of the main cast: Sholokhov, Cherchesov, Bondarchuk, Herzen, Kerensky, Privivkova and Tereshkova. Just a hell of a hell. And this is everywhere. Real here is called MD White, Chelsea is called London FC and so on. There is no Bundesliga at all. Everywhere in the starting screensavers, Neymar is still in Barcelona. All this has a very bad effect on the perception of a football holiday, although the same Champions League is presented amazingly realistic: the anthem, logos, even animation - everything is aimed at creating the impression of watching a real match on TV.

The results are as follows: PES 18 receives 7 points for realism. 2 points removed for licenses. And FIFA 18 has even worse realism - 6 points, although the licenses are in full order, and the plasticity of the movements of the players has been tightened up by electronic engineers.

Multiplayer.

And one more ambiguous round, which is difficult to cover in its entirety.

In PES 18, multiplayer is very, very bad. You need to wait for opponents for 10 minutes, and it’s not a fact that you will wait. And when an opponent happens, the quality of the connection leaves much to be desired. There is no such problem in FIFA 18. Rivals are easy to find, but the game itself in multiplayer reveals all of its arcade essence. The score 7:5 is an ordinary event for FIFA 18. A huge bias in attack, which spoils everything. Goalkeepers do not catch anything, and attackers score from all positions. Instead of running, it seems like roller skating on ice. In general, of all the ultra-fast and aggressive parts, this one is the fastest and most aggressive. Like this can, perhaps, only children. A person who understands football will not arouse such sympathy. If we discard stupid gameplay distortions, then everything is fine: FUT mode, Seasons mode, a bunch of other modes with challenges. There is nothing like this in PES 18. They still believe that the primitive My Club completely suits the players.

As a result, it turned out that when it came to multiplayer, you can say about games that “both are worse”. Therefore, PES 18 - 5 points for the fact that in principle it is not easy to find an opponent, and FIFA 18 - 7 points - for at least you can play without a long wait.

Gameplay.

Well, in the end, you need to go through the gameplay a bit, or interestingness. The thing is subjective, because one may be interested in one thing, another - in another. Personally, I liked that in FIFA 18 there was a new tackle mechanic with legs, the players became more flexible and flexible, the graphics improved a bit, and the computer finally learned how to attack in different ways, with a variety of attacks, and not running away to the flanks, as he did this in FIFA 17. Now it’s really interesting to play against artificial intelligence, although the attacking bias is also felt there. As for the FUT mode, it will be interesting exactly until you reach the first division and upgrade your team to reasonable limits without spending thousands of rubles on donations. The Path to Glory mode - you'll forgive me - personally did not hook me at all with all its Negro suffering.

In PES 18, I liked the huge field, the feeling of the dynamics of the ball, normal goalkeepers who are no longer extras in the goal, and a great football atmosphere. When the computer scores, there is no feeling that the script has turned on, as it happens in FIFA, where you feel the inclusion of the script even before the goal. You see that the opponent began to feint and the ball cannot be taken away from him, which means that the system decided that it was necessary to score. PES doesn't have this. But there are extremely realistic free kicks, and some problems with switching players, because after FIFA 18 it always seems that it is switching to the wrong one. Well, until you switch, the players sometimes behave like mentally disabled people, both in FIFA 18 and in PES 18, acting completely out of the situation. And in general, PES 18 has more football-like action, but it also has huge license problems and outdated graphics. In FIFA 18 everything is more arcade, but full set with licenses, well, plus a working multiplayer.

In general, according to the results of this round, PES 18 gets 7 points, and FIFA 18 - 8, because it is the second game that looks more like a modern product of 2017, and not a remake of something from 2015.

Summary.

Well, it remains to calculate. In the final, PES 18, after 5 rounds, in a bitter struggle, gets 35 points, and FIFA 18 - 36. Therefore, the richer and more famous won, but this victory turned out to be minimal, at the level of statistical error, and I personally advised Electronic Arts would have to take up the mind and think about the revolution in the football genre, otherwise next year Pro Evolution Soccer will definitely be ahead.
