There are several elements that symbolize an organized group, the Barça emblem has done so, and has been worn with pride since its inception.

From the very beginning of Barça, the club has had its own badge and the players have proudly worn T-shirts with this badge. It was the coat of arms of the city of Barcelona, a rhombus divided into four quarters, with a crown and a bat at the top, surrounded by two branches, the first a laurel tree and the second a palm tree. Even at an early stage, this reflected the club's connection to the city where it all began.

The first emblem remained unchanged until 1910. Shortly after Gamper saved the club from a serious crisis in 1908, the decision was made to give the club its own differentiated crest. In 1910, the club announced a competition between all members who could offer their own version of the coat of arms. The winner was Carles Comamala, who played for the club from 1903 to 1912 and was a student of medicine at the time and was also an excellent artist. Since then, the emblem of Barcelona has undergone some changes.

The bowl-shaped design, in which the top two quarters support the Cross of St. George, and the red and yellow stripes are representative symbols of Barcelona and Catalonia. The club's initials FCB appear on the center stripe and below are the colors of Barça with the ball. So what we have is a coat of arms that respects the sporting aspect of the club, as well as its links to the hometown and country.

Beginning in 1910, changes made to the designs were minimal. usually by simply changing the aesthetics and patterns used for the outline. The biggest changes came as a result of political commitment. When Franco took over, the acronym FCB was changed to CFB, the club was forced to use the Spanish version of its name. The dictator also ordered the club to remove two of the four pairs of stripes from the top in order to remove the Catalan flag from the emblem. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the club in 1949 Return of the four pairs of bands. In 1974 the club crest returned to its original 1910 design.

The present coat of arms is based on an adaptation made by designer Clare Serrahima in 2002. The lines are a little more stylized, the dots between the letters have been removed, the letters are made smaller with less pointed edges. The lines in this last design are somewhat simple to make it easier for the Cross and the club's corporate identity to be reproduced in all the different formats. The lines in the latest model are simpler to make it easier for the club logo to be reproduced in all formats.

By population (1,600,000 people). This city is unlike any other in the world. It has its own unique history and atmosphere. Today we will deal with the heraldic features of Barcelona.

The flag of Barcelona combines the cross of Saint George (in Catalonia it is the cross of Sant Jordi), the patron saint of the city. The standard has a vexillological symbol based on the coat of arms of the ancient Kingdom of Aragon, the traditional red and yellow stripes of the "Sañera" (the name of the Catalan flag).

The flag in its current form has been official since 2004. Its various variations have been used since the nineteenth century. The flag of Barcelona was first officially adopted in 1906, but its use was banned by General Franco, who ruled Spain at the time.

A slightly different version of the flag, with more bright colors and other configurations of red bars was in the period from 1996 to 2004 (you can see a photo of it in the article).

Flag Description

The design of the Barcelona flag consists of a rectangle with a 3:2 ratio of length and width. The cloth is divided into 4 equal parts (quadrants). The upper left and lower right quadrants depict the cross of Saint Sant Jordi - red stripes on a white background. Opposite quadrants (lower left and upper right) are divided into nine vertical stripes of equal width (each being the equivalent of 1/18 of the flag's total length). The colors of the striped quadrants used are four red stripes and five gold stripes.

In 2004, the city government reinstated legislation on the 1906 Barcelona flag, bringing back its original design. But within the city, you can see flags whose design matches both 1906 and 1996. However, the Catalan Association of Vexillologists (Associació Catalana de Vexil lologia) continues to campaign against the use of the 1996 flag.

Coat of arms of Barcelona: description, meaning

The emblem of this amazing city has quite unusual shape. There is no shield familiar to everyone on it, but there is a rhombus, divided, like the flag, into 4 fields and including the cross of St. George, as well as the stripes of Aragon. He is crowned with a royal crown. Its appearance on the coat of arms of Barcelona dates back to the 16th century - at that time it was the main city of Catalonia, which was under royal rule, but at the same time had the rights of autonomy.

Emblem of FC Barcelona

The whole world knows that not liking football in Catalonia is like not loving your homeland. The main focus here is on football club Barcelona, which over the past few decades has been considered one of the best in the world. Every Catalan boy dreams of being part of it. The popularity of the club spreads all over the world. Baby football academies Barcelona already exist even in Russia (in Sochi).

Barcelona is the only city in the world that educates with its football philosophy. Every Catalan knows the history of the creation of the club and the meaning of the coat of arms of Barcelona.

The Barcelona Football Club logo is shaped like a cauldron, which is divided into three blocks. The top two illustrate the flag of the city of Barcelona. A Bottom part demonstrates a retro leather soccer ball (until the 1950s), which is located on a blue-garnet canvas (the club's traditional colors).

In its form, the emblem of the Catalan club also resembles a knight's shield. In the middle of the logo there is a golden stripe on which the initials of the club - FCB - are written.

How did the emblem of the football club "Barcelona"

During the entire long history, which has been stretching since 1899, the emblem of FC Barcelona has changed several times. It cannot be said that there were any drastic changes, the logo has always remained the same. But each time there was some slight cosmetic correction.

Initially, the club's management used the city flag as a football flag in order to demonstrate a close connection with the city. However, in 1910, the City Hall stipulated that the club should have its own logo. In connection with the current situation, the administration of FC Barcelona has announced a competition of emblems. The winner was Carles Comamala. During the reign of Francisco Franco, the board of directors of Barça was forced to change the English abbreviation "FCB" to the Spanish - "CFB" (Club de Futbol Barcelona).

The latest version of the club emblem was adopted in 2002. The designer Serrahim Klar worked on the logo. The shape has become smoother and smoother. Small parts have also been removed or replaced.

Barcelona Football Club (Spanish: Futbol Club Barcelona and Cat. Futbol Club Barcelona), also known as Barca, is a Catalan football club from the city of the same name, one of the strongest in Spain and in the world. Founded in 1899 by a group of Swiss, British, Spanish and Catalan footballers led by Joan Gamper. The club has become one of the symbols of Catalonia, hence the motto - Más que un club (Spanish), Més que un club (Cat.) - "More than a club." FC Barcelona fans are also known as culés.

Representatives of Barcelona, together with representatives of Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao, stood at the origins of the formation of Examples. At the same time, Barcelona is one of the three teams that did not leave the top Spanish division. The other two are the same Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao.

The club's main stadium is the Camp Nou, the largest stadium in Europe. From January 19, 2009, the first football team of FC Barcelona changed its training location to sports complex Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper. It is located in Sant Joan Despi a few kilometers west of the stadium.

In the 2006/07 season, Barça were ranked third among the richest clubs in the world with €291.1m in revenue.

Guaranteed to post the record after a new donation of 100 rubles. ;-)

A little more than 114 years ago, October 22, 1899 Hans Gamper, a 21-year-old German-speaking Swiss, published an announcement for a gathering of football fans who would like to organize a club and officially play against other teams in the national championship. As a result, on November 29, a group of people gathered, Catalans, Swiss, Germans, British, who, at a meeting in one of the training halls of Barcelona, proclaimed the creation of a new football club - Barcelona. This date is considered the official founding date of the football club.

On December 8, Barcelona played their first match, at the former Velodrome de la Bonanova, against the English who had settled in the city. Both teams played with ten players in the field. The English Colony won 0-1 and the match report was published the next day in the local newspaper La Vanguardia.

Since then, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge, Barcelona has acquired legends, stories, facts, myths. We can not tell all the interesting things about the team. The history of the club, which has never taken off from the Spanish Examples, will not fit in a thick three-volume book. But some interesting facts, nevertheless, will turn out to tell.

The history of foundation is the first fact. The second is the titles that one of the most famous clubs in the world managed to win in 114 years of its existence.

Titles

Probably the main indicator for any titled team is the number of national championships won. Since 1899, when they first touched the ball in their blue garnet uniform, Barcelona players have been voted the strongest in the country 22 times. This trophy was first won by the Catalans in 1929. Another 23 times Barcelona finished second, most often behind their worst enemies, Real Madrid.

The second most important tournament in any country is the national cup. In this tournament, the Catalans have no equal. The captain of Barcelona raised the coveted trophy over his head a record number of times for Spanish teams - 26.

The team from Spain entered the international arena in 1955 in earnest - participation in the Fairs Cup, the great-grandfather of the modern Europa League. In those years, the tournament was held for four years. In 1958, Barcelona became its winner. The next title also went to the Catalans - in 1960, when the duration was reduced to two years. And another one in 1966.

The Barça Museum also houses four more UEFA Cups. But the main triumph of the team is the first victory in the Champions Cup in 1992. Then the players in blue garnet uniforms made the lap of honor three more times with the coveted trophy: in 2006, 2009 and 2011.

In the same 1992, Barcelona proved that the club is the strongest not only in Europe, but also in the world. The team won the Intercontinental Cup, played between the strongest teams South America and Europe. Subsequently, this micro-tournament was replaced by the Club World Cup, which Barça won in 2009 and 2011.

Emblem

Today, Barcelona is recognized around the world: corporate colors, famous football players…but one of the most recognizable elements is the team crest, traditionally placed on the jersey near the player's heart.

Since its founding, Barcelona have used the coat of arms of the city of Barcelona instead of their own emblem, once again emphasizing their connection with their home city and with all of Catalonia. Only in 1910 did the leadership raise the issue of creating their own emblem. A competition was held and won Carles Comamala. Since then, the emblem of Barca has taken on a more or less familiar shape of a shield with “shrines” depicted on it: the yellow-red flag of Catalonia, the blue-garnet colors of Barcelona, the initials of the ASI team - Football Club Barcelona, the cross of St. George and a leather ball in the lower part.

The most sensitive changes occurred during the reign of the dictator Franco. Barça were forced to use the Spanish spelling of their name Club de Futbol Barcelona, which led to the change of the abbreviation to CFB. Due to opposition to separatism, the Catalan flag was replaced and the four red stripes were replaced by two. In 1949, the flag appeared again on the emblem of the club in honor of its 50th anniversary, and in 1974 the English version of the club's name was returned, respectively, the abbreviation became the same.

The emblem of the club took its modern look in 2002, thanks to the designer Serrahim Clara. The outlines of the coat of arms took on smoother forms - at the bottom, instead of a trident, there was one tip, the same thing happened on the sides. The dots separating the initials of the club were also removed, and the style of the abbreviation itself was changed.

The most interesting change concerns the present times. After signing a contract with one of the Qatari foundations, “Barcelona was forced to remove the horizontal strip from the part of its emblem that symbolized the cross of St. George. This was done in favor of the interests of the Muslim population of Qatar, which was offended by this symbol of the crusades. Otherwise, no one would buy team shirts.

Sponsors

Surprisingly, one of the most popular clubs in the world until 2006 refused any extraneous inscriptions on their shirts, unless it was the logo of a technical sponsor on the right chest of the players. The team has never had a title sponsor in history.

Everything changed in 2006, when the title sponsor finally appeared. From that moment on, the logo and abbreviation of the United Nations Children's Fund - UNICEF flaunted on the shirts of the Catalan team. The piquancy of the whole situation lies in the fact that, unlike other teams that sell the most advantageous place on their shirts to large companies for huge money, Barcelona itself paid a certain amount of million euros a year to UNICEF to have the right to have their logo on their T-shirts.

But it is very difficult for a football club that does not earn on everything that is possible to survive in modern conditions. And in 2011, Barca was forced to end its cooperation with the children's organization. Since the 2011/12 season, the sponsor Qatar Foundation has also been written on jerseys. Qatar Airways has been the title sponsor since the 2012/13 season. The last two sponsors, of course, placed their names on the jerseys of the world's best football players for a huge amount of money.

Russian football players

Over the 114 years of the team's existence, of course, it has not been without the active participation of Russian football players in the history of the club. True, there were only two Russians in Barcelona. And of these, only one person managed to play for the "basis" of the Catalan club.

The only Russian who entered the field in the "Barcelona" was a former assistant Guus Hiddink And Dick Advocaat in the Russian national team, ex-sports director of St. Petersburg "Zenith" Igor Korneev. Famous Russian football player even managed to distinguish himself as part of the legendary club. Korneev scored his only goal for Barça in 1994 in the Champions League against the champions of France PSG. Unfortunately, Korneev's career in Catalonia was short-lived. Already in 1995, he was forced to change teams and left for Holland. It is interesting that Igor ended up in Barça, having moved from the camp of the sworn enemies of Barcelona, a club that shares one city with blue garnets, Espanyol.

The second player, by the way, who still regularly wears the colors of the Catalan team, is the Russian defender Roman Tugarinov. The only circumstance that does not allow this central defender to enter the field is the stadium Nou Camp under the roar of a hundred thousandth crowd - his age. The fair-haired boy was born in 1999 in Ulan-Ude. Moving to Barcelona at the age of three, he began playing for one of the local city teams, where he caught the eye of the all-seeing scouts of Barcelona. As part of Barça, the guy has been playing since 2009 and regularly gets into the basis of Cantera, youth team, which already speaks of its great prospects. It remains to be hoped that the coaches of the Russian national team will also see talent in him and will not present a defender of the national team, say, to Spain. If it goes like this, then it is he who will be able to go as part of our national team to the home world championship in 2018. Then Roman will be 19 years old.

Barcelona is more than a football club. It is worth believing the motto of the "blue garnet" - that's what the players are called football team Barca all over the world.

These words are half a century old, they are also written in the stands of the largest stadium in Europe, owned by the club. They appeared in 1968 after the speech of President Carreras, who emphasized the social significance of the club for the Catalans and as a sign of opposition to the ruling regime. Today they continue to be relevant, because the club's public and charitable projects have long entered the world stage.

The coat of arms of the city is like an emblem on the heart of every footballer. And the army of FC Barcelona fans is breaking the record in terms of number.

Needless to say, the club as a global football phenomenon is being studied in detail. This does not prevent him from winning him all new victories, cups, titles and gratitude. Barcelona have the championship in Europe and the fourth place among the world teams. Its players have been awarded the Ballon d'Or more often than others, and among them there are many who are the best in the world.

For the past five years, Barça have been named among the most expensive clubs, and its value is growing, as is the number of trophies obtained, which replenish the museum. By the way, it is as popular in Spain as the most famous - the Picasso Museum.

Fateful and incredible - it's all about him, the most titled Spanish football club.

Stepped over a hundred

The club might not have existed if Joan Gamper had not fallen in love with Barcelona back in 1889. The Swiss then had a completely different name, but changed it to a more harmonious one for the Catalans. A sports journalist, a lover of many sports, an aspiring businessman settled in Barcelona, and after a while he founded a football club. He was only 21 years old. Then he did not come up with anything more original than finding the players for the first tournament through a newspaper ad. And it worked: several people who wanted to get involved in an adventure responded at once.

Gamper himself scored goals well: he became the captain of the club and in four years, having played in 48 mats, scored a hundred goals. True, by 1908 the positions of the Barcelona team were lost, the club had not won anything since 1905, many excellent players left, they could not find a replacement, the financial situation became more complicated, and collapse threatened. Gamper couldn't let that happen. He announced his candidacy for the presidential elections and delivered a speech in which he admitted that he had made a mistake by retiring and was ready to take up the revival of the club again.

He was elected five times, spent a quarter of a century at the helm, devoting himself to football. During this time, the team became the champion of Catalonia 11 times, won the Spanish Cup six times.

Gamper shot himself at the age of 52, he could not survive the expulsion from the club for political reasons. He spent five nightmarish years away from it, suffering from depression, personal problems and lack of money.

Politics will intervene more than once in club life, completely reshaping the commands and coaching staff. But, despite the numerous problems, he will be able to declare himself.

For the first time the club will win the championship of Spain in 1929. And only in 1945 the team will repeat the success.

Directly involved in the victories was the highest paid Barcelona player, who was invited by Gamper himself - Josep Samitier. He became the champion of Catalonia twelve times, and after football career started coaching, and achieved a significant take-off. The beginning of the 50s will go down in the history of the club as the “five cup season”. After that, the management will decide on the construction of a new stadium, which they wanted to name after Gamper. This was again opposed by the Spanish authorities. The Nou Camp stadium was built in seven years and became the largest in Europe.

But the ancestor of the “blue garnet” is still remembered: the sports complex of the club, opened in 2006, bears his name, there is Gamper Street in Barcelona. And the number one membership card is also assigned to him, the man whose name is always pronounced by the players, pouring themselves champagne on November 29th. This date is considered the birthday of the club.

On this day, a multi-million army of fans regularly walks, the press publishes significant facts from the centennial life of the club, players and coaches confess their love to him. Sometimes on the field. So, the Barca team celebrated its 110th anniversary with a match with its eternal enemy Real Madrid, and under the light show and the stormy rejoicing of the fans, they still won. Someone calculated that at that time football players entered the Nou Camp stadium, the cost of which amounted to 764 million euros. Almost the same amount now costs the players of only one team of Barcelona.

Backbone: Barcelona squad

Barcelona players have become champions many times and brought fame to the club. It has always had famous footballers in its ranks, starting with Paulino Alcantara and ending with Lionel Messi.

But best years in the history of FC, the last ten years are considered. Starfall occurred during the work of Josep Guardiola. A coach who went down in history as one of the most titled. With him in 2008-2013. the Catalans took the super cup three times and climbed the podium of the championship of their country, won the Club World Cup and a number of other prestigious competitions. In 2009, the team won all tournaments, became the best in La Liga for the twentieth time and was the only one in the country to score a golden hat-trick.

On account of Guardiola himself - 14 awards, almost the same number for another successful coach and former player Dutchman Johan Cruyff.

The winner of three Golden Balls came to Barcelona in 1973. It cost the club 922 thousand euros - a fabulous amount in those days. But a year later, the team reached the final of the world championship.

As a coach, he, along with the players of Barcelona, celebrated the team's victory in the national championship four times in a row (1991-94). He retired in 2013 and died two years later.

By the way, only six players have the highest football award. For the first time it was received in 1960 by Luis Suarez - the only Spaniard with the Golden Ball. He was nicknamed the "Architect" for his passing accuracy, excellent dribbling and furious attacks on the positions of the left central midfielder. He gave Barcelona seven years, then, together with coach Helenio Herrera, moves to the Italian Inter. He is the first Spanish legionnaire in Italy, his photo did not leave the covers of magazines for more than ten years. In the late 80s, he coached the Spanish national team. He turned 83 this year.

The legendary Hristo Stoichkov, a Bulgarian legionnaire, could not refuse the coach of the "blue garnet" Johan Cruyff and for 2 million pounds in 1990 came under his wing. In total, he gave seven years to the Catalans, having scored 114 goals against opponents. In 1994, he won the Golden Ball, and after completing his career in 2004, he coached teams from different countries. But having pretty much traveled around the world, he returned to Bulgaria, but even here his services were ineffective. By the way, football stars are not always successful coaches, for example, Diego Maradona is also included in this list.

The $26 million acquisition of Rivaldo proved to be successful for the 1996 season. The Brazilian is still grateful to the club, because he spent the most successful matches in it. He entered the history of the club as the owner of the Golden Ball (1999).

Another Brazilian who left a good reputation for himself is Ronaldinho. The 2003 acquisition for $32 million proved to be a landmark for the team. Not only did he bring victory to the team more than once, he also added to the treasury of personal achievements. Huge money was offered for him, but Barcelona refused to sell him. In 2005, the player joined the galaxy of those awarded the Golden Ball, and three years later a deal was made with Milan. But almost ten years later, fate brought him together with the Catalans again: now he is the club's ambassador, represents him at all official events, plays in a team of veterans and is quite successful.

The hope and bonds of the Catalans - Lionel Messi is not going to end his career yet, although he has been on the field for the blue garnet for the 17th year. The unrivaled Leo Messi with five Ballons d'Or came to the club at the age of 13, and no amount affects his decision to stay at Barcelona. He is called a living legend for his unique playing technique, talent and many beautiful goals.

There are a large number of team achievements, but even more personal ones - titles, awards, titles. Their number is approaching two hundred in the ten years that he has been playing in the first team of Barça. Her pupil, devoted and inimitable, the author best goals, passes, record holder of everything. It is likely that his captaincy history at the club, which began at the beginning of this year, will also affect the team's rise in the standings.

By the way, only one Russian left his mark on famous club. He played for the Catalans for a very short time, and even managed to score in one of the 1993 Champions League matches, scoring a goal for the Paris Saint-Germain team. Midfielder Igor Korneev ended his career two years ago, tried to be a coach, but it did not work out. But Roman Tugarinov has high chances to move from the youth team to the main team. The 17-year-old Buryat has signed a one-year contract with the club, he plays on the right in central defense and is said to be showing good results.

Well, a few more facts about Barcelona. Average age its players are 26 years old, more than half are foreigners, nine are pupils of the club, six are newcomers and the same number are veterans who have given the Catalans more than five years. Andres Iniesta has been the longest-serving midfielder at Barcelona. He has 14 seasons to his credit. He recently spent his last match on the side of the Catalans.

The team is currently coached by Ernesto Valverde. He is 54 years old, he is an ex-player of Barcelona, the contract was signed for two years, that is, until 2019. In the last season, the "blue garnet" again on the podium of the championship of Spain, they became the best for the 25th time.

Love without borders

The team is loved all over the world, and the number of fans is incalculable, although experts assure that it is more than that of their rivals. At least, more than a hundred million people have subscribed to the Facebook page alone.

In Barcelona, tourist shops are willing to sell souvenirs with team merchandise. The Barca emblem can be seen not only on traditional T-shirts, badges, mugs, flags and caps, but also on umbrellas, towels, backpacks, toys and other things.

Blue garnet color appeared in the era of its founder, but no one knows for sure what this choice is connected with. But it is known for sure that the coat of arms became the emblem of the club. It has changed over the years, but the symbols of the flag, ball and St. George's cross have remained the same. The finishing touches to his appearance introduced by the designer in 2002.

The club also trains teams in other sports: basketball, handball, futsal and roller hockey. The players wear blue garnet uniforms. The club also supports amateur teams in many areas, such as rugby, cycling and baseball.

Barcelona also have their own anthem written for the club's 75th anniversary. It is played at the Camp Nou stadium before the start of the game and at the end, as well as in honor of the team's victory.

By the way, a few meters from the main stadium in the Blaugrana Sports Palace, the Barcelona B reserve team, as well as women's and youth teams, play.

The club makes good money on souvenirs. According to the FC's open data, for the 2015 season the budget grew to $680 million. The amount also includes the sale of tickets for matches and more. Television broadcasts bring about 300 million euros a year.

Barcelona have debts that have to be repaid in instalments. The exact figure is not known, but seven years ago the losses amounted to about 400 million euros.

This does not prevent experts from putting Barcelona in the top three in terms of value with an amount of three billion dollars.

By the way, Barça exists on the contributions of the members of the club, who are its co-owners. The president is elected by the board of directors every four years.

El Classico

This is the name of the matches between two Spanish opposing teams. The eternal and irreconcilable rival of Barcelona is Real Madrid. Two cities representing the strongest FC, opponents and in politics.

This, of course, is reflected in the game: furious and spectacular. For fans, these fights become a real holiday, and the press predicts the results in advance, spurring interest.

In the last match, Barcelona won, making Real Madrid pretty nervous.
