Opening of waterfowl hunting. Opening of the hunt for the hare in the Belgorod region

It's already in full swing. This is perhaps the most long-awaited season among many hunters. Its duration can be more than three months.

Each region has its own rules and terms of hunting. And it doesn’t mean at all that you can hunt for everything. As a rule, each region has its own list of animals that cause damage to agriculture or hunting. Or, conversely, their shooting will not harm the ecosystem.

The autumn season is accompanied by strictly regulated rules. So, for example, hunting is allowed only for specific species of birds and only for males. And this period can last only a few days. Gradually changing dates allow you to enjoy all kinds of hunting from waterfowl to a hare or a bear.

Let's not forget the limits. We would like to refresh our memory on the list of prohibited things during hunting in 2017:

  • the use of any samolov in the extraction of game birds in the implementation of amateur and sport hunting;
  • the use of electronic devices that imitate sounds made by hunting animals and other animals;
  • being in hunting grounds in (on) mechanical vehicles, aircraft, as well as swimming facilities with the engine turned on, including those that did not stop moving by inertia after the engine was turned off, with hunting firearms uncovered or loaded or having cartridges (shells) in the store ( pneumatic) weapons;
  • use of any lighting devices
  • the use of long-barreled hunting firearms with a rifled barrel and rifled barrels of hunting combined firearms
  • the use of hunting smooth-bore firearms equipped with shot (buckshot) larger than five millimeters and bullets

When the hunt was opened in Rus'

But all this is in 2019. But in the old days in Russia, hunting opened on the day of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, June 31, according to the old style, or July 12, according to the new one. And there were two main reasons for this. Firstly, on July 11, the Apostolic Lent ends, which sometimes lasted several weeks, and therefore, from that day it was already possible to start drinking wine, eat meat, including game, and also begin to enjoy life in all its manifestations, in including enjoying the delights of hunting. And every hunter knows that the opening of a new season is a real holiday for those who love this business. It is not surprising that large noisy companies went on the first hunt. According to Russian writers who describe this event in their works, there were sometimes much more hunters in the swamps than game. In the middle of the day, hunters gathered at a halt and began to celebrate the beginning of the hunting season together, brag about their successes, tell various stories and, of course, drink and eat a lot. It was especially nice after a long fast.

But there was another reason to start hunting at this time. By the beginning of July, most ducks and snipes had not only managed to hatch their broods, but even put them on the wing. Consequently, the young became quite a full-fledged object in order to hunt him. Ornithologists confirm that mallards, teals and snipes already fly quite confidently after the first ten days of July according to the new style. Of course, young growth of later broods is still hiding in the reeds and backwaters, and the black grouse with capercaillie have not yet had time to take to the wing. But, firstly, in those times in question, there was much more game, and secondly, a real professional hunter will never stoop to shooting at chicks or at their uterus. This was considered the greatest disgrace.

Autumn hunting 2017

The summer-autumn hunting season 2017 will open at its own time for each region. In many regions, the opening of hunting took place in July 2017 - according to the rules of the first, hunting for swamp-meadow game is opened for owners of hunting birds and dogs of hunting breeds (you can hunt with island and continental pointing dogs, retrievers, spaniels).

Hunting for game birds with one gun dog carried out with the participation of no more than three hunters, each of which must have a hunting license, a valid permit for the storage and carrying of hunting weapons, a permit for the extraction of hunting resources and a permit issued in the prescribed manner (clause 3.2 a, b, d; clause 45 rules). In case of hunting with birds of prey, in addition to a hunting license, permit and voucher, you need permission to keep and breed them in semi-free conditions or in an artificially created habitat (clause 52 of the Federal Law "On the Fauna"). When using a dog and (and) hunting bird for hunting, they must be included in the ticket. Valid mark in the veterinary certificate of vaccination of the dog against rabies.
