Naturally, this did not happen (by the way, Sergei did not have time not only for adaptation, but even for normal rest - the 1999-2000 Ukrainian championship ended on June 20, and the English championship began in August).

Only in 2005 did the Ukrainians manage to qualify for the World Cup, and Sergei Rebrov still took part in the world football forum.
