Horse stencils. Horse stencils Silhouette of a horse for cutting

In this article you will find a selection of different horse stencils for cutting out of paper. Many craft lovers will find them useful for creating creations in a variety of ways. We have collected the silhouettes of these noble animals so that everyone can find what they are looking for. Big and small, calm and galloping, with or without a big mane, even unicorns and magic ponies - you can use all these unusual and beautiful horse templates for a variety of crafts.

Work often requires large stencils of horses (larger than A4 format). In this case, we advise you to download the picture to your computer and split it in a graphics editor into 2-4 or more parts, and then print it on separate pieces of paper. You can also add your own details to our templates - this is also easy to do.

Some images of horses are very simple, and you can easily transfer them to paper. Other horse stencils are much more complex, and even for simple cutting you will need to take thin scissors and work hard to ensure that the picture remains neat.

A simple paper horse for children with a template. Just print out the template, cut along straight lines, bend along dotted lines and you will get such a wonderful horse craft.

What materials were used in this work?

  • Double-sided brown cardboard;
  • Black double-sided paper;
  • Black felt-tip pen;
  • A simple pencil, scissors, glue stick.

Paper horse for children step by step

Print or redraw the template. Cut it out, for example, on white paper, and then trace the template with two parts onto brown cardboard.

You should end up with a flat body and two halves of the head connected at the top. You can fold the cardboard in half, redraw only one half on it and immediately cut out a ready-made horse head. At this stage, it is convenient to color the hooves with a black felt-tip pen, draw eyes, nostrils, a smile, lines on the ears and any others you wish.

Bend sections of the torso along the dotted lines. Fold your head in half along the dotted line.

Glue together two folded rectangular pieces of cardboard that will be located at the bottom of the neck. The body is ready.

Glue the head to the top of the neck, tilting it down slightly. Now the craft looks a little like a giraffe. Actually, using this template you can make a giraffe, just lengthen the neck a little and make the muzzle narrower.

Finishing the paper horse craft

But, since we have a horse, let’s transform the blank into the character we need.

For this you will need a mane and tail. Draw simple details based on the size of your horse. I didn’t draw a template, since it all depends on personal wishes, and these details are very simple, see photo.

  • The first part is the mane, make small cuts in a circle, like a fringe.
  • The second part is the tuft on the head, which also needs to be cut from one part into small strips.
  • The third is a tail in the form of a rectangle with a fringe.

Glue the mane onto the horse's back. Twist the tuft into a tube and glue it onto your head. Fold the tail a couple of times and attach it to the back of the horse.

Do you want to cook a dish in the shape of a horse? Or decorate New Year's gifts with the symbol of 2014? Yes, yes, we remember that in fact the Year of the Horse will begin on January 31, 2014, and not on New Year's Eve. And yet, many New Year's tables will be decorated with figurines; images of horses will appear on salads, cakes, muffins and pies.

In order to make a beautiful horse for the New Year, you need a simple, schematic drawing. Such that it would be easy for you to repeat it, and other people could easily recognize the horse in your craft.

What can you make into a horse from food?

Drawing of a horse on a platter

The simplest thing is to draw a horse on the flat surface of baked goods (pie, cake, gingerbread) or puff salad, casserole, pate. At the same time, the shape of the dish can be any - round, rectangular, square, figured. The main thing is to have a flat surface on which to draw the horse.

How to draw a horse on a New Year's platter

For dessert(cakes; gingerbread; cupcakes; on chocolate icing covering the cake) the outline of a horse can be drawn. Place it in a 10 gram medical syringe without a needle and draw, slowly squeezing out the glaze.

Or fill the same syringe with pieces of chocolate and, melting it (you can simply pour hot tap water over the syringe, the chocolate quickly begins to melt, just make sure that no water gets inside), draw a horse.

To paint confectionery products, you can use special colored gel pencils (confectionery decor). They are squeezed out in a thin thick stream and taste like jelly or jam.

On the salty You can paint with mayonnaise or thick ketchup. These are the simplest ways.

A on pies You can draw from yeast dough with a creamy flour mixture: mix flour with water so that the mass is thick but fluid (proportions: 2 tablespoons + 2 tablespoons of water), grease the top of the dough with vegetable oil. And on top of the pie, draw a pattern with a horse using a syringe or pastry bag. Then bake.

Horse silhouette (applique or figured dish)

Horse-shaped dishes (flat image)

You can make a horse like this - cut out a template. And based on it, prepare a figured dish (within the boundaries of the stencil). That is, the dish will be a flat image of a horse (or slightly convex, depending on what you do).

For example, within the boundaries of the stencil you can lay out any flat puff salad (and other holiday salads).

You can also make a horse from confectionery mass (it is plastic and easy to work with). And make the details of the horse (eyes, mane, tail) from butter cream.

Another option is to use a stencil to cut out a horse figurine or its head from the dough. In this way you can make yeast pies, puff pastry pies (they will be less beautiful than yeast ones, but you can), and cakes from. Horses must be cut out of this dough while the dough is still raw.

If you are baking a sponge cake, then the horses can be cut out from ready-baked thin cakes before assembly. But it’s safer to cut the horse out of the whole sponge cake after assembly (coat the cakes with butter cream, cool so that the cake is set).

The cake is decorated with a horse made from pastry fondant

Or decorate the main dish with a horse silhouette cut from a flat product. That is, make an applique on it instead of a drawing. But, keep in mind that there are not many products from which it is possible to cut such a complex figure: flat slices of cheese, sausage, a sheet of lavash, pancakes, pastry mastic (marzipan or). To decorate with applique, another method would be more suitable: trace the template along the contour with some edible drawing mass - that is, make a border. And fill the silhouette of the horse with pieces of food. Due to the contour, this mosaic image of a horse will look solid and well recognizable.

You can also decorate dishes with patterns of horses made from choux pastry. You can put silhouettes of horses on baking paper and place it on a baking sheet. And along these lines squeeze out a thin outline of the dough. After baking, you will have elegant decorations, they taste like snacks or straws, not sweet or salty, neutral, therefore, suitable for decorating any dish that will not get soggy. You can see how such decorations are made.

Horse-shaped dishes – design ideas

Which image of a horse is more convenient to work with?

Image of a knight - chess piece

A realistic horse figure has many delicate parts that can break and cause a lot of trouble (for example, long thin legs). Therefore, it is better to use a decorative, simplified image of a horse, where the legs are shorter and thicker. Or do not make the whole horse, but only the head (muzzle).

A simplified image of a horse is used in children's toys, fairy tales, children's books, and cartoons. You can get ideas from there.

Knights - chess pieces

From the point of view of a food lover, it is better to prepare dishes in the shape of a horse's head. Because there is a lot of food there (a large surface that can be filled with filling, cream, etc. and make the dish tasty) ... because if you sculpt or cut out thin horse legs from food ... well, what will you eat there?

Of all the images of horses, for dishes in the shape of a horse, I would choose templates and stencils of chess pieces of horses. They are compact, without small parts, there is a lot of solid surface (you can eat and work comfortably - they won’t fall apart).

Stencils and drawings of horses

Here are templates that will be useful for baking shortbread cookies, shaped cakes, pies, preparing salads and other horse-shaped dishes, and decorating ordinary dishes on the 2014 New Year's table. And for other crafts that you plan to please your loved ones in the year of the horse.
