Naga biathlon squads. Russian women's biathlon team

Results of the biathlon season 2016-2017 So the next biathlon season has come to an end! The season we have been waiting for and now it ends in Oslo! Let's sum up the season in this blog! Let's start with the long-suffering, but with the most beautiful team in the world, the Russian women's team. Women's national team of Russia Season does not get better from season to season! The closer the 2018 Olympic Games are, the worse the results of our girls are getting worse and worse. Change coach again? Will this make sense? In general, our women perform very consistently! The move is within a minute of lagging behind the leader, and everyone’s shooting is not shaky, not rolls. The hearts of the fans beat faster after the stage in the Czech Republic. There, when no one believed in our team, Tatyana Akimova won in the sprint. Nobody could believe it, Tanya tore and threw on the track. Even Koukalova defeated at the finish line! This girl, a newcomer to the 2015/16 season, and now also the winner of the World Cup stage, immediately stuck in the memory of Russian fans! But there were many comments that, they say, even a stick shoots once a year! But the Chuvash athlete wiped her nose to the fans in the next race, where she took bronze! And it was Tatyana Akimova who helped win bronze in the mixed relay at the World Championships! That was incredible! Added to the positives triumphant return Irina Starykh after a 3-year disqualification! At the World Championships, Ira showed 4th result in the pursuit race, overtaking eminent athletes at the finish line! After that, Ira constantly showed the best move among the Russians and was in the top of the athletes. Question for SBR? Look, Irina has not trained with the national team for three years! She was trained by her own trainer and trained her so that she overtakes Kaisa and Dorin Habert. Do we keep those people in the coaching staff? Did Noritsyn contribute something to our team? After all, it’s not the girls’ fault, but the coach’s! Again, the problem is with Olga Podchufarova. The next season, Olya is simply killed in training, little by little, as we see, the same thing happens with Akimova. Podchufarova finished the season ahead of schedule for the second time! But I will say thanks to Olechka, and yet she became bronze medalist World Championship in the mixed relay. EVALUATION of the Russian women's team for the season - 3 Tatyana Akimova - 3 medals (gold, bronze, bronze) Olga Podchufarova - 1 medal (bronze) Ekaterina Glazyrina - flowers Irina Starykh - flowers Daria Virolainen - flowers. Russian men's team Let's move on to the men's team! Everything is much more interesting here! Many athletes have been on the podium in our team. The team has a lot to strive for and at the 2018 Olympics I want to see a real biathlon close-knit Russian family! We saw the incredible Anton Babikov, who immediately fell in love with the Russian fan, it is on him that our great hopes will be in Pyeongchang. Well, how could we forget about our leader Anton Shiplin. Anton again became the second in the World Cup and for the third year in a row Shipulin has not left the top three of the total. Anton can be given a solid 4+, since too often Shipulin created problems for himself in sprints and then heroically overcame them in the pursuit. It is because of this that Anton collected a large number of wooden medals at the World Cup. Anton has already had two victories this season! The main result for the men's team is the victory of the MHG under the relay program! And of course, at the World Championships, our team became champions in the relay as part of: Volkov, Tsvetkov, Babikov, Shipulin. How did they sing the anthem? Oh! The whole Hochfilzen was trembling! Season 2016-2017 is over! Now the incredibly long off-season and the agonizing wait for the Olympic season!

The Russian biathlon team opens the 2016-2017 season. On the last weekend of November, the Biathlon World Cup started, which the Russian team starts as one of the favorites. Well, the leader of the Russian team itself - and one of the main contenders for victory in the individual World Cup - is, of course, Anton Shipulin.

The composition of the Russian team for the Biathlon World Cup 2016-2017

The composition of the Russian biathlon team for the first stage of the 2016-2017 World Cup in Östersund, Sweden - as a guideline for the entire long one. In general, in the season biathlon 2016-2017 composition of the Russian team is selected quite powerful.

Judge for yourself. The leader of the Russian men's biathlon team, as we have already said, is Anton Shipulin. The second number of the men's team will be Evgeny Garanichev, and the third one will be Dmitry Malyshko from St. Petersburg. On the other hand, Maxim Tsvetkov and Anton Babikov, who has been rapidly progressing lately, will compete for the status of the third with Malyshko. Well, Matvey Eliseev and Yuri Shopin, included in the Russian national team at the first stage of the World Cup at the last moment, are seen as such dark horses. Shipulin and Tsvetkov will run the mixed relay, Garanichev the individual race, and Babikov the single mixed relay.

In the immediate reserve for men are Alexei Slepov and Petr Pashchenko, who may appear in the Russian national team in the next stages.

Russian women's biathlon team

Our Russian women's biathlon team also, of course, has its own obvious leader - this is Olga Podchufarova. Moreover, in our female composition biathlon also has a pronounced second number - this is Ekaterina Glazyrina. But Svetlana Sleptsova, who has not competed at the World Cup for three years, will at first be drawn into the season, remembering the competitive rhythm.

We add that Tatyana Akimova and Victoria Slivko also joined the Russian women's team for the stage in Östersund. Akimova and Sleptsova will compete in the mixed relay, Podchufarova will run the individual race, and Slivko will compete in the single mixed relay. In the reserve - young Ulyana Kaisheva and Irina Uslugina.

It is also worth noting that there is a change of generations in the Russian women's biathlon team. The leaders of the recent past - Olga Zaitseva and Olga Vilukhina - ended their careers. And Ekaterina Yurlova gave birth to a child, and in the near future it is hardly worth waiting for her return to biathlon.

Quite recently, the intrigues and incredible experiences of the last biathlon season have ended, as the time has come for the 2017 World Cup in this sport. The strongest athletes from France, Germany, Norway, Russia and other countries will fight for the opportunity to lift the coveted trophy and get a check for a decent amount of money.

Unlike the world championship, these competitions are not held at the same time. To win the tournament, it is necessary to overcome all nine stages with maximum performance, which, as a rule, are organized on different continents. Therefore, the winner must have excellent physical training and cold-blooded character.

2017 World Cup Schedule

Biathlon World Cup 2017 will start on November 28 this year. It is at the end of November that the first stage begins in the city of Östersund (Sweden). The tournament will continue until March 19 next year, the last day of competition will be held in Oslo (Norway). As a result, this sporting event will continue for six months.

Each stage will last about seven days and will include six different types of races, which will be held in nine cities around the world. This number of venues for the Biathlon World Cup has not changed since the 1999-2000 season.

Stages of the World Cup 2017

On this moment nine cities have been established that will host competitions on their territory. One of them is in Asia, and eight others are in Europe.

  • Russia - Tyumen
  • Norway - Oslo
  • South Korea - Pyongchang
  • Italy - Antholz
  • Germany - Ruhpolding
  • Germany - Oberchov
  • Czech Republic - Nove Mesto
  • Slovenia. – Pokljuka
  • Norway - Östersund

It is especially pleasant to see our Tyumen in the list of cities. Athletes will compete with each other in the Russian city from 03/06/2017 to 03/12/2017.

It's no secret that athletes during the season, in addition to the World Cup, will also take part in other championships. First of all, the conversation is about IBU Cup and the world championship. Wherein individual achievements athletes at the Biathlon World Championships next year will be included in overall rating world cup. As a result, it can be characterized as an additional stage.

Varieties of disciplines

The following male and female disciplines have been identified in which athletes will find out which of them is better.

  • Women's and men's relay: 4x7.5/4x6
  • Mixed relay: 2x6+2x7.5
  • Mixed single relay: 1x6+1x7.5 km

For both women and men, the mixed relay distance has the same distance. But one important point must be taken into account. The thing is that the points acquired in all types of relay races of the Biathlon World Cup do not go into the overall standings of the athlete. Only points in individual championships are taken into account, of which there are four varieties in the tournament.

  • Mass start: 15/5
  • Pursuit: 5/10
  • Sprint: 10/5
  • Women's and men's individual race: 15 and 20 km respectively

Potential Winners

The absolute champion of the last few seasons among men is Martin Fourcade (France). This athlete raised the coveted trophy over his head 4 times from 2012 to 2016. As for women, it can be said that one cannot single out a clear favorite from among them. Over the past five years, Daria Domracheva, Tura Berger, Kaisa Mäkyaryanen, and Madgalena Neuer have been on the first line. The last two athletes did it twice.

It's a shame that our biathletes are not so often pleased with victories in this championship. In the Biathlon World Cup the most titled Russian athlete is Chepikov Sergey. He managed to get a gold award back in the USSR, at the 1990-1991 tournament. A few years later, already with the flag of Russia, Vladimir Drachev turned out to be the best athlete in this tournament (1996).

Approximately the same situation with our biathletes. Svetlana Davydova and Elena Golovina were World Cup winners in 1991 and 1989 respectively. The last domestic heroine who managed to climb to the top of fame is Reztsova Anfisa. She managed to become the winner in 1992.

The composition of the Russian team

To the delight of all fans, the crisis in Russian biathlon came to an end. All controversial points regarding doping have been resolved, and young athletes are rapidly breaking out into the leading lines. Youth are actively fighting for the most high places on any .

The men's team of our country is primarily represented by two stars - Evgeny Garanichev and Anton Shipulin. In addition to them, the arsenal of the Russian team includes Alexei Volkov, Alexander Povarnitsyn, Maxim Tsvetkov, Dmitry Malyshko.

Women will also look very worthy in the 2017 World Cup. The obvious leader at the moment is Ekaterina Yurlova. The girl survived a rather long disqualification, but did not lose her experience and professionalism. Also, younger athletes can compete with her: Daria Virolainen, Elena Shumilova, Olga Podchufarova.

They have already received a lot of awards and titles and are not going to stop there. Let's hope that the experience of the past championships will allow the novice champions to adequately perform at the upcoming large-scale tournament.

In the last week of autumn starts Biathlon World Cup 2016-2017 schedule which provides for nine stages plus the World Championship, points for which are also taken into account in the overall standings of the WC.
