Statistics of all Ken Shamrock's fights: 45 fights, 28 of which ended in victories, 15 in defeat, and 2 in a draw.

Part 1: Life Before Wrestling: Ken Shamrock had a difficult childhood. He was born in Georgia. His real name is Kenneth Wayne Kilpatrick. The father hardly saw his son, and the mother could not keep track of Ken and his two older brothers, so very often Ken and his brothers were unattended and often got into fights with other children. When Ken was five years old, his mother divorced his father and married Bob Nance. This man did not know how to raise children correctly, so he often used a belt in his education. That is, the children were actually abandoned - Ken's brothers began experimenting with drugs. At the age of ten, Ken first ran away from home, and when he was thirteen, Bob threw him and his two brothers out of the house. Then Ken came to Bob Shamrock - this man had a ranch, where he worked with problem children, helped children get on their feet and find a good place in life. When Ken turned eighteen in February 1982, Bob Shamrock officially adopted Ken, and Ken had the father he had always dreamed of. But Ken still had enough problems. He changed many jobs, but finally Ken Shamrock met Tina Ramirez, whom he married in 1988. And soon Ken became a father.

Part 2: First performances: Shamrock began his career in the same year 1988. He was first trained by Buzz Sawyer at his Academy, and then he trained with Nelson Royal at the ACW school, where he later began performing. Ken also tried his hand at fighting for money to earn a living, and won three fights out of all. ACW folded in 1988 and so Ken began working for the South Atlantic Professional Wrestling Federation. He first performed under the name Wayne Shamrock, and his manager was “Number One” Paul Jones. Ken won his first televised match in a matter of seconds, pinning his opponent after a Belly-To-Belly Suplex. Then, however, he became a heel and began performing under the name “Mr. Wrestling” Vince Torelli. In 1991, in February, Shamrock defeated Chris Chavis in the final of the tournament for the main title of the federation. But, nevertheless, the first stage of Ken Shamrock's wrestling career has come to an end. Soon, Masakatsu Funaki and Minoru Suzuki opened their own martial arts federation, specializing in porter wrestling, throws and grappling, and Ken Shamrock was offered a place in this federation. Thus, Ken began to train and improve his skill. In September, Funaki and Suzuki formed the Pancrase Federation, and Ken Shamrock was among them, ready to surprise and win, which he did, defeating Funaki in the main match of the show. Ken continued his winning streak by defeating Yoshiki Tahakasshi and Yusuke Fuke, then Ken also began performing in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). In November 1993, Ken defeated Pat Smith, and then lost to Royas Grace in the final of one of the tournaments. The defeat to Grace had a strong effect on Ken, and he began to lose in his native Pankrais. First Minora Suzuki and then Frank "The Beast" Lobman in a kickboxing match. Shamrock returned to the UFC at UFC show III to participate in the next tournament, but dropped out of the tournament due to injury. But this did not stop Ken from continuing his training to defeat Grace. Meanwhile, in Pankrais, the time has come to determine the King of Pankrais. Accordingly, the tournament was held. Ken's first opponent was Alex Cook, whom Ken defeated in 1 minute and 31 seconds. Ken's next victim was Maurice Smith, whom Ken also defeated without special problems. In the semi-finals, Ken defeated his old friend Masa Funaki. And finally, Ken Shamrock, in a difficult 30-minute final, defeated Manabu Yamada by a judge's decision (3-0). And thus Ken became the first king of Pankrais. Shamrock successfully defended the King's title against Leon Dijk and Bas Rotenn, but lost it to Minora Suzuki on May 13th, 1995. At UFC V, Ken Shamrock finally fought his old enemy, Royas Grace. Ken dominated the entire match, but the match ended in a draw (time - 36.06 minutes). At the sixth UFC show, Ken fought against Dan Severn for the title of the first “Superfight” champion. In just three minutes and forty-nine seconds, Ken defeated Severn to become the first champion. Shamrock defended the title against Oleg Taktarov and Kimo, but lost it to Dan Severn at the 9th UFC show (By decision of the judges - 2-1). Losing to Severn was like a low blow for Shamrock. In addition, Dan accused Shamrock of using steroids, and the judges forbade the use of headbutts and certain punches, but, nevertheless, Shamrock continued to perform. At Pancrase on June 25th, Ken fought against Funaki, but lost because he had to stop the fight due to Shamrock's injury. On December 7, 1996, Ken made his final UFC appearance at Ultimate Ultimate, where he defeated Brian Johnson.

Part 3: World Federation Wrestling: During his career as a fighter without rules, Ken managed to open his own school - Lion's Den (Lion's Den), where students could learn self-defense and fighting without rules, in the style of Shamrock. Ken still runs the school, but he teaches children not he, but him brother Frank and some of the students. On February 24, 1997, Shamrock made his first appearance in the WWF, albeit as a spectator. But soon after that, he signed a contract with the federation for three years for 1 million dollars. Then Shamrock gave several interviews, after he was named the special referee for the match between Steve Austin and Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13, under the "I Quit" rules. Ken did a very good job at the event. On April 7 on RAW, his first match took place in more than four years, Ken in two minutes in an "exhibition" match without rules (no holds barred), he defeated Vernon White. After the match, Vader appeared (who had also previously participated in fights without rules), who, of course, quarreled with Ken, starting a feud. And a month later on Na In Your House 15: Cold Day In Hell Shamrock defeated Vader in a No Holds Barred match, forcing him to submit to an ankle lock.

In this match, the poorly trained Ken accidentally broke Vader's nose in 4 places. Vader also could not walk for several days after the fight. Bret Hart began training The Rock and Ken Shamrock to enhance the skills and prowess of these up-and-coming wrestlers. After which Ken began a feud with the Hart Foundation. At Candian Stampede, The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Jim Neidhart, Brian Pillman and the British Bulldog) defeated Team Steve Austin (Austin, Shamrock, Goldust, "The Road Warrior" Beast and "The Road Warrior" Hawk). The match was good, Ken showed that he has improved a lot from his previous matches.

Part 4: One step from gold: The feud with the founding of the Harts continued, with Shamrock setting his sights on European Champion British Bulldog. On RAW, Ken defeated Bulldog, and at Summerslam 1997, during a match against Bulldog, Ken was unable to resist and was disqualified for beating Bulldog with a foreign object. After this, Ken competed in the tournament for intercontinental gold. In the first fight, he defeated Faarooq, but Ken injured his lungs in the match, so he had to leave for treatment. Upon returning from treatment, Ken was immediately given a match with WWF Champion Bret Hart. But, due to the large number of interferences in the match, Ken was unable to leave as champion. At the D-Generation X event, Ken Shamrock received a world title shot against Shawn Michaels. Ken won, but by disqualification due to interference from the Player and Chyna. Shamrock was scheduled to compete at the next UFC event, but his opponent Takada was unable to participate in the show, so Shamrock did not participate either. It's time for the 1998 Battle Royale. By this time, Ken Shamrock and The Rock had a big feud. Ken had to fight The Rock at the celebration for the Intercontinental Championship. Ken lost the match by disqualification after attacking the referee, whose behavior Ken did not like. The royal battle itself also did not bring much success to Ken, who was thrown out of the ring. But Shamrock continued his feud with the Nation of Domination and its member The Rock in particular. At In Your House 20, Shamrock and his new partner Ahmed Johnson defeated Team Nation. At WrestleMania XIV, Ken fought The Rock again for the title. Ken defeated Rock with his signature painful move, but this was not enough for him, and he did not let go of his opponent. When the referee team tried to stop him, Shamrock scattered them too. As a result, he did not receive the title because of his behavior. On one of the following RAWs, Ken Shamrock suffered a leg injury and again left the wrestling world for a while. To explain Ken's disappearance, bookers booked him a match on one of RAW, in which he fought as a team with Owen Hart. But Hart betrayed him and beat him severely, also injuring his leg. Ken returned on June 2nd on RAW and immediately attacked Owen. The Nation of Domination came to Hart's aid, but Den Severn helped Ken fight back. After Severn left, Shamrock was attacked by the Player, but Ken dealt with him as well. On the June 3rd taping of RAW, Ken nearly injured his leg again after The Nation attacked Ken, who defeated Kong in a qualifying match King of the Ring tournament. Severn again came to Shamrock's aid, who was later saved by Shamrock from Owen Hart. On June 15th, Ken and Dan fought against Owen Hart and Mark Henry, but Degeneration X burst into the ring and beat everyone up. A week later, Ken defeated Mark Henry with the help of Vader, becoming one of the participants in the King of the Ring tournament. At the celebration, King of the Ring Ken first defeated Jeff Jarrett, without any problems. And then in the finals of the tournament he defeated Rock, and became the new King of the Ring. A week later, Ken Shamrock defeated The Player and Owen Hart in a three-way match, however, after the match the winner was severely beaten. On July 6th, Shamrock fought Jeff Jarrett but lost due to interference from Viscera. Ken was not upset and challenged the latter to a fight that same night and won. At Fully Loaded, Ken fought against Owen Hart in a special match that took place at the Harts' training camp - the Hart Dungeon. The special judge was Dan Severn, who helped Owen win by betraying Ken.

Part 5: Fall in Popularity: On the August 17th Raw, Ken Shamrock fought in a three-way match against Owen Hart and Dan Severn. At the end of the match, Ken pinned Owen in the signature ankle lock and Severn pinned Shamrock. As a result, the match ended in a draw by the referee's decision. After the mast, a fight broke out, and Steve Blackman came to Shamrock's aid. Shamrock and Severn fought in a one-on-one match a week later. Ken won by disqualification due to interference from Owen Hart. Blackman came running to his aid again. After which Steve offered his services to Shamrock, but received a “belly-to-belly suplex” in response. At Summerslam, Shamrock fought Owen in the Lion's Den match - Ken and Hart fought in a 12-sided cage, in which victory could only be won by submission, which is what Ken Shamrock did. At Heat on September 13th, Ken defeated Vader, and after Shamrock said that he wanted to fight for the main federation title. Steve Austin answered his challenge that same evening. But Vince McMahon forbade Austin and Shamrock from fighting that day. On the next RAW, Ken fought Austin, but the match ended in a no contest due to interference Cain and the Undertaker. However, Austin and Ken fought back, and Rock and Mick Foley came running to their aid. Rock, Foley and Ken Shamrock agreed with each other to unite against common enemies - the Undertaker and Cain. Vince McMahon did not like it new union, and he appointed the above three a match for the right to fight the champion. But the match ended in a no contest due to interference from Undertaker and Cain. Soon there was another triple threat between The Rock, Foley and Shamrock. But this time the fight took place in a cage so that no one would interfere. At the end of the match, Mankind knocked out Shamrock with a chair and climbed over the cage. But Rock was smarter, pinning Ken, winning the match. During the match, the spectators actively chanted: “Shamrock Sucks.”

Part 6: First gold in WWE: On the next RAW, Ken began to become a heel. First, he spoke badly about Detroit (the location of the show), and then, together with Mankind and The Rock, they fought against Cain and The Undertaker. Despite the showdown between the team, Rock was able to defeat the enemy. A week later, Ken fought against the Disciples of the Apocalypse during a match with Mankind. But during the match, Shamrock hit his partner with a chair and left the ring. And a week later, Ken won a singles match against Cain. On the following RAW, Shamrock competed in an 8-man tournament for the Intercontinental Championship. In the first match, Ken held off a convincing victory over Steve Blackman, then defeated Val Venis and prevented Mankind from reaching the finals by hitting him with a chair. And in the finals, Shamrock easily defeated X-Pac, becoming the Intercontinental Champion for the first time in his career. The following week, Ken lost to Sean Waltman in a non-title match due to interference from Mankind, but Ken retaliated by attacking his foe during his match. A week later, Shamrock lost to Steve Austin in an "I Quit" match due to interference from Mankind. In the first match, he defeated Goldust, and lost in the second match to The Rock, who used a stick that the emerging Big Bossman threw to Ken's aid. The following week, Shamrock challenged Big Bossman to a match. The fight was tough, but ended in a draw due to the wrestlers being absent from the ring for too long. After the match, Vince McMahon came out, complimented both wrestlers, shook their hands, befriended Ken, who later in the evening defended Vince against Mankind, and stopped The Rock from winning by preventing the referee from counting The Rock's win. A week later, Ken and Big Bossman were unable to defeat Mankind due to interference from the J.O.B Squad, although later in the evening Shamrock and Bossman took revenge on their enemies by beating them up. And at Heat, Shamrock and Big Bossman defeated Mankind and Al Snow. Shamrock and Big Bossman's friendship continued, with Shamrock defeating Blackman with the help of a friend at the Capital Massacre. And at the Rock Bottom festival, Ken and Big Bossman almost became tag team champions, but lost To the Road Dog and Billy Gunn due to interference from Shawn Michaels. But the next day, in a rematch, Ken and Big Bossman defeated the New Age Outcasts, after the intervention of the same Shawn Michaels. Shamrock then lost to Billy Gunn, but he was very lucky because after the match, Shawn Michaels (then the fight manager) announced that the fight was a non-title fight. Soon the tag team champions began a feud with Bradshaw and Faarooq. Ken defended his title against The Player, but lost by disqualification after refusing to release the submission. Later that evening, Ken and his corporate friends beat up Billy Gun. Ken and the Big Bossman lost on the January 3rd edition of Heat to Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart in a non-title match. As a result, the evil Shamrock beat Venis with a chair. On January 31st, Ken defeated Owen Hart, and the following week he beat Val Venis with a chair during his match against Billy Gunn. On the next two RAWs, Ken attacked Venis twice and beat him brutally. And the second time he attacked several referees. After which the referees announced that they would not referee matches with Ken. But Billy Gunn appeared, volunteering to referee the match between Ken Shamrock and Val Venis at the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. Ken lost to Venis, due to slightly dishonest refereeing by Billy Gun. But not only did Ken lose, but he also lost his Intercontinental Championship title. The next day, Shamrock beat Gunn, and then together with Test and Big Bossman fought against Bradshaw, Faarooq and Mideon. The match ended in a no contest. But according to the contract he had to work for WWF until 2002.

Part 9: Outside of Wrestling: Outside of wrestling, Ken Shamrock continued to work, not as a wrestler, but as a road agent, and worked until 2000, after which he returned to mixed martial arts to prove that he is one of the best fighters of its time. Ken had a lot good matches in the UFC, including a very high-profile fight between Shamrock and Tito Ortiz. After almost 2 months of being the champion, Ken lost the title to Ron Killings due to the interference of the same Melis. Ken soon left TNA and returned to mixed martial arts. Again, Ken returned to TNA two years later, teaming with 3 Live Kru against Jeff Jarrett and his army of Gurnandez, Onyx and Chad Collier. And a week later, Ken unexpectedly interfered in the match between Jarrett and Killings and attacked Ron, helping Jarrett defeat him. A week later, Ken participated in a five-on-five match, representing Jarrett's team. Their team lost and Ken left TNA again for a mixed martial arts team. In 2004, Tito Ortiz came to TNA and refereed the match between A. Jay. Styles and Jeff Jarrett at TNA Hard Justice. Following this, he appeared again as a referee at TNA's Bound For Glory event, in a match between Rhyno and Jarrett. At the time, fans were eager to see Shamrock return and fight Ortiz. TNA liked the idea and offered Ken a contract, but he turned it down for unknown reasons.

Ken Shamrock had a difficult childhood. He was born in Georgia. His real name is Kenneth Wayne Kilpatrick. The father hardly saw his son, and the mother could not keep track of Ken and his two older brothers, so very often Ken and his brothers were unattended and often got into fights with other children.

Part 2: First performances:

Shamrock began his career in the same year 1988. At first he performed under the name Wayne Shamrock, and his manager was “Number One” Paul Jones. But, nevertheless, the first stage of Ken Shamrock's wrestling career came to an end. Shamrock returned to the UFC at UFC III to compete in another tournament, but was pulled out of the tournament due to injury. Ken's next victim was Maurice Smith, whom Ken also defeated without any problems. At the sixth UFC show, Ken fought against Dan Severn for the title of the first “Syperfight” champion. On December 7, 1996, Ken made his final UFC appearance at Ultimata Ultimate, where he defeated Brian Johnson.

Part 3: World Wrestling Federation:

During his career as a fighter without rules, Ken managed to open his own school - Lion's Den (Lion's Den), where students could learn self-defense and fighting without rules, in the style of Shamrock. Ken still owns the school, but he teaches children not he, but him brother Frank and some of the students. On February 24, 1997, Shamrock made his first appearance in the WWF, albeit as a spectator. But soon after that, he signed a contract with the federation for three years for 1 million dollars. Then Shamrock gave several interviews, after which led him to be the special referee for the match between Steve Austin and Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13, under the “I Quit” rules. UFC rules. After the match, Vader (also a former MMA fighter) showed up and, of course, got into an argument with Ken, starting a feud.At In Your House 15, Shamrock defeated Vader in a MMA match, forcing him to submit to an ankle lock. In this match, the poorly trained Ken accidentally broke Vader's nose in 4 places. Vader also could not walk for several days after the fight. Bret Hart began training The Rock and Ken Shamrock to improve the skills and prowess of these up-and-coming wrestlers. After which Ken began a feud with the Hart Foundation. At the Candian Stampede, The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Jim Neidhart, Brian Pillman and the British Bulldog) defeated Team Steve Austin (Austin, Shamrock, Goldust, "Road Warrior" Beast and "Road Warrior" Hawk). The match was good, Ken showed that he has improved a lot from his previous matches.

Part 4: One step from gold:

The feud with the founding of the Harts continued, with Shamrock setting his sights on European Champion British Bulldog. Shamrock was scheduled to compete at the next UFC event, but his opponent Takada was unable to make the show, so Shamrock did not participate either. But Shamrock continued his feud with the Nation of Domination and its member Rock, in particular. After Severn left, Shamrock was attacked by the Player, but Ken dealt with him too. On the June 3rd taping of RAW, Ken nearly injured his leg again after The Nation attacked Ken, who defeated Kong in a qualifying match for the King of the Ring tournament. The newly formed family moved to Napa, California, Nance's native. Shamrock and his brothers were outsiders in this community, coming from poor backgrounds and speaking with Southern accents, they continued to cause trouble and get into fights and began using drugs. Shamrock became interested in and excelled at sports at a young age, playing Little League baseball and Pop Warner football. Nance recalls a veteran coach telling him that he had never seen a player with as much heart and tenacity as young Shamrock. Shamrock was not involved with drugs like his brothers, such as his brother Richie, who enjoyed smoking marijuana and ended up using heroin intravenously, but who also played football.

At the age of 10, Shamrock ran away from home for the first time, and was stabbed to death by another child while running, ending up in the hospital. Shamrock, at the age of 13, was then kicked out of his home by his stepfather, and each of the brothers went their separate ways. Shamrock lived in cars as a result of being placed in foster care. He went through seven group houses and eventually departed for juvenile hall. He bounced around from several group houses before being placed in Bob Shamrock's house in boys aged 14, in Susanville, California where he turned his life. Bob Shamrock legally adopted Ken as his son, and Ken changed his last name from Kilpatrick to Shamrock in Bob's honor. Shamrock presented by Nielsen in 45 seconds, first threatening him suffocating and then blocking crank neck / keypad lock winning combinations. The success of this match made the young professional wrestlers Shamrock Masakatsu Funaki And Minoru Suzuki The question is that they were told, since the input into the predetermined fight: that no one would ever pay to see the real matches. First UFC Rivalry: Ken Shamrock vs. Royce Gracie

On November 12, 1993, after the first three Pancrase shows, Shamrock returned to America to fight in the newly formed Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) UFC 1 , an initiative in which he assisted and trained Masakatsu Funaki and Takaku Fuke.

The event took place as part of a one-night tournament format. In the first round, Shamrock was pitted against kickboxing stylist Patrick Smith, which he did a short job of throwing Smith to the mat and serving him with heel hook. His next opponent was Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu indicator and eventual tournament winner Royce Gracie. Shamrock fell apart attempting takedowns and maneuvering on top of Gracie, then grabbed his ankle and sat back down to attempt another heel hook. According to Shamrock, however, his hand was entangled in Gracie gi, and as Shamrock leaned back, he pulled Gracie on top of him, allowing Gracie to provide a choke and introduce Shamrock. Although this step is often listed as suffocating, Shamrock later stated that it was actually a g choke in which Royce had wrapped the fabric of his g around Ken's neck. The ending of the fight was also controversial, as the referee did not see the crane and ordered the two fighters to continue fighting after Gracie had to let go of the hold. Shamrock paused for a few seconds but refused, admitting the ref would burst and that it wouldn't be fair for him to continue fighting.

After the fight, Shamrock admitted that he underestimated Gracie. In 2008, he said: "I don't know who Royce Gracie was... When I saw him in GI, I thought he was some kind of karate guy [without any martial arts skills]." On the other hand, in 2015, Shamrock said that he was watching Gracie Jiu-Jitsu: in action, before the event started and showed Funaki and the others: “So one thing led to another, they started supporting me on IT - they did know that the Gs stand for a lot - but when they saw this too they thought: “Yeah, you can beat this The guy is very good." And I was sure, too." In any case, he blamed his loss on the fact that he was not allowed to wear it wrestling boots during bouts, while Gracie himself was allowed to wear his gi and Shamrock choke with him. “[Wearing shoes] is a lot of set ups and positioning for my leglocks—being able to get my knee in, being able to rotate and push off, and being able to secure the leg. You pick up your boots, it's like being on the ice on a mat if you've never done it before."

Shamrock was originally planned to compete on UFC 2 , but broke her arm after blocking a high kick while sparring with a teammate. He still wanted to compete, but when doctors told him he could never fight if he injured his hand further, he reluctantly retired.

On September 9, 1994, Shamrock returned to the Octagon at UFC 3 in an event that was sold to the UFC as the ultimate rematch between two-time champion Royce Gracie and #1 contender Shamrock. Shamrock's first fight, now allowed to wear boots, was against a highly ranked judo practitioner Christophe Leininger. Leininger goes to the ground, but Shamrock is blocked and got on top, not unloading hard blows And headbutts to shake out. Shamrock crossed Leininger so hard into the mat that Leininger admitted to knocking out for a second, and he was later shown to have suffered a mild concussion. Shamrock's next fight was in the semi-finals against a kickboxer Felix Mitchell. Shamrock took Mitchell down and forced him out of the chokehold. With this victory, Shamrock advanced to the finals UFC 3. However, Shamrock refused to compete in the finals after he learned Gracie had already been eliminated from the tournament after defeating Kimo Leopoldo, coupled with a knee injury, he suffered during the match with Leininger.

In March 2001, Shamrock was scheduled to fight Vovchanchyn on Pride 13 - Collision Course, but again suffered a neck injury during training two weeks before the fight, the same serious neck injury that ended his WWF career.

Even though he has not started his MMA career yet, Shamrock had his first fighting experience in Fujiwara Gumi, and the results of many matches were chosen, having wrestlers take part in competitive combat in gym. It was his first fight at high level with Dwayne Kozlowski, Dennis Kozlowski his twin brother and 1988 Summer Olympics Greco-Roman style, which Shamrock presented twice before running their actual match. A different situation arose with Kazuo Takahashi how he broke the script and shot on Shamrock in a November 1991 match, leading the American to fight back and knock him out with football kick in the face at 1:27. They fought a rematch in 1992, both fighters working hard tough, although with no more incidents. Shamrock himself praised Takahashi as a wrestler, comparing him to himself.
