Extreme and counter-emergency driving courses - an overview.

The level of responsibility of a modern driver simply rolls over: he is responsible not only for himself and his vehicle, but also for passengers, as well as for pedestrians and fellow drivers. An emergency situation can arise on the road at any time, so the person behind the wheel must be ready for anything. To improve driving skills, numerous courses of emergency or extreme driving have been developed. So how useful can such a product be?

Simple numbers for complex problems

Before we begin to understand the difference between emergency driving courses and extreme driving lessons, let's turn to the good old lady statistics. Few people know that in standard traffic conditions, drivers tend to use no more than 30% of their car's capabilities. If we are talking about "dummies", then this figure is even lower - about 20%. Professionals can "squeeze out" about 50% of its potential from their car. The possibilities of their car are used to the maximum only by racers, and even then this happens exclusively on specially prepared tracks.

Only professional athletes can use the full potential of their car

We started talking about the potential of the car is not accidental. The fact is that situations may arise on the road that will require us to maximize the return of not only our own strength, energy, concentration, reaction and ability to think soberly when “shells are exploding” around, but also full return from the car. Can courses of counter-emergency driving help us with this?

Extreme or counter-emergency driving: terminology difficulties

Drivers often confuse these two completely different concepts. If we are talking about the ability to drive a car in the most critical situations that may occur on public roads, then this is counter-emergency driving. But extreme driving can be called a “quasi-sport”, when the driver drives his car using the techniques of rally racers. So there can be no talk of extreme driving on public roads.

Do not confuse "contravariyka" with extreme driving, which is essentially a sport

But let's abstract away from precise definitions and encyclopedic meanings. We will immediately agree that we will perceive both contra-emergency and extreme driving as special training aimed at improving the level of driving skills, the ability to react in emergency situations and learn how to make often the only right decisions.

Many people ask quite a fair question - do I really need extreme driving lessons? Only you can answer this question yourself. If we take into account the data of UNESCO, according to which every year a total of 1 million people die on the roads of the world, and only in Russia alone - about 30 thousand, then everything falls into place. The driver, especially the one who is not sure about own forces, must be prepared for the fact that at some point the merciful road and transport god will turn away from him.

The essence of counter-emergency driving

To put it poetically, the road is a ribbon with which a box is tied, fraught with a lot of surprises. And it depends only on the driver whether these surprises will be pleasant or not. Here, for example, every year at the beginning of winter, the whole of Russia celebrates the "Tinsmith's Day", when the statistical diagrams of accidents begin to prop up the ceiling. What is the problem? Unprepared for a sudden change of season? Lack of time to replace summer tires with winter ones? Driver indiscipline or inattention? Failure of biological rhythms? No! The issue is the lack of driver skills.

Group lessons are much cheaper.

At the same time, almost any extreme driving school will allow you to acquire the necessary skills in just a week. Yes, you will not become a professional. But you can get out of trouble.

Moscow drivers quite often have to get into emergency situations

Moscow is a very demanding city, which can charge the driver with such a bill that it is better not to think about. And the more people who are trained to act in extreme situations on the white-stone roads, the less these same situations will disturb the evening news releases.

Stages of the "countervariant"

Basically, high-quality courses are offered not at all by driving schools that indulge in the provision of additional services, but by highly specialized training centers. And there are more than enough such companies, as well as private car instructors who teach extreme driving, today. So, what will a professional offer us?

Collision driving - a specific type of guarantee

First, he will break all the training into stages, and they will look something like this:

Stage 1: the ability to competently work with the controls of the car, the development of rectilinear movement and the passage of overall training.

Stage 2: use of passive safety elements (principles proper fit behind the wheel), in-depth training in working with car controls ( different techniques steering, fast gear changes, engine braking techniques), the use of active safety features (efficient acceleration, emergency braking, cornering techniques).

Stage 3: driving features in summer and winter, acquiring emergency maneuvering skills in emergency situations and in conditions of low coefficient of adhesion to the road surface, demolition, skidding and stabilization of the car in combined sliding.

Interesting Facts

There are about 20 steering techniques, more than 200 braking elements and techniques, and 26 throttling techniques - ways to control the gas pedal.

Whatever extreme driving courses in Moscow you choose, the main tasks in emergency training will be: revealing your driving capabilities and improving their level, assessing the capabilities of your personal car in critical situations, providing the maximum number of “tools” that will help you get out of any emergency alterations.

The main thing is self-control, understanding that everyone can act at the level of the subconscious and muscle memory, self-confidence and the competent distribution of their strengths and knowledge. And then you will be able, like your driving instructor, to work wonders while driving your favorite car.

On December 10, race organizers at the St. Petersburg Autodrom held a rally sprint that opened winter season on the highway in Shushary. 83 participants came to support this event in five classifications. The organizers were seriously preparing for the rally sprint - they even managed to fill the track with water in the middle of the week, when the thermometer was minus five. However, by the weekend from the frost, alas, only memories remained - the participants were met by plus temperature and sleet.

One of the leaders in the all-wheel drive class was the St. Petersburg rally driver Vyacheslav Tyukin

Before lunch, the track was given to the mass-produced cars. It is worth mentioning that at the winter competitions at the Autodrom, cars are divided into Sport and Standard classifications according to the presence or absence of a differential lock, while there is no breakdown by engine size.

Six cars started in the rear wheel drive, and the famous rally driver Alexander Zaitsev on the VAZ-2105 became the best. The front-wheel drive class became the most massive in the competition program: 27 participants competed for prizes. St. Petersburg student Stepan Demyanchuk (Ford Fiesta), who trained in Shushary before the start of the rally season, showed the third time here. The second place was taken by Aleksey Subbota, while his Chevrolet Lanos rushed along the snowy road so cheerfully that the organizers had doubts that the car was not blocked. However, they doubted in vain - a simple test showed that Alexei's car was “clean”. Well, Andrey Sologub confidently became the winner of the race in the front-wheel drive class (his Skoda Fabia is in the title picture), who “brought” Saturday as much as nine seconds.

After lunch, the organizers changed the route of the retarders in order to somehow preserve the ice sheet before the “athletes” competition. Eight pilots started in the Front-wheel drive sport class, the fastest of which was Sergey Mitroshenko in Lada Priore. But the name of the winner in the classifications Rear-wheel drive sport (15 participants) and All-wheel drive (23) turned out to be the same - the well-known rally navigator Alexei Bashmakov won in both classes. But if in all-wheel drive his lead over silver medalist Vyacheslav Tyukin (also driving the Subaru Impreza GT sedan) was an impressive nine seconds, then in rear-wheel drive there was a serious struggle. Bashmakov was fiercely resisted by another owner of the Zhiguli, Igor Fomenko, who was only 0.03 seconds behind the winner!

In addition to the main classes, there was also a competition for rent, for the participants of which the organizers provided a “carcassed” VAZ-2106. Here the best among the four participants was the regular of the competitions on the track in Shushary, Vladislav Agnivin.

The participants warmly appreciated the first winter sprint at the Autodrom, and the organizers have already decided on the date of the next one - it will take place on December 24th. At these competitions, it is planned to introduce new classes for owners of cars with non-studded tires - Velcro - Mono and Velcro - Full. I wonder if they will be in demand?

Extreme car driving

Extreme driving has gained considerable popularity. The number of cars on the road is growing, the car has become not a luxury, but a means of transportation. And no one, not an experienced driver, and even more so a novice, is immune from an extreme situation. Ability to properly assess critical situation on the road, reacting with lightning speed saves not only property, but also the health and life of the driver, passengers, and pedestrians. It is these skills that are taught in extreme driving courses. Extreme driving courses will help predict the trajectory of movement, teach you the intricacies of overtaking, and give you the basics of rally training.

driving on ice

Driving on ice is a challenge for most drivers. And given the climatic features of the region, it becomes quite a tangible problem. Extreme driving courses will help you learn how to drive safely on ice. It is these courses that will help to avoid panic, reflex paralysis when driving on ice. A driver who has successfully completed such courses knows how to reflexively apply the correct braking techniques on a slippery road, how to stabilize the car if it starts to spin on ice, and just safely take turns on an icy road. After training extreme driving on the ice, the phrase: “We won’t go today - ice!” will go away forever.
