Ranked battle mode. beta season

The second beta season of Ranked Battles has already begun! This is a great opportunity to show yourself and win a position on the leaderboard of the season. Demonstrate the highest gaming skills and lead your team to victory, gain ranks, along the way earn bonds and other valuable rewards. Uncover your top ten because the fight will be intense and the reward really worth it.

In the second beta season, we revised the ranking system, the matchmaker rules, and the entire format of ranked battles in general, so that the positions of the leaders of the season go to those who distinguished themselves by effective play throughout the season. Earning ranks will become harder, but the reward will be more worthy.

After the first beta season, ranked battles have changed a lot. We have taken into account most of the feedback and will continue to tweak the mode, taking into account the wishes of the gaming community. We sincerely hope that the changes will make the game more comfortable, but we also understand that not everything can work out as intended. Therefore, we again turn to you for help in order to configure the mode as accurately as possible. Visit the forum and leave your feedback about the second beta season of Ranked Battles! This will help us understand how successful the changes are and what improvements are possible in the future.

RU4 - 15:00-22:00 (MSK)

RU5 - 17:00-00:00 (MSK)

Major changes

In the first beta season, we were impressed with the level of skill and tenacity of the top players. The competition was fierce! We received a huge amount of feedback from you and collected a lot of data. This helped to understand what is missing in the mode, what changes are needed and how best to build the season so that everyone who wants to try their hand at playing is as comfortable as possible.

Here is a list of improvements that you have influenced.

Season length

The division of the season into four stages was not very convenient for the players. Ranked battles are not a marathon. Each season is more like a sprint in which you have to give your best. Therefore, we have reduced the duration of the season to three seven-day stages.

Chevrons

The original mechanics of obtaining chevrons compromised the very idea of ranked battles, which manifested itself in the first beta season. We wanted to create a mode based on a significant personal contribution to victory. At the same time, a team's low performance should not drag its member down, so we gave chevrons to the top three players on the losing team. It would seem that everything is fair. But upon detailed analysis, it became clear that this reduces the value of victory, which remains the main goal of the battle, regardless of the mode. It also speeded up the process of obtaining ranks, and reaching the last, fifth, was not so difficult. We've changed the rules to increase the value of winning ranks.

Obtaining chevrons in the second beta season:

  • If your team wins and you place in the top 10 in XP earned, you will receive a chevron.
  • The remaining members of the winning team, as well as the top 5 players by the amount of experience earned on the losing team, will not receive chevrons, but they will not lose them either.
  • The rest of the players on the losing team will lose chevrons.
  • Thus, 30 players from both teams will be divided into three equal prize groups 10/10/10.

Thanks to this, teams will play more cohesively, working for a common victory, while individual skill itself will not always be expressed in chevrons. However, the skill in combination with team actions will give a positive result. This change will fix another major issue that was unfortunately seen in the first beta season. Demotivated by the low performance of the team, many players focused on personal performance, which often led to defeat.

Ranks of players and cars

Experienced players reached rank V without much difficulty. And the new chevron earning mechanic wouldn't solve the problem, so we went ahead and changed the number of chevrons needed to earn ranks:

  • Player Rank: 1-3-5-7-9. For rank I, you only need one chevron, but then it gets more difficult. Rank III requires five chevrons, IV rank seven, and rank V requires nine chevrons. The number of ranks remains unchanged.
  • Machine ranks : Any vehicle rank will now require five chevrons.

We want the rank system to reflect combat effectiveness: only the best of the best will be able to achieve rank V, using all their skills and putting in significant effort. Among the leaders of the season will be those who acted effectively from the first to the last day.

balancer

We have improved the balancer to equalize the chances of teams to win:

  • Equipment types: The Balancer has been adjusted specifically for Ranked Battles: now it will form teams with an approximately equal number of heavy and medium tanks. Thanks to this, it will be more difficult to predict the outcome of a battle before it starts, which is especially true for Ranked Battles, where there are fewer cards than in Random.
  • self-propelled guns: During the first beta season, almost every battle featured three SPGs per team. Players complained on the forum that artillery spoils the experience of the game. The collected data confirmed these observations, so we reduced the number of SPGs in battle to two vehicles per team.
  • Card rotation: To reduce the chance of getting the same card, we changed the mechanics of its selection. Maps not suitable for Ranked Battles have been removed from the list.

Awards

We received valuable feedback on the reward system and the economy. In the second beta season, new rewards will appear in Ranked Battles, and revised milestone rewards will allow you to earn more Bonds without waiting for the end of the season.

    Combat missions: Previously, a special combat mission in Ranked Battles was available once a day. Now it will be possible to perform it three times, receiving, accordingly, a triple reward. In addition, some combat missions and promotions from Random Battles will now become available in Ranked Battles.

  • Mission
  • Peculiarities
  • Condition
  • Reward

    Stage Rewards: If your goal is to earn bonds, we have good news for you. If you reach rank V, at the end of the stage you will receive 1000 bonds. Achieving a similar result in other stages guarantees an impressive amount of bonds and will secure your place on the leaderboard of the season.

  • Reward for the highest rank within the stage
  • Reward for being in leagues at the end of the 2nd beta season
  • Season Rewards : The general mechanics will remain unchanged. For high combat effectiveness throughout the season, you will receive bonds and valuable game items, the amount of which will depend on your rank and position in the rating at the end of the third stage.
  • Patches : If at the end of the season you get into one of the prize leagues, you will receive a unique patch that demonstrates your high combat effectiveness. These patches will be different from those given out in the first beta season.
  • class signs : Now high combat efficiency in Ranked Battles will also be taken into account when issuing class badges. In the second beta season, you will be able to get a well-deserved "Master" if you show the appropriate result.

Season and League Leaders

Similar to the previous season, the final leaderboard will be divided into three leagues:

  • League I: top 10% of players.
  • League II: The next 15% of players.
  • League III: next 25% of players

And the last. Ranked Battles is a healthy competition that guarantees a reward for those who show high individual skill and direct their efforts towards achieving team victory. We have revised the criteria for getting into the leaderboard. Now, in order to gain a foothold in the list of the best, players need to earn a certain amount of Rank points during the season:

  • Stage 1: 4 rank points.
  • Stage 2: 8 rank points.
  • Stage 3: 12 rank points.

It's only a short time before the start of the second beta season, and we hope you're looking forward to it as much as we are. Now that you know all the details, it's time to bring X vehicles to the battlefield levels and prepare for furious battles. Go!

  • Ranked battles are only available during prime time.

Same prime times on weekdays and weekends:

Mode features

Battles are only available on Tier X vehicles, and to win, you must destroy all enemy vehicles or capture their base. While winning increases your chances of getting a chevron, it is a secondary factor. High efficiency in battle and gaining experience is much more important, because it is the position in the team list by the amount of experience earned that determines your progress. When you place in the top 12 XP players on the winning team, or the top 3 XP players on the losing team, you earn a chevron and move one step closer to a new rank. In other words, you have nothing to lose if you give your best - even if your team played poorly. At the same time, if the team won, and your personal result did not allow you to enter its top 12 in terms of experience, your current progress in ranks will be preserved: the chevron will not be debited or credited.

The higher your personal result, the higher your rank - and the opponent is selected exactly in accordance with the rank.

As soon as the battles on the fields of the fourth stage of the beta season of Ranked Battles subsided, we already started calculating the final results. And in passing we want to thank you for these four weeks spent in a new format! We were pleasantly surprised by the level of skill demonstrated - especially in battles involving rank V players!

Leagues and awards

Players who have demonstrated high performance throughout the season and are on the leaderboard of the season at the end of the 4th stage will be divided into three prize leagues:

  • 7 days of premium account;
  • 2,000 Gold;
  • 10 personal reserves (+50% credits earned for 2 hours).

League II, the next 15% of players will each receive 3,250 Silver , a Beta Season Silver patch, and a reward box containing:

  • 7 days of premium account;
  • 1,000 Gold;

League III, the next 25% will receive 1,500 Silver each, a Beta Season Bronze badge, and a reward box containing:

  • 1 day of premium account;
  • 1 slot in the Hangar;
  • 500 Gold;
  • 5 personal reserves (+50% to earned credits for 2 hours).

If you got into lower half rating, they still did not remain empty-handed. Although you didn’t earn enough points to get the main prizes, you did receive rewards for the overall ranks and vehicle ranks in the 4th stage: bonds, credits, consumables, personal reserves and more. WITH complete list These awards can be found in the Ranked Battles Regulations.

Finally, all players who earn at least 4 rank points during the beta season will receive the Ranked Battles Pioneer medal.

We will need up to 14 days to sum up and identify players who have earned their position dishonestly. After that, the final results will be published. Thank you again for participating in the battles and sharing your thoughts and suggestions. We are processing statistics and your feedback to further improve the mode, its mechanics, and the reward system. We will share detailed information about this with you before the start of the next season. We will inform you about its launch and the changes made as soon as we finish its preparation.

The final stage in the development of Ranked Battles will be the beta season, which starts on June 5 and will give everyone the opportunity to experience new sensations in World of Tanks. Enter the mode to fight against peers, earn ranks, receive exclusive rewards and share opinions.

Previous tests have generally gone well, and we are grateful to everyone who provided feedback and reported bugs. This time, you'll be checking the actual finished product and pointing out items that need improvement. We will be closely monitoring Ranked Battles statistics to understand how much impact they have in each region, and we will also use your feedback to finalize the functionality, rewards, and economy.

We have created an extended guide that we recommend you read before the start of the Ranked Battles Beta Season. However, please read this article to the end first.

Reward

For every success in Ranked Battles, you are entitled to a reward. You get prizes for all significant achievements: completing a combat mission, getting a new rank, or getting into a prize league.

Pioneer of Ranked Battles

  • Combat Mission - Reward for Perseverance
  • Restrictions - Runs once a day. Only in Ranked Battles
  • Condition - Be in the top 10 teams by experience in at least 10 battles
  • Reward - 75,000 silver. x3 Large First Aid Kit. x3 Automatic fire extinguisher. x3 Large repair kit

At the end of the season and its stages, you will receive a certain amount of new currency - bond, as well as reward boxes. Bonds can be used to purchase pre-battle instructions and advanced equipment. The number of bonds earned at the end of the stage depends on the maximum rank achieved during this stage. For example, if you first get rank IV, and then lose one and complete a stage at rank III, you will receive 400 bonds (the number of bonds received for rank IV). The number of bonds that will be credited at the end of the season depends on overall rating, which is calculated based on the ranks earned for all stages of the season and your position in the leaderboard of the season. Only the top 50% of players will receive an additional reward at the end of the season. So, the higher your position in the ranking, the higher your chance of getting bonds and the more rewards you will earn.

In addition, all Beta Season participants who earn four or more Rank Points will receive an exclusive medal.

Leaders and leagues

The strongest players in Ranked Battles will be among the Season Leaders. The place among the Season Leaders will be determined by the number of rank points earned when reaching new ranks. The more points you earn, the higher your position. You can check your position and compare your progress with other players at any time right in the game client.

With the start of a new stage, rank progress is reset, and the rank points earned go to overall standings season. Overall result at the end of the season will be calculated based on your performance at each stage. This means that getting into the Leaders of the season directly depends on the stability of the results of the game during the entire season. The ultimate goal is to get into the top half of the season's Leaderboard and maintain a position there until the end of the season. Thus, you guarantee yourself a place in one of the prize leagues, an impressive number of bonds, as well as a unique patch (depending on the league) that indicates your level of skill. The patch will be displayed in the Garage, as well as in battle next to your nickname, confirming your effectiveness.

If you do not need extra attention and you prefer to do your job without standing out, the display of patches can be turned off. While in the Garage, simply left-click on your nickname in the upper right corner of the screen, and then on the patch slot to hide them.

Go to the rules and regulations of Ranked Battles to learn more about leagues and patches.

Next steps

The beta season of Ranked Battles is a pilot one. During this season, we will collect feedback and make the necessary changes based on it.

Analysis of player feedback will allow us to understand the need for changes to the functionality, reward system, and economy of the mode, including improved equipment and pre-battle instructions.

Despite the fact that bonds are being introduced into the game as part of the beta season of Ranked Battles, this mode was not planned as the only way to get bonds and will not be considered as such in the future. In the future, we will make sure that players can earn bonds in other game modes, as well as expand the list of what can be purchased with them.

With the start of the beta season, all players will receive 100 bonds

All players who register before July 3rd will receive 100 bonds when the beta season begins. Players will also be able to test new pre-battle instructions for crew or equipment in combat, which will generate a significant amount of feedback.

In the development of ranked battles, it is you who will put the final point. We look forward to your feedback on the gameplay, balance and ranking system. See you in action on June 5th!
