Ring racing games - we drive in a circle

Circuit racing was among the first computer games. They continue to develop even now, becoming more and more diverse in terms of plot content and possibilities. The same type of cars, differing only in color, are now gaining individuality. Previously, you can tune a car or motorcycle, making it original. Now bring it to the track and wait for the signal to start. In the future, it all depends on the dexterity of your manipulations.

Opponents try to get around you, cut you off and even push you off the track. Do not try to repeat their rudeness, so as not to run into a fine. If you are in a simulator, online circuit racing games open additional features- stop for quick repairs and refueling, switching views from a general plan to a first-person view. Some flash toys use similar tasks, offering kids to go through a small quest with washing, refueling and changing car wheels before the race.

There will be a joyful meeting with the heroes of the cartoon "Cars", where everyone is trying to win the main cup. Mario, Fixies, Ben 10, Santa and other characters are not averse to compete for speed and experience extreme sports. In front of them on the road there are bound to be springboards and obstacles that need to be bypassed, so care must be increased.

Circuit racing features

Ring races are those races that take place on closed tracks. The classics are Formula 1 (2.3), GP1 (2.3), Super Production, Touring, but karting and rallycross, although also held on closed roads, do not belong to circuit races.

A track with a smooth, even surface is called an autodrome, and it also has its own characteristics:

  • A complex of structures intended for spectators and the maintenance of equipment.
  • Racing track with white markings.
  • The track has safety elements - nets, curbs, stopping fences, departure zones.
  • The ring track converges at one point - the point of departure of the car and its finish line coincide.

Circuit racing games go beyond the traditional

If in reality strict rules apply for circuit racing, then computer fun can afford to move away from rigid boundaries.

You can play drift racing games by driving a car on an icy road. The car enters with a slight deviation from the direct course. It is especially difficult to cope with it on turns, but this is the essence - the car should skid. There will be several tasks - in the first case, you need to repeat the movements as accurately as possible after the leading car, another time try to bypass other participants.

Water racing is even more difficult to attribute to circuit racing, but they are also present in this collection. Motor boats, yachts and boats put on a real show, raising fountains of spray. Everyone tries to finish the competition first, becoming the leader. We are rooting for you, and this should give you excitement and strength to become a winner.

Sometimes one of the tasks will be destruction. Crash at full speed into other cars, and the cooler the provoked accident with the participation of several objects, the better your rating will be. Going into space, you will not only leave the race track, but also the planet. And yet you are in the racing section, so start the engine, maneuver between asteroids, bypass other participants.

Race chairs around the office and help the floor polisher get the job done faster than anyone else by finishing your yard. And since we are so carried away, let's include dog and horse racing here.

If you are tired of football, do not rush to throw away the TV.

Beds, toilet bowls, balloons, lawn mowers, even coffins and pumpkins - that just does not serve as race cars! But cars are the most popular. But which ones and how exactly to compete on them is also a matter of a huge choice. Together with the Discovery Channel, we will tell you about the five main types of car racing. What is it for? Yes, to the fact that the Discovery Channel is approaching the finale of the Week of Speed. Her heroes are ready to strike sparks from the track for the sake of victory.

On paper, the conditions are simple: you need to drive a few laps faster than your rivals and successfully pass the turns. But in fact, all these hairpins, apexes, esques and chicanes bring a lot of adrenaline to pilots and spectators. Ring races are the ones that everyone dreams about: speed, fireballs with a bunch of buttons, overalls that do not take burning fuel, the roar of engines, the squeal of tires ... In general, quite a man's music.

Formula 1 is a legendary design-class circuit race in open-wheel cars that originates from British horse racing. This is the world championship where everything is the best: the fastest cars, the biggest budgets, the most successful pilots and the coolest engineering teams that are fighting for their constructors' championship. The stages are called Grand Prix, to access each of them you need to meet many conditions, and participation itself is the dream of any rider. This year, the fight also promises to be hot, although Formula 1. There is no one higher than the stars of these races in motorsport: Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, Rubens Barrichello, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen... The names speak for themselves.

NASCAR is the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing, which gave its name to the NASCAR Cup Series, the premier auto racing championship in the United States, the progenitor of which is illegal bootlegging racing. A powerful engine is hidden under light bodies, stylized as civilian cars, and the pilot is reliably protected by a safety cage. At each of the 36 racing stages of the year, cars turn left all the time on the ring track and try not to crash into the stands or rivals. Wheel explosions, car crashes, crashes into a concrete wall at speed, and fights after the finish line - that's all NASCAR. And the coolest pilot is Richard "King" Petty, who not only glorified these races, but also made them financially successful.

The Indy 500 (also Indianapolis 500 and The 500) claims to be the world's oldest regular auto race (although we believe it's the Sicilian Targa Florio), it's one of the most prestigious circuit races in the world and has been running since 1911. A distance of 500 miles of cars pass along the track, nicknamed the "old brick": for a long time the surface was made of bricks, which now remain only at the start-finish line. On Pole Day, after the qualifying heats, the order of drivers at the start is determined; on Push-Out Day, the losers are eliminated. Before the race, the owners of the track say "Gentlemen, start the engines!" (and ladies, if any). Millions of viewers from different countries watch the broadcasts of the Indy 500 races on TV, and already at the end of May you will be able to see everything with your own eyes, including a unique tradition: the leader at the finish line does not drink champagne, as in other races, but milk. But he receives a million dollars as a reward, so you can be patient.

No. 2. Rally

Track:

mostly closed public roads.

Coating:

asphalt, soil, gravel, ice, snow, sand, stones.

Rules.

Any rally is both an exam and a lottery. On the track there are stages on ordinary roads, special stages and even super special stages - they are more difficult, and it is there that there is a serious struggle for skill and time. There are no seasonal barriers, so it is not always clear in advance what kind of surface the pilots will meet on the way from point A to point B. Of course, there are detailed description route - a transcript, which is voiced by the navigator. But from the fact that you are kindly informed about the springboard or the pit ahead, somehow it doesn’t get any easier. The main competition in this category is the WRC (World Rally Championship) - the world rally championship under the auspices of the FIA, which is held at any time of the year.

Russian Rally Championship- a sequel to the Soviet racing series, the main tournament project of the Russian Automobile Federation and the opportunity to get, along with the title of the best racer in the country, a pass to big motorsport. The conditions are generally simple: your car has all the documents in order, and you yourself removed the yellow “U” sticker from the rear window a long time ago, received a RAF license and are ready to go through all the stages with maximum profit.

In the same paragraph, we will also mention rally raids, although they have little in common with rallies. The length of such races is measured in thousands of kilometers, they often pass through the territory of several countries and last for weeks. Our report on the rally-raid " Silk Road"You can read.

Dakar is the former Paris-Dakar rally raid, which is now held on the territory of South America, an annual transcontinental marathon in which professionals and amateurs compete in different classes, from cars to ATVs and trucks (in the latter, the traditional favorite is the Russian team "KAMAZ-master"). Each participant has a navigator, a GPS tracker in case of an emergency and a "legend" - a map on which to move. Cheaters are shamefully removed from the race, but this rarely happens - there are few people who want to go to a foggy future through dunes and stones. The winner will be the one who comes first and does not break on the way - both literally and figuratively. Throughout the days of the race, drivers and cars are working to the limit of their capabilities, and all breakdowns have to be fixed at night instead of well-deserved hours of sleep. That is why in the Dakar racers are often taken off the track to a hospital bed - to recuperate.

Budapest - Bamako(or Great African Run) - the world's largest amateur rally from Hungary to Mali under the motto "Anyone, anything, anyway". There are no conditions: the composition of the crew, the type of transport, the accuracy of the route and time are not important, and you can even walk to the finish line. The main thing is to help starving African children and other poor along the way. No, this is not a bearded joke, but the meaning of the whole action: the rally participants, for example, donated an ambulance to a hospital in Mali, dug a well in the village, bought medicines for a clinic in the slums, textbooks for children and bicycles for women who travel far to work. For the best help, Mother Teresa's award is due - not that everything was done for her sake, but it's nice, right?

No. 3. Trophy

Trophy Ladoga Forest, 2017. Photo: www.ladoga-trophy.ru

Track:

rugged terrain.

Coating:

swamps, rivers, windbreak, virgin snow, mud.

Rules.

Pilots of trophy-raids do not consider Russian roads a disaster: when the RAF Committee chooses a route according to the principle “the worse, the better”, it has more than enough options. This is the territory of all-wheel drive, high ground clearance, mud wheels and differential locks. Pilots on trained off-road vehicles, motorcycles and ATVs must pass the obstacle course without delay, errors and breakdowns. The last condition is not easy to fulfill: on the linear and navigation special stages, the probability of accidents and forced stops exceeds 146%, so the crews are equipped with shovels, hijacks, winches, cables and fearless navigators ready to get into the mud up to their waists. Trophy is one of the few tournaments where it is customary to help a competitor: if he drowns in a swamp because you drove past, no victory will fix it.

Expedition Trophy- the longest winter car race in the world, in which cold and tasks for logic are added to the virgin off-road. You need to navigate, drive, overtake, look for waypoints and live in field conditions for two whole weeks, moving from Murmansk to Vladivostok. In 2015, the race was decided to be held every five years, and if everything goes according to plan, the next one will take place in 2020. The promised prize for the winner is $100,000. There are smaller analogues of the Expedition-Trophy abroad: in Croatia (Croatia-Trophy), New Zealand (Outback Challenge), Ukraine (Ukraine-Trophy) and Malaysia (Rainforest Challenge).

Ladoga-Trophy - a raid with a start and finish on St. Isaac's Square in St. Petersburg. Competitors on advanced motorcycles, trophy bikes, ATVs and off-road vehicles must cover a 1200 km course, of which difficult special stages cover 150-400 km depending on the route in the legend. There are nine categories in Ladoga, including ATVs, sports and tourism, this year the trophy-raid in Karelia and the Leningrad Region will take place from May 26 to June 3.

Ladoga Forest 2017

Susanin-Trophy is an international raid made in Kostroma, which is supported by local media and the administration of the region, and the list of one hundred participating crews includes Belarusian, Georgian, Kazakh and Russian teams from different cities. One of the public's favorite features is the "viewpoints": these are banners that jeepers must reach at a time determined by the legend and touch them with their hands without leaving the car. The navigator takes a proof photo, and the audience can get into the frame and, at the same time, into the history of the trophy raid. As in the Budapest-Bamako rally, Susanin-Trophy has a charitable component: since 2009, participants have been helping one of the region's orphanages, and every year a new one.

#4 Endurance Racing

"24 Hours of Le Mans", 2017

Track:

indoor racing tracks.

Coating: Rules.

The name speaks for itself: you need to demonstrate not only skill, but also the fortitude of the spirit and body. And technicians! Like mere mortals, pilots have needs like food and sleep, but when it comes to racing, road, speed, and following the rules come first. Two classes of prototypes and two touring cars - GT participate in the world championship. At pit stops, pilots change and check the condition of the cars: it is necessary to pass the track first in its class, but breakdowns interfere, which sometimes have to be fixed for an hour or more.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans (24 Heures du Mans) is the world's oldest endurance race, which has been taking place in France at the Sarte circuit since 1923. The winner is the crew that was able to cover the greatest distance in 24 hours, because the goal of this race has always been the same - to determine the most reliable and economical car. The race is held in the summer, and the matter is often complicated by the heat, but no difficulties stop those who want to put on the symbolic “Triple Crown” of endurance racing, winning also the “24 Hours of Daytona” and “12 Hours of Sebring”. By the way, Le Mans races are also included in the triple combo of all motorsport: this is a victory in them, Formula 1 and IndyCar races. The authority of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is such that winning this race is considered by many drivers and teams to be more important than winning the entire World Championship.

24 Hours of Spa - the annual race of the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium on the track Spa - Francorchamps, the second oldest after the French daily race of pilots. It was first held in 1924. Racers rush along the seven-kilometer ring, trying to save the car and get ahead of their rivals, overcome weather conditions, fatigue and hunger. "24 Hours Spa" is not at all the spa that the girls talk about: it will not work to relax.

24 hours Nurburgring- a race that has existed since 1970 and is supported by the largest in Europe (and in the world!) German car club ADAC. The Nordschleife of the Nürburgring is called the "Green Hell" for a reason - it is one of the most dangerous tracks in the world. The start on the Nordschleife, which is divided into three groups, includes 220 sports cars. There are about eight hundred riders, three to six people per crew, each of which has the right to spend no more than two and a half hours behind the wheel. By the way, the "Green Hell" in 1996 was conquered by the racer Sabina Schmitz, and a year later she again accepted his challenge - and won.

In the 2020 season, the number of classes will increase to 8 - thanks to the introduction of offsets S2000(in it, gentleman drivers on TCR cars with DSG gearboxes will fight for the Russian Cup), SMP GT4 Russia(a tournament for amateur pilots who have chosen prestigious models of the international GT4 category) and Sports prototype CN(silhouettes MitJet 2L, Legends and Shortcut are allowed here). The last two classes have the status of the RAF Cup.

Touring- the most powerful cars with a capacity of about 350 hp. A similar class exists in European national championships, such cars hold the FIA ETCC European Cup. In the 2014 season, pilots on BMW 320si, LADA Granta Sport, SEAT Leon Supecopa, Subaru BRZ performed in Russian Touring. Starting from 2015, SEAT Leon Racers, prepared according to the requirements of the new international championship TCR International series, have been admitted to this class. In 2016, the number of such cars increased to eight, and in the 2017 SMP RCRS season, there were twice as many cars of the TCR category: in addition to SEATs, Audi RS3 and LADA Vesta sedans will appear in the field. A year later, the Volkswagen Golf TCR appeared, bringing the number of drivers in Touring to 24.

Hyundai i30 N hatchbacks made their debut in the 2019 season (Dmitry Bragin defended his champion title on one of them for the fourth time in a row), and in total, 27 athletes. In addition, pilots with international licenses fought in the open standings for the first time. TCR Russia approved by the FIA.

This is an engineering class that allows you to deeply upgrade cars of various makes and models: Kia Rio, Volkswagen Polo, Ford Fiesta, SEAT Ibiza, Renault Twingo, Peugeot 208, LADA Kalina NFR. For the 2017 season, the Hyundai Solaris hatchback was built according to the requirements of the Touring Light class. And in 2019, the Ravon R3 Nexia sedans started for the first time - and one of them brought Efim Gantmakher the title of vice champion.

S1600 (formerly National)- the most affordable and popular class. Since 2014, together with the most common LADA Kalina, domestically assembled Volkswagen Polo Sedan, Kia Rio, Ford Fiesta and Renault Sandero have been participating in the races. Now they will be joined by a novelty of AvtoVAZ - a restyled hatchback LADA Granta.

Boys and girls from 14 to 17 years old take part in it on domestic cars - these are LADA Kalina hatchbacks and Volkswagen Polo sedans. Technical requirements assume the same high level of security as in the senior classes of the SMP RSKG, but a smaller degree of improvements, the use of inexpensive components and affordable entry fees.

SMP Formula 4- a formula series for young drivers, which started as part of the Northern European Championship in 2015. In the 2019 season, we saw pilots at the start who fought for the RAF Cup and shared the paddock with SMP RSKG participants from other classes.

Every race weekend pilots of each class SMP RSKG carry out two races lasting 20-30 minutes.

Until this year, the cars of the scoring groups Touring and Super Production started in a combined race. However, in the SMP RSKG - 2017, the number of applications will allow separate races for each category without prejudice to filling the starting grid and entertainment.

In joint stages with the international body series TCR International series and formula SMP F4 Chamionship the number of races will increase.

At each stage there are trainings and qualifying races, which will determine the places of the pilots at the start of the first race, which is produced from the move. In SMP RSKG award ceremony winners of each race is held immediately after arrival. Cups are awarded for first, second and third places both in individual and team competition.

Cups for prizes in individual and team competitions at the end of the season are awarded at the final stage Russian circuit racing series.

The main Russian circuit championship, SMP RSKG, finished in the capital of Tatarstan. Events on the Kazan Ring track made the fans gasp more than once and adequately completed, perhaps, the most interesting season in last years. TO final stage in all classes it was, and the names of the owners of gold medals became known only in the last Sunday races!

The calmest fight was in the Touring class, where pilots competed in cars with two-liter turbo engines. However, it would be strange if the participants of the fastest class of the Russian ring would arrange a teenage crush. Dmitry Bragin from Togliatti confidently won the Sunday race and became a two-time Touring champion. On Saturday, the pilot of the branded team Lada Sport Rosneft Kirill Ladygin on Vesta, who no longer counted on gold at the end of the year, became the first. As for the other contenders for the title, neither Vladimir Sheshenin nor Alexei Dudukalo could give a fight to Bragin. Lada Vesta Sheshenina was not too fast because of the weight handicap received by the Urals for success in the previous stage. Well, the leader of the Lukoil Racing Dudukalo team lost points due to a departure from the track in the first race. As a result, the top three pilots in the individual standings retained their positions in Kazan, and the team title went to the pilots of Lada.

Dmitry Bragin from Togliatti (No. 1) put a golden point in the fastest class with a victory in the second race

In the RSKG Trophy standings, which is played in the Touring class among non-professional pilots, both times Irek Minnakhmetov excelled in the Audi RS3. The rider from Kazan had a strong season, winning several podiums in the overall standings, so his victory became natural. The second and third places according to the results of the RSKG Trophy were taken by St. Petersburg resident Klim Gavrilov and Muscovite Pavel Yashin in Seats.

In other classes, events developed with a great degree of intrigue. In Super Production, after the first race, Maxim Chernev came close to regaining the Russian Cup title: on Saturday, his main rival, Mikhail Mityaev from Togliatti, was out of action after a collision at the start. As a result, before the last race of the season, the contenders for the title were separated by only one point! Alas, on Sunday Chernev could not avoid contact with his teammate Efim Gantmakher - in the second turn, Vladislav Nezvankin from VAZ turned Nikolai Vikhansky's Honda around and Maxim broke the suspension on his Subaru in the resulting crowd. Thus, Mityaev won the first Russian Cup in his career, Chernev finished the season second, and Gantmakher not only took bronze in the individual competition, but also helped the Otkritie team win the team championship.

Suspension failure on Maxim Chernev's Subaru BRZ coupe prevented the Uralian from retaining the title of the strongest in the Super-production class

After Saturday's race in the 1600 cc Touring Light class, only four riders remained in pursuit of the title, and Timur Boguslavsky became the main loser. The young Kazan resident was confidently leading when the input shaft in the gearbox broke on his Peugeot 208! The first race was won by Denis Bulatov from the SMP Racing team, which strengthened the leading position of the Muscovite. However, on Sunday, the Volkswagen pilot was expected to start from eighth place - while his main rivals, Ildar Rakhmatullin and Andrey Maslennikov, occupied more favorable places on the starting grid. Maslennikov's positions were especially strong: after an unsuccessful first run, the native of Kostroma set weight handicaps to zero and could compete for high positions. But on Sunday, the Saturday scenario almost repeated itself: Andrey was confidently leading in the race, when the engine suddenly stopped at his Fiesta!

The head of the Russian drift series RDS Dmitry Dobrovolsky finished the season with a victory in Kazan. However, due to missing two races, the Muscovite was unable to intervene in the dispute for the title in Super Production

After some time, Maslennikov was still able to revive the engine and even broke through from last to second place. Alas, this was still not enough to solve the maximum problem: Bulatov won the title. Maslennikov, together with Oryol veteran Vladimir Cherevan, was content with gold in the team event, where their team Motorsport Podmoskovye excelled. In general, the season in the Touring Light has become one of the most bright events SMP RSKG: seven different pilots won in 14 races of this class!

Andrey Maslennikov (No. 43) was very close to his first champion title, but at the last moment the gold went to Denis Bulatov (No. 22)

In the "junior" 1600 cc standings, the National Final Weekend of the season also turned into an emotional American race, and two blockages decided the fate of the title. As expected, the lower weight handicap gave the season leader Aidar Nureyev an advantage in qualifying: the driver from Kazan took pole while his main rival, Muscovite Gleb Kuznetsov, was only twelfth! At the start of the first race, the capital's pilot was even more unlucky: he got into a blockage, "organized" by Yulia Strukova. Returning to the race one of the last, Kuznetsov could only finish eighth, while Nureyev came to the podium behind Roman Agoshkov from Togliatti.

The first race in the National class started with a blockage at the start

But on Sunday, the contenders for the title switched roles: Gleb started from the reverse pole, and Aidar got into the blockage! On the first lap on Andrey Petukhov's Kalina, the engine exploded (this episode is in the title picture) and, having slipped on oil, several participants dropped out of the race at once. Nureyev was still able to continue the race, but his Kia Rio was driving more and more slowly due to the damage he received. It seemed that the fate of the title was decided in favor of the leading Kuznetsov. However, a few laps before the finish line, a safety car appeared on the track, and after the restart, Yegor Sanin broke into first place. Thus, the Ulyanovsk junior deprived Gleb Kuznetsov of the title: Aidar Nuriyev became the owner of the Russian Cup with a difference of only one point! At the same time, the victory in Sunday's race made Sanin third at the end of the season, while the team cup went to the Rally Academy in the capital.

Among the youth in the National Junior class, the struggle for the title was reduced to a dispute between Maxim Kornilkov and Irina Sidorkova. The remaining contenders, Vladislav Seredenko and Rustam Fatkhutdinov, dropped out of the fight on Saturday after a mass accident initiated by Kornilkov. And although the rider from Perm won the first race, a 30-second penalty issued to Maxim by the judges allowed Irina Sidorkova to take the lead. However, the racer from Karelia could not take advantage of this advantage: at the start of the Sunday race, the Petrozavodsk resident fell under the hot hand of her rivals, and bent suspension arms did not allow her to finish higher than tenth place. Kornilkov, on the other hand, confidently won the decisive race, having issued a victory in the junior class. Sidorkova earned silver, and the third place in the series went to Ukrainian Vladislav Seredenko, who plays for the Chechen team Akhmat Racing Team.

Two leaders of the junior class - Maxim Kornilkov and Irina Sidorkova

By the way, the season for many heroes of the SMP RSKG is not over yet - next Saturday, October 7, they will meet again at the Ahmat Race marathon race in Grozny.
